However the pacing of the meal was unfortunate - we waited a while for our order to be taken & for our drinks to come, then as soon as we ordered they brought the appetizer & the meal at the same time. Luckily the food was yummy. The place is very loud & the music is a bit cliché but the overall vibe is lovely & fun.
Our night was ruined by awful service from start to finish. We got appetizers before our drinks even arrived, which was just the beginning of a frustrating evening. The waitress started off okay but quickly became rude & inattentive. She interrupted our conversation abruptly, demanding to know if we wanted one bill or three-what if we wanted another drink? No consideration at all.
To make things worse, with only three tables left in the entire restaurant, the'manager' had the nerve to come over & bluntly tell us they were closing. No apology, no effort to acknowledge that it was my friend's birthday-just pure disrespect & zero class.
The food was nothing special, & the whole experience felt rushed & dismissive. I'm done with this place. There are plenty of restaurants that actually know how to treat customers.
I just wish the portions for some of the plates we're bigger, like add some sides of carrots or give us free bread or something... I hate paying a bill of pver 150$ for 2 & leaving hungry.
Visited La Spada for the first time this weekend & it did not disappoint!
I was in a group of 7 people celebrating my birthday & our server Zoe was phenomenal. She really went above & beyond. Service can really make or break an experience & she made our night that much better 💗
Also the food was insane. So rare to taste so many dishes & love every single one.
So thanks for making my birthday a great one!!

I was there for supper & I want to start by saying our waiter Alec was amazing. Even though the waiter was also busy with other tables we didn't wait long, he was always make sure everything was good with us. Smiling & made sure he explained the dishes to us . Again waiter Alec was fantastic. As so the good OMG tasteful , delicious ! Papardelle Ragù d'Anatra, Abbacchio, was amazing. Bistecca Fiorentina Very tender .if you like pesto I suggest Bucatini Pesto was amazing. As for the entree the meatballs , the calamari, Mozzarella Caprese…. Everything we ate was delicious. I would like to say thank you to Alec the waiter snd to the cooks & the whole staff & cheers to the owner . Thank you

Great decor, exceptionally kind service great music. & the food! Do yourself a favour & go with multiple people so you can share & try a bunch of different dishes.
Tous les plats étaient délicieux, une belle expérience culinaire!
Venant d'une famille italienne, il est souvent difficile de trouver quelque chose à mon goût.
Surprise! J'y retourne définitivement!
Great food & wonderful service from Frank with owners Tara & Scott always taking good care of you! La Spada has a welcoming energy that makes every visit a pleasure!!
Great family dinner at La Spada. They were able to accommodate 9 of us on Friday night of a long weekend at a nice round table. The food was excellent as was the service. The lobster arancini balls were wonderful! Highly recommended!
Amazing food, staff, decor & the cocktails are really tasty. My favourite restaurant in Montreal.
I loved everything about it , the food & service was amazing , very good place to go if you are looking for quality & a good ambiance !! I recommend
We were supposed to go to another restaurant for our anniversary, but decided to pop in as this restaurant is closer to our place & the hostess was kind enough to accommodate our unexpected arrival. Right when you walk in, you notice the ambiance is spot on - never been to Rome specifically but everything felt right from decor to the menu. Mood was also amplified by the amazing Dean Martin classics they were playing.
Food was delicious, la Spada is a homey eatery that serves simple Roman classics, executed very well. The vitello saltimbocca was the highlight, reading some reviews saying its salty - not sure what they expected with a dish wrapped in prosciutto. The salt was nicely balanced with a squeeze of lemon & the buttery wine sauce they served it with, I cleaned the bone despite being full. Pasta was perfectly cooked & portions were generous. I thought the price of the pasta was high at first glance but the portion you get is certainly worth it.
We had the pleasure of being served by Liam who was attentive but for the most part let us enjoy our dinner (the way it should be). Someone, who I believe was the owner, came over to check in on us - its clear that these people care about their clients & the food they serve. The lower reviews I read seemed unjustified from my experience; disgruntled individuals who complain no matter what, or come with lots of entitlement & very little understanding.
Thank you La Spada!
J'ai eu la mauvaise idée de ne pas réserver avant d'aller à La Spada. Par chance, j'ai eu la chance d'avoir une place au bar & de me faire servir par Hocine. Barman incroyable & nourriture succulente. Merci!
This restaurant is nicely decorated & has a great atmosphere, although they could think of better music to play. The food unfortunately is overpriced for what it is. We enjoyed the branzino & the Brussels sprouts. The pasta was alright, but the portion was way too large for a primo. The tiramisu was really quite sad…
They seem to have issues with pacing of the food. When we had just received our appetizer, all our other courses were thrown at the table. Besides that these dishes didn't all fit on the small table at the same time & made it uncomfortable to eat, it's honestly just a big no go to serve mains at the same time as the primi…we felt rushed & most of the food was cold by the time we got to it.
We really wanted to love this restaurant but were disappointed in the overall experience provided.
