La Spada is a beautiful Italian restaurant with phenomenal food, great decor & great service. Do yourself a favor & make sure to order the Focaccia (extra Bomba on the side is a must). They recently added a 20oz T-bone steak on the menu, & let me tell you, one of the best steaks I've ever had at a restaurant. Thank you Luca & team for a fantastic time, every time.View more

From the moment we walked in, we loved this place. The atmosphere feels very warm & welcoming.
We had the pleasure of being served by Luca, the manager of the restaurant. He is very knowledgeable about the various dishes they serve & he guided us on what to order based on our wine choice. The food was incredible, everything we ate was flavourful & well portioned. Highly recommend.View more

Amazing experience at La Spada! Beautifully decorated like a restaurant in the heart of Rome we got sharing platters for a table of 7 & they accommodated us at every step. Starting with a salty warm foccacia that went so well with the traditional tortellini soup. We had the arancini, broccolini, Brussels sprouts, vodka pasta, ragu pasta, 20oz steak & lamb chops. Everything was absolutely delectable, all served by a warm & knowledgeable Luca. Amazing culinary experience overall, highly recommend!!View more

This place deserves all the stars it can get. The food was incredible, very flavourful & well cooked, & the drinks are original & super tasty. The ambiance was energetic, & I loved the Italian music & vibe. The service was 10/10/10, from the moment we walked in until the end. The manager Luca was very accommodating to our big group, even though they were booked, he found us a cozy spot in the restaurant & insured we enjoyed our time.

Excellent restaurant. The place is really nice with friendly staff. The food was excellent. From the octopus, calamari, caesar salad, meatballs, pasta & the lamb. Everything was wonderful. Looking forward to be back soon.View more

The food was pretty good. Some hits but some weird misses. The frito misto & the pappardelle was incredible but 2/3 of the pastas (the vodka & the fusilli) were so bland I was questioning if they came from the same restaurant that just made the frito misto & the pappardelle I was raving about. The branzino was also incredible. The service was fine. Servers were nice but the pacing of the course was super slow. Slow enough to ask where the food was. Great scene & atmosphereView more

It has been difficult to find a restaurant since the pandemic that hasn't disappointed us for one reason or the other. Bravo La Spada for exciting the senses once again. From the moment you walk into the restaurant you are visually captured by the decor, then the aromas hit you & you start craving everything that walks past you. Smartly dressed waitstaff, clearly trained for the industry, jointly tend to you throughout your night. & then, the food!! I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Absolutely loved every bite that touched my tongue. Already looking forward to another visit to Montreal & another great experience at La Spada!!View more

It was my friend's birthday so we decided to go full baller. I heard great things about this place & it didn't disappoint.
Cool family style Italian restaurant decor, but definitely with bougie accents. The crowd fit the decor perfectly.
The menu is classic Italian. We chose the focaccia, arancini - they change every week - & the burrata.
We skipped the pasta & went for a big ol' cowboy steak we split between us, with roasted potatoes & brocolini. Everything was fantastic, the bread had a salty crust which was delicious, the arancini perfect & the best steak I've had in quite a while. The sauce was unnecessary, but too good to not use.
Big kudos on the wine list too, lots of variety & natural options.
The only minor criticism was that when we were asked to vacate our table & finish our digestivo at the bar to let other patrons get seated, I would have expected a token gesture on their part - a shot or dessert to split. But I guess this is 2025 & the rules of dining out have changed.
Either way, we had a fabulous meal, the staff was nice, very professional.
Definitely not a cheap night out, but the quality & value were there, so I recommend this spot.View more

Service was really nice & food was pretty good. We tried the caesar salad (huge btw), special of the day (cacio e pepe arancini), ragu & carbonara. Appetizers were excellent. Ragu was full of flavors & depth but a bit too salty for us. Carbonara was good but something was missing (sauce was not sticking to the pasta). Overall nice experience!View more

Overall a mid experience. The food started strong with our smaller plates, but the pasta dishes were disappointing. Overall, what stuck with us is how rushed the service felt, which took away from the entire experience. There is far better in MTL for the price point.View more
