best pasta place in montreal, & luca was the nicest & cutest serve
Excellent restaurant. The place is really nice with friendly staff. The food was excellent. From the octopus, calamari, caesar salad, meatballs, pasta & the lamb. Everything was wonderful. Looking forward to be back soon.
The food was pretty good. Some hits but some weird misses. The frito misto & the pappardelle was incredible but 2/3 of the pastas (the vodka & the fusilli) were so bland I was questioning if they came from the same restaurant that just made the frito misto & the pappardelle I was raving about. The branzino was also incredible. The service was fine. Servers were nice but the pacing of the course was super slow. Slow enough to ask where the food was. Great scene & atmosphere
Food was great, service was absolutely horrible! Ruined the whole experience sadly.
It has been difficult to find a restaurant since the pandemic that hasn't disappointed us for one reason or the other. Bravo La Spada for exciting the senses once again. From the moment you walk into the restaurant you are visually captured by the decor, then the aromas hit you & you start craving everything that walks past you. Smartly dressed waitstaff, clearly trained for the industry, jointly tend to you throughout your night. & then, the food!! I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Absolutely loved every bite that touched my tongue. Already looking forward to another visit to Montreal & another great experience at La Spada!!
It was my friend's birthday so we decided to go full baller. I heard great things about this place & it didn't disappoint.
Cool family style Italian restaurant decor, but definitely with bougie accents. The crowd fit the decor perfectly.
The menu is classic Italian. We chose the focaccia, arancini - they change every week - & the burrata.
We skipped the pasta & went for a big ol' cowboy steak we split between us, with roasted potatoes & brocolini. Everything was fantastic, the bread had a salty crust which was delicious, the arancini perfect & the best steak I've had in quite a while. The sauce was unnecessary, but too good to not use.
Big kudos on the wine list too, lots of variety & natural options.
The only minor criticism was that when we were asked to vacate our table & finish our digestivo at the bar to let other patrons get seated, I would have expected a token gesture on their part - a shot or dessert to split. But I guess this is 2025 & the rules of dining out have changed.
Either way, we had a fabulous meal, the staff was nice, very professional.
Definitely not a cheap night out, but the quality & value were there, so I recommend this spot.
Service was really nice & food was pretty good. We tried the caesar salad (huge btw), special of the day (cacio e pepe arancini), ragu & carbonara. Appetizers were excellent. Ragu was full of flavors & depth but a bit too salty for us. Carbonara was good but something was missing (sauce was not sticking to the pasta). Overall nice experience!
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food, the atmosphere, the service, the choice of music, the quality & taste of every single dish. For sure one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal after one visit. Will be back multiple times.
Food, staff & vibes were excellent ! Focaccia & broccolini are a must try. Also any pasta won't be a disappointment !!
If I could have give 6 stars, I would have. Perfect night, food insane, service ... Incomparable!!!! Run to this place.
One of my new favorite Italian restaurants. We've been back 2 times & loved it both times. They're menu changes here & there but the squid dishes are always fire. The Caesar salad is amazing too!
Overall a mid experience. The food started strong with our smaller plates, but the pasta dishes were disappointing. Overall, what stuck with us is how rushed the service felt, which took away from the entire experience. There is far better in MTL for the price point.
Best restaurant in Montreal! Insane food, great ambiance & friendly staff. Hurry up & get your reservation!
Good food, good service & ambiance. We took the foccacia, bomba, ceasar salad & a pasta & it was perfect for 2 people
Best modern Italian food you can find in Montreal. Impeccable service & a great cocktail list too. You can't go wrong with the menu. Order anything & you will be blown away. Liam is the goat. My group of 5 had so much fun. The staff here know what they're doing & it shows. Can't wait to come back
LOVED it! From the service to the vibe to the amazing food & wine, you can't go wrong at La Spada. Our waiter was amazing, & super helpful, as was the rest of the staff. The red wine from Montepulciano made me temporarily forget about the gloomy weather outside & everything from the appetizers (burrata on micro greens & eggplants as well as arancini stuffed with truffle rizzoto) to the dessert (Ferrero Rocher cake) was absolutely delicious.
We had a team dinner here on Friday & had such a fantastic experience! There was a small mix-up with our guest numbers when we arrived, but the staff were so kind & quick to sort everything out-they really went above & beyond. The food was absolutely incredible (special shoutout to the carbonara-it was next level!), & the atmosphere made for a really fun night. We had such a great time & would 100% recommend this spot. We'll definitely be back!
11/10 service.
11/10 food.
11/10 atmosphere.
Probably the best spot in Montreal right now.
