⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
From the moment we walked in, our experience at La Spada was exceptional. Every detail was thoughtfully executed-from the beautiful décor & warm atmosphere to the impeccable service. The staff was incredibly attentive throughout the evening, making sure our table had everything we needed while making us feel genuinely welcomed & appreciated. The owner was present & actively involved in the restaurant, which added such a personal touch & really showed how much they care about the guest experience.
We were a group, so we had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes, & every single one was outstanding. The Caesar salad special was one of the best I've ever had, & the homemade focaccia was absolute perfection. The mushroom pasta was rich & full of flavor, the branzino was cooked beautifully, & everything else we ordered was equally impressive.
As someone with a serious sweet tooth, dessert is always a big deal for me, & La Spada absolutely delivered. The Ferrero Rocher ball-a giant, house-made take on the classic chocolate-was both original & incredibly delicious. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.
La Spada has mastered every aspect of the dining experience. We left already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!
No misses but some food reigned supreme. The meatballs & zitti alla fungi were killer.
Great vibe & decor.
Service was attentive & restrained.
Valet parking is a nice touch
Tonight's meal at La Spada was a 100/10 experience! We attended the Snowdon Deli x La Spada collab dinner, & weren't disappointed. Between the delicious food, the delectable pickle martini, the perfect wine pairings, the beautiful decor, the kind staff (thanks for not judging us for accidentally breaking a glass!), & the impeccable service, I know we'll be back again soon 🤤
Man, I've been looking forward to finally checking out La Spada for a year now. I don't get out to eat nearly as often as I'd like these days, so when we walked in, it hit different right away. Coatcheck, tablecloths, proper dim lighting that actually feels cozy instead of stuffy, attentive service without being over-the-top-hospitality done right. The decor's fun & playful in this relaxed, homey way that's elegant but totally unpretentious. & the playlist? Classic hits with a modern spin-think Boney M flowing into funky'Stayin' Alive' covers. It kept the vibe light & enjoyable the whole night.
We started with the green salad, & honestly, it blew me away. So light & fluffy, way beyond what I expected from a simple salad. They really nailed it. Then the fritto misto-crispy as hell from the first bite to the last, perfectly seasoned. No weak links there.
The homemade charcuterie & focaccia was an absolute highlight for me: the cotechino sausage & coppa (two ways) were spot-on, rich & flavorful without being heavy. We also got the side of mushrooms in garlic cream sauce, which was killer-super creamy & garlicky. Only thing I wished for was some extra focaccia or bread to mop up every last drop of that sauce. Next time, I'm definitely asking.
For mains, it's all about that comforting Italian soul: we went with the braised duck ragù over pappardelle & the pork shoulder with polenta & gremolata. Knowing all the pastas are made in-house just makes it better. The flavors were so balanced-everything married perfectly, no dish felt one-note. Portions are seriously generous too, which makes sharing easy & fun.
Desserts sealed the deal. They've got a pastry chef on site (which is rarer than it should be), & nothing fell short. The tiramisu was huge & classic, there was this playful take on Ferrero Rocher that was indulgent & playful in the best way, & then the cherry mascarpone cake-man, that one was my personal favorite. It left such a good, memorable finish to the whole evening.
The experience was genuinely wonderful from start to finish. A huge thank you to Scott for creating such a special spot, to the chef & the pastry team for the incredible food, & to the entire service staff for making the night feel so welcoming & effortless. If you're in Montréal & craving real, thoughtful Italian without the pretension, La Spada delivers. We left happy, full, & already talking about when we're going back. Highly recommend.
An absolute gem! The service is incredible, our waiter frank was super sweet, attentive & the front of house is so on top of their game, always filling your drinks, cleaning up, getting you what you need. The food was incredible & the decor & holiday touches felt so homey. Will absolutely be back!
I had dinner last night at this spot.
Where to start!! It was beyond my expectations.
The food was excellent, the décor was fancy & elegant, & the waiters were dressed in a Gatsby vibe (nothing vulgar).
The service was excellent. It was my friend's birthday - they offered a dessert, & they even took the time to prepare a special cocktail & offered it to us!
I met the manager; very nice & friendly.
I didn't feel the urge to consume more food or drinks, unlike other places in Montreal.
Definitely a restaurant to go back to again & again.
Great decor, exceptionally kind service great music. & the food! Do yourself a favour & go with multiple people so you can share & try a bunch of different dishes.
Amazing food, staff, decor & the cocktails are really tasty. My favourite restaurant in Montreal.
