'My recent experience here was incredibly disappointing. The food was not only cold but also bland. Nothing really stood out. The service was painfull! It would of been a good start knowing that we had a 2 hour timeline there before forcing us to leave. The manager Mike should get some'people' skills.

Best service we've had in a while!! Many restaurants in Montreal lack good service not realizing how important it is for people to come back. This said, I will most definitely be coming back to La Spada. Food was beyond our expectations, we had the special porchetta & it was amazing. Pasta was 10/10, & the octopus was super tender.
On top of all this, the restaurant was busy & there was a great vibe. Totally recommend this spot!Voir plus

From the menu, the condiment, the music (Italian classics), I feel home, but in the style & feel of a classic & trendy Montreal restaurant. Amazing ambience & ever better food! I loved everything at Spada. They have done an amazing job at delivering high quality food & great service.
We loved the Duck Ragu (super deep flavour) & Fritto Misto (fried seafood, I could drink the aioli it came with). Funghi Gnocchi & Brussel sprouts were highlights as well.
The service was very attentive (so attentive that a server offered to take my gum I spat into my wrapper; I did not let them). The bartenders made amazing drinks & servers always made sure things were clean & taken care of.
They managed to pull off an incredibly authentic Italian American ambiance without it seeming tacky or overdone. I felt like I was at a Nonnàs house or in the Sopranos in the best way possible. Bonus points for the large pepper mill & old phone.
I recommend this to anyone looking for Italian food in Montreal, perfect for a date or a group of friends or just a nice dinner out.

Un restaurant italien authentique au top ! Les pâtes maison sont délicieuses, surement les meilleures que j'ai mangé au Canada & peut-être même worldwide. Pas étonnant que cet endroit soit aussi populaire. Le service est irréprochable : le personnel est attentif, souriant & toujours de bons conseils. What an incredible meal that was. I felt compelled to write a review for this beautiful, beautiful restaurant as the service was impeccable. My husband & I were celebrating an important event, & brought our 2 year-old son. We were met with a high-chair already in place, & the kindest waiter who brought him a small new hot wheel car to play with. I cannot remember our waiter's name, but I am sure if he reads this he will remember us. He, & all of his colleagues, were so sweet towards our son & their level of professionalism was remarkable. In some places, you can be met with a cold shoulder if you bring your toddler to a fancy place, but instead, he was treated like a little prince! Trust, this makes a parent's whole day. The restaurant itself is stunning, & our meal from start to finish was *chef's kiss*. We could not get enough. From the deliciously grilled octopus, to the exquisite branzino + carbonara, all the way to i zepole & espressos -- we did not want to leave (or stop eating).

Nice restaurant & ambiance, great service! Good menu with lots of options. Octopus was good, not the best, but pleasant dish to share, good portion. Tortellini in brodo was ok. Broccolini was burned, tasted like camping cooking. Filet mignon was too expensive for what it was. Also came already cut in slices. Ragu pappardelle had a very good taste, portion was generous, unfortunately the pasta were way overcooked. Dessert was amazing!Voir plus

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time &, last night, I finally got the opportunity. It did not disappoint. Everything was on point from our greeting by our hostess to dessert.
Our server was very attentive & made a good wine recommendation. The dishes were delicious, plentiful & arrived at our table quickly.

Hussein - our server for the night was an absolute gem & I'd definitely revisit. Their contorni are also incredible - we had the sprouts & the potatoes. We ordered 3 appetizers (Cesar salad, suppli, meatballs) with carbonara & duck tagliatelle. Everything was just ok, this place did not add up to the social media hype. It was average at best.
