La nourriture était absolument délicieuse, les plats sont généreux & pleins de saveurs sans parler du service impeccable de Louana. Elle a rendue mon expérience à un tout autre niveau. J'ai déjà hâte de revenir. Pour finir, l'ambiance est chaleureuse & on se sent vraiment bien dès qu'on entre.
Extremely disappointing & insulting experience at La Spada.
We had a reservation, yet when we arrived there was no table available. After waiting over 30 minutes past our reservation time with little communication & no meaningful effort to resolve the situation, it became clear the restaurant was completely disorganized. Staff seemed overwhelmed, nobody appeared to know who was responsible for our table, & even basic service like getting water took far too long.
What was most frustrating wasn't the delay itself, but the lack of accountability. Mistakes happen, especially at a new restaurant, but good restaurants acknowledge them & make an effort to recover the guest experience. At La Spada, we received empty apologies which did not include management, & we were largely ignored. I am shaking my head in disbelief.
Eventually, we decided to leave & booked a last-minute reservation at Joe Beef instead. The difference was night & day. Despite reserving just minutes before arriving, we were seated almost immediately. From the moment we walked in, the staff were attentive, professional, & genuinely hospitable. Service was seamless, recommendations were thoughtful, requests were handled promptly, & the food was outstanding.
What should have been a frustrating evening was completely salvaged by Joe Beef. In less than five minutes, they delivered the level of hospitality that La Spada chose not to provide in over half an hour. The experience perfectly demonstrated the difference between a restaurant that merely takes reservations & has its manager displaying inappropriate intimacy with his significant other & one that truly values its guests.
La Spada wasted our time. Joe Beef saved our evening. There are plenty of restaurants on the same street within walking distance where you can put your hard-earned money, your time, & energy to good use. &, more importantly, where you are treated with the bare minimum: respect.
I won't return to La Spada, but I will gladly return to Joe Beef & highly recommend it to anyone looking for a restaurant that once again understands absolutely excellent service, professionalism, hospitality & delicious food! A one star rating for La Spada is generous; however, the review system doesn't allow us to give zero stars, which is what this experience deserves. Quite frankly, I get better service at McDonald's & that's without a reservation.
Nous avions une réservation en fin de soirée chez Spada, mais malheureusement, l'expérience a été très décevante. Nous avons dû attendre environ 30 minutes après l'heure prévue avant d'avoir notre table. Ce qui nous a surtout surpris, c'est l'absence totale de commentaire ou d'excuse de la part de l'équipe concernant ce retard.
Une fois assis, nous avons attendu encore au moins 10 minutes avant que notre serveur vienne nous voir, & seule de l'eau nous a été offerte. Nous avons finalement décidé de quitter le restaurant avant même de recevoir notre nourriture, ce qui était une première pour moi.
Je comprends tout à fait qu'un restaurant puisse avoir du retard, particulièrement lors d'une soirée achalandée. Cependant, dans d'autres établissements où une situation semblable s'est produite, il y a toujours eu au minimum une attention, une excuse ou simplement une reconnaissance de l'attente de la part du serveur ou du gérant. Ici, nous n'avons malheureusement ressenti aucune attention particulière.
L'ambiance est également très bruyante, avec une clientèle plutôt jeune. Pour le niveau de prix, je ne trouve pas que l'ambiance ni le service soient à la hauteur. Il y a plusieurs très bons restaurants à seulement quelques minutes de marche qui offrent, selon moi, une expérience beaucoup plus soignée.
Dans l'ensemble, Spada m'a donné davantage l'impression d'un endroit axé sur les apparences que sur la qualité de l'expérience offerte. Dommage, car nous avions vraiment hâte de l'essayer.
First time at La Spada & definitely not the last! The food was absolutely delicious, but a special shoutout to Chloé !! Her service was warm, attentive, & truly exceptional from start to finish. Such a great experience overall. ✨
