La Sala Rosa Restaurante Espanol is the latest addition to the Casa del Popolo family. The restaurant offers Montrealers with a taste of Spanish culture and offers an intriguing menu full of traditional Spanish specialties like tapas and paella.
La Sala Rosa is not to be confused with its Italian neighbour of the same name, the La Sala Rossa (with a double 's'). Thursday evenings are the most lively night of the week as La Sala Rosa plays host to a live flamenco dancer, singer and guitarist followed by a band playing cocktail music.
La Sala Rossa is described as an intimate, welcoming venue for live music and shows with a cozy space, strong lighting, and a tight, atmospheric feel that makes performances memorable. Reviews highlight a diverse lineup including jazz, world music, and touring bands, with album release parties and improvisation nights among the highlights, and praise for the friendly bar staff and the bar's solid beer selection. While not a restaurant, the venue offers a bar and a stage and emphasizes a colorful, safe, inclusive atmosphere, though some note that arriving early helps to secure seating and that prices could be more affordable. The overall impression is that La Sala Rossa provides top quality ambience, great sound and lighting, and a strong community vibe that earns it high recommendations for shows and creative performances in the city.
was here for the rocco concert. the ambiance was amazing & the venue felt very tight & intimate, which was great! the lighting is gorgeous & i loved the atmosphere it set.
Très belle soirée d'improvisation, soirée Punch club. C'était la première fois pour moi. J'ai bien aimé! Prix raisonnable.
If you just want to spend a nice evening eating real Mexican food with a smile on the waiter face...that's the place to go ! Tried this twice evening in a row & enjoyed both of them ! Rare place that should be so famous (but cool it is not so it is not crowded ;)) Go try it yourself ! Thanks Adrian !
