The atmosphere is great. Not too bright, not too loud, very cozy. The staff recognizes me & welcomes me back every time, which is such a great feeling. There's a great depth of flavor in every dish, from meats & veggies finished on a charcoal grill, to pasta made fresh in house, & sauces with subtle notes that leave you guessing. When you order, dont skip the greens. This place will make you love broccolini. La Spada takes itself seriously. Theres no artificial pretension here. A trattoria made by the Montreal food scene, for the Montreal food scene.
Brazino was wonderful. 2 servings of pasta a le vongole were tasteless.
Nice atmosphere & good dishes... I wouldn't say is the best pasta or Italian food I have tasted in Montréal... but is a very good place to come back for sure.
This was great. Food was amazing, we followed recommendations from the waiter & it was great. Both the Pasta dish were amazing (beef ragu & butternut ravioli), full of flavour, pasta al dente. Great spot for a date night as well, as very nice atmosphere. The cocktails were also very nice (especially expresso martini) I would recommend.
amazing food (we loved the crudo, beef tartare, shrimp cocktail, focaccia, & brussel sprouts) & great service! only disappointment is that the vongole is listed on the menu as linguine but we were served bucatini (I hate bucatini) & it was barely warm when it got to our table... I would definitely come back & try other pasta dishes though!
I love everything about this resto, loved the atmosphere, cute & cozy resto amazing services & best pasta vongole 😋 highly recommend
We went to La Spada for my daughter's birthday-she's a big fan of Italian cuisine. I didn't have any particular expectations going in, but we had an amazing experience. The food was outstanding-the best pasta I've ever had, especially the squash ravioli with sage butter, which was even better than in Italy! The Bresaola, octopus, braised beef pappardelle, Focaccia, & dessert were all divine. One of the owners, Scott, even took the time to come & greet us. The service was impeccable yet unpretentious, & the atmosphere was fantastic, even on a rainy Tuesday night. I highly recommend it! We didn't get to try the tortellini in broth, so we'll definitely have to go back. ;)
Very pretty place & very happening for a Tuesday evening. Service was great. Drinks were excellent. I loved the pepperoncini (a spicy twist on a good martini). We had the eggplant parmigiana which was my favorite dish , the caccio e pepe & the ravioli francese. Everything was very tasty I just didn't find the pasta dishes were hot enough. Overall good experience.
