I can not recommend this venue enough for a wedding!! We were married July 2025 & we had Alexandra as our coordinator. She is AMAZING! She is incredibly efficient at her job & making you feel as ease on your big day.
Venue - beautiful & perfect for a hot summer wedding. Spacious outdoor patio & beautiful & air conditioned space indoors. If you can, get married outside at the gazebo. It makes for such a special ceremony.
Bar - the bartenders here always so incredibly nice. We had been guests at this venue before, & each & every time the staff is on-it & personable. The drinks were also so tasty. Opt for the premium bar if you can, it does not disappoint.
Food - we opted for a BBQ to allow for more mingle time, best decision we ever made. Also, the food was even better than the tasting (which was delicious). The owner manned the BBQ in his cowboy hat & brought his homemade horseradish sauce for the steaks.
Decorations/Lights - you NEED the lights, they absolutely added to the ambiance & made any indoor pictures way cuter. They are ~$800, but if there is a wedding/event the day before or day after, you can ask to share the cost (saving you almost half the cost).
DJ/Music - Our only'meh' experience was with the company who is hired to do the music. My husband put together a long & comprehensive email & several playlists for the DJ to riff off of (pre dinner, post dinner, opening up the dance floor, last hour of the party etc.), but the coordinator for the AV team never sent the DJ our email so we had to send it night of after listening to several super cheesy songs. We are very picky when it comes to music, so we had to insist to sticking to the playlist vibes. Once that was taken care of, we proceeded to dance the night away.
TLDR: best venue, best staff, & one of the most affordable places in Montreal to hold a wedding.
I simply do not know where to start my review. Our wedding surpassed our own expectations, & the team at L'Ambroisie was such a delight to work with. The day went so smoothly with no hiccups from their end. The service was out of this world. We had 70 guests, & the food came out properly & on time. The taste of the food was simply WOW. Our guests raved about the steak & the halibut risotto, & my wife absolutely loved the oysters, especially the Rockefeller oysters. Everything tasted incredible. Like they say, it takes a village to pull off a wedding, & that is very accurate.

Alexandra - Coordinator, point of contact & the person that had a key role in make our night magical from preparation, planning & navigating all our needy requests & finding a way to get them accepted by the owner.
They are such a delight to work with & so flexible & understanding. They were accommodating with many aspects of our planning, including allowing us to bring some of our own items, which we truly appreciated. I loved all our interactions from the initial conversation to the execution of the day. They worked tirelessly to make everything go smoothly, & as with every wedding, there were unplanned moments. One example that truly stood out was when our arch vendor's partner couldn't make it. Without hesitation, the L'Ambroisie team jumped in to help mount the arch outside in -35 degree weather with freezing cold hands. Their willingness to go above & beyond, even outside their usual responsibilities, meant the world to us.
I would highly recommend L'Ambroisie to anyone planning their special day. You will be in excellent hands.

Had our wedding here in September 2025. Our coordinator Alexandra made our wedding so easy to plan. We had an unconventional cultural ceremony & they were able to support this without any issue. Food turned out great, & they were able to make adjustments during the wedding when we went long on time in some places. Would recommend to anyone.
I just had my wedding at L'Espace Canal last weekend, & what an incredible experience! From planning the event with the venue coordinator, Alexa, to the flexibility with menu creation with chef Stuart, the communication & coordination was so professional & seamless. We also had an amazing day of experience because of Jaime, Tony, Jonathan, & Rohit. We are filled with gratitude that the whole team made our wedding so memorable & perfect!!!! We got so many compliments from our guests on the food, drinks, & service.
We recently had our wedding held at Espace Canal this past weekend & it was the most beautiful day. We were very lucky to have worked with Alexandra for many months leading up to the big day as she helped us a lot with any questions we had, many many emails were answered. She is a pleasure to work with & goes above & beyond the call of duty. We also thank her & Jaime for making sure that everything ran super smoothly on the day of as our coordinator. The wait staff & our Maître D (Toni) gave excellent service & people were very happy with all of the food that was served. It is a beautiful venue that is perfect for an outdoor ceremony held along the Lachine Canal with a beautiful gazebo in the garden area, making it all very magical. We could not have asked for a better wedding & highly recommend this place for a great venue location!
Could not have asked for a better wedding venue. The coordinators & staff were kind & professional from our first tour of the location to when we were closing out the reception. We were able to have a menu that was everything we ever wanted. The food was so good that we had multiple guests ask if they could take some home.
Multiple times throughout the night, the staff brought food specifically for my wife & I to make sure we were eating. They were making sure to take care of us while we were occupied on taking care of our guests.
Unfortunately, it did rain on our wedding day so we could not have the ceremony outside. Luckily our venue coordinators, Alexandra & Alice, along with our personal coordinator Steph, came together to set up the most amazing indoor ceremony that we will remember forever.
We can say in full confidence that this is THE place to get married.
We had our wedding at L'Espace Canal this past weekend & I am so glad that we chose this venue! First, L'Espace canal is absolutely beautiful. Second, our venue coordinator (Alexandra) & the L'Ambroisie/L'Espace Canal chefs & staff were fantastic throughout the entire engagement/planning process. The venue worked closely with us to customize a Southern Food buffet station to reflect my Georgia (USA) roots. They were open to suggested recipe changes, & the food turned out great - our guests were raving! Alexandra did an amazing job setting up the decorations & coordinating the arrival of other vendors. I did not have to worry about a thing on my wedding day - everything was beautiful & set up exactly to my specifications. During the wedding, the staff & bartenders were very professional & attentive to both us as bride & groom, as well as our guests. Our wedding was at L'Espace Canal was an absolute dream. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Our wedding day at L'Ambroisie & L'Espace Canal was nothing short of magical. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, but what really sets it apart is the incredible team that comes with it. The food was amazing-every dish was delicious & they are so accommodating with dietary restrictions. The bar service was top-notch, with a great selection of drinks & friendly bartenders who kept the party going. The day-of coordinator (Alexandra) was a lifesaver, handling every detail with such grace & efficiency that we were able to relax & enjoy our day to the fullest. From start to finish, L'Ambroisie & L'Espace Canal exceeded our expectations, & we couldn't be happier!
Had an absolutely wonderful wedding experience here! Our coordinator leading up to the event, Dietrich, did an excellent job answering our many questions & helping to ensure we felt confident & comfortable going into the event. During the day of the wedding we worked with Alexa, who took on all of the decorating & details of the space perfectly. The venue is gorgeous, the food delicious (almost every guest commented how on amazing the food was), & the DJ hired through the space was perfect! The venue takes care of almost everything for the wedding so we had very little to worry about in the days leading up to the event. We had our wedding at L' Ambroisie in May 2024. It was a dream. The location is ideal ( ceremony, cocktail hour, reception), offers overnight parking if needed. Staff is accommodating to special requests & really go out of their way to make it happen. Special Shout Out to Dietrich ( the most patient, accommodating & fun coordinator to work with), Amber ( the reception capitain) & Jonathan ( probably the best bartender in MTL) who made our day amazing. Price is well worth it & very reasonable & they offer many options. Amazing open bar, great DJ. They recommend vendors that are good to use because they know the venue inside & out. The food is SO good & there are many options to chose from. Great places to take photos as well. Overall, beautiful venue, great staff, amazing wedding !!

Had a wedding party there last week. May 11. Constance, the wedding coordinator was absolutely amazing. She went the extra, extra mile to make sure the evening was a success. It was. Thank you Constance. Excellent food & great service by the staff. You made it a memorable event.
We were married at l'ambroisie in April 2024. With about 75 dinner guests, salle l'ambroisie was the perfect size for us. Our coordinators Alexandra & Constance were great. They were helpful during the planning process & the wedding day. We gave them all our decorations with a description of how we wanted it set up, & they put everything together perfectly. We received so many compliments from the guests, they really loved the venue & the food. We had asked for some adjustments during our tasting & they were taken into account. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The wedding package also includes the cost of a DJ. We were assigned DJ big Daddy who did a fantastic job. Our wedding day was wonderful. Also, the cost is fairly reasonable considering the location of the venue, & services included.
The pluses: I don’t think you can find a better spot in downtown Montreal with those prices. The venue is beautiful, I loved the arch, they’re very turnkey & espace canal is super pretty & can really look great with minimal effort. Alex was great to work with & hustled during the wedding to make sure everything was great. The menu was adapted for vegetarians & vegans & food was delicious. The bartenders were super sweet as well as were all the waiters.
The minuses: we had issues with our first coordinator which caused quite a lot of stress, there was issues with figuring out who would take over, the communication can mostly only be done by email (not phone really) & you have to be very very proactive in order to make sure everything is organized. But if you are organized & will write them & follow up a lot, everything should go smoothly.
Summary: I think it’s definitely a steal for a spot in the city, if you like a more urban vibe. I really enjoyed my night tremendously. The planning was a bit rough around the edges but I think it makes sense with the pricing.

(English below) On a célébré notre mariage à l'Ambroisie il y a un mois & on a vraiment aimé comment notre événement s'est déroulé ainsi que tout le processus qui a précédé. Dès notre première visite on s'est sentis pris en main par la coordonatrice qui a évidemment beaucoup d'expérience. Leurs documents étaient complets & clairs; la structure (horaire, menu, choix pour le bar, cérémonie etc) faisait en sorte qu'on se sentait entre de bonnes mains, mais en même temps il y avait assez d'espace pour qu'on crée notre évènement à notre goût & notre image. Durant la soirée le personnel était très agréable & efficace, on sentait qu'ils avaient envie d'être là & qu'ils savaient ce qu'ils faisaient. Nous & nos invités avons tous beaucoup aimé le repas, des canapés au dessert. Franchement si c'était à refaire on choisirait le même endroit sans hésitations. Sans parler du prix qui était tout à fait abordable surtout en comparant avec d'autres restaurants dans le coin.. & que dire du jardin le long de l'eau pour la cérémonie! On est ravis. Merci l'Ambroisie -- We celebrated our wedding at l'Ambroisie a month ago & we really loved our event as well as the whole process of creating it. Since our first visit of the venue we felt that the coordinator had a lot of experience & we could follow her lead. Their documents are thorough & clear; the structure (schedule, menu, bar options, ceremony, etc) made us feel like we were in good hands, but at the same time there was enough space & flexibility for us to create a wedding that we felt was unique & reflected who we are. During the evening the staff was very nice & efficient, we felt that they were happy to be there & that they knew what they were doing. Our guests & us really loved the meal, from the appetizers all the way to the dessert. Honestly, if we were to do it all over again we would choose the same venue without any hesitation. The price was also very affordable, especially comparing with other restaurants in the neighbourhood. & the garden along the water for the ceremony was just so charming. If you're looking for the perfect wedding venue I highly suggest L'Ambroisie restaurant. They are very accommodating, staff is super friendly, our guests loved the food. The event coordinator, Alexandra is quick to reply & will answer every & all questions you have throughout your time planning. She is amazing & was so helpful in this process. I never had to stress with anything about the venue & that's all because of how confident I felt with Alexandra.
You have 3 options where you can do your ceremony. Inside the restaurant, outside in the terrace, or outside in their beautiful garden.
Again, if you're looking for an amazing place to hold your ceremony & reception then Restaurant L'Ambroisie is the place to do it!!
