Taken together, reviews depict Lattuca Barbecue as a standout Texas style smokehouse in Montreal with generous portions and a focus on tender, smoky meats like brisket and beef ribs that many visitors consider among the best outside Texas. The sides such as mac and cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans are frequently praised for flavor, though a few comments note issues with temperature or consistency and some meat being slightly dry or overly salty. A verbally delivered menu and the absence of a fixed menu are repeatedly mentioned, along with occasional service flaws, wait times, and higher prices, especially for sharing platters. The atmosphere is described as warm, casual, and welcoming with attentive staff and a clear passion for pit cooking, drawing locals and visitors from far away who often say the experience is worth the trip. Overall, the brisket and beef ribs emerge as the standout items that keep guests returning, even as some visits remind that peak times can impact service and value.
This is a friendly & casual spot for gourmet comfort food - if you like meat - this is a place to be. This was a return visit & the food was as amazing as I remembered. The taste is amazing, the quality of the meat is the best I have had, seriously. If you like BBQ meat. There are no frills, just solid food is a place that takes you away...
It was a nice experience & we will come back. The brisket was great, we would like to share just two things that would have improved our experience significantly:
1) Having fries as an option for sides would greately improve the experience for us. If that was the case, we would come to have dinner once every three weeks on average. I really do not see why you do not have them.
2) Would be good if the plates would come with napkins in them, as well as if you could provide regular napkins instead of the basic paper roll.
Hope this will be useful.
Cheers!

Best restaurant for BBQ in Montreal! The staff was amazing, especially Aly! John the pit master was amazing, we will definitely be back, I strongly recommend !
Food had almost no flavour everything tasted the same, from the brisket to the ribs. We had to ask for bbq sauce & napkins & it took awhile till we got it.
The food was ok the beef rib didn't have very much seasoning, but was cooked good. The drink I ordered came out made incorrectly & when I asked for water or napkins they were never brought until we asked multiple times. The service was not great the waiter did not come over to ask if we needed anything else or if the food came out ok. When it was time to pay we split the check & when one of the party's paid she came over & tried to rush us to pay as if we were going to leave without paying. We were not offered to go boxes & did not get them until we paid & when we were packing up the food the waitress stood right next to us staring to see what we were taking home. Also there was not enough food left in the back to get a full portion of pork ribs even though when we came in we were told the the point of making a reservation was to insure there would be enough food for all parties. Over all I would not come here again & I feel as though there are better barbecue places in Canada.

Had an outstanding experience at this Texan barbecue spot in the Old Port of Montreal. Dined with 10 of my friends & not only was the food finger-licking good, but the ambiance & service were top-notch too. A big shoutout to the owner, John, who personally went above & beyond to make sure we were accommodated & comfortable. He spent many years of his life in Texas! Truly a gem in the heart of the city & the prices are very fair while other restaurants around are much more expansive! Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, delicious barbecue!

We ordered 2 plates, 2 cocktails, 2 soft drinks, & one side. It came out to about $130 all in. Very expensive IMO, but that could be just because it's a touristy area.
The sides available were
- baked beans, which were regular, with bbq sauce
- coleslaw, which more vinergary than creamy. I was a fan.
- mac & cheese, which tasted fine, but was a little grainy. Kids did not enjoy it
We chose chicken & brisket.
The chicken was super tender & flavourful, though I think for the price there prob should have been more.
The brisket was excellent. Amongst the best I've ever eaten.
Overall, pleasant, though expensive. I would return.
I'm not quite sure where we went wrong, but we (2 adults, 2 children) asked our waitress if sharing a plate between an 11 & 8 year old would be enough food & were told it was, & also ordered what we thought were 2 adults meals. Asked again at the end of ordering if we'd ordered enough food. Waited 45 minutes & barely enough food for 3 people arrived. We didn't see the waitress again. Neighboring tables seemed to have some bigger sharing platter type thing, but this was never mentioned to us. Spent $150 excl. tip & the 4 of us left hungry & went to get something else on the way home. Meat was generally tasty, but the whole experience was pretty disappointing.
