Since 1999, the restaurant LA PRUNELLE is a bring your wine that imposes itself on the popular Duluth in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal. The chef conveys her passion in each of her dishes, working with products of Quebec dotted with Mediterranean accents. Respecting both the producers of the province and seasonal changes, the menu leads us into an adventure filled with happy detours. One feels immediately at home in this lively and friendly restaurant, overseen by Annie the co-owner and her team. The place is a beautiful and charming space, with large windows that open completely in the summer. One thing is certain, LA PRUNELLE is a very good value for money and is surely one of the finest dining experiences on the Plateau Mont-Royal.
La Prunelle draws praise for refined French dining in a warm, intimate setting with attentive service and a BYOW policy that many guests appreciate. Reviews note delicious dishes such as beef tartare, magret de canard, ris de veau, octopus, and a dessert lineup that impresses, along with a chic yet casual ambiance and a lively street view from the window. While the experience is sometimes described as excellent value for money thanks to BYOW, some criticisms include very small portions, occasional slow service when crowded, and a sometimes noisy or crowded room. Overall, the restaurant is frequently described as a neighborhood gem, perfect for special occasions or relaxed evenings, and many guests say they will return.

Food was incredible: service was ridiculously slow! We arrived at 7pm & left at 11pm for a 3-course meal. Both our main & dessert were forgotten... we had to remind them to bring our dishes & they made us wait even longer afterwards. Waiter never bothered to apologize! Thankfully we had fun & did not complain too much about it...
Ambiance calme & apaisante. Service amical & temps d'attente raisonnable. Je recommande.

Excellent food. The atmosphere is casual & chic at the same time & that is what we love about the restaurant.
We went there with work colleagues from our division in France. Everyone enjoyed their meal & had a good time.
The waiter was nice & cared about us.
The only negative comment I can make regards the squid entrée. The portion was very small. The plate was almost empty. I think they should garnish the plate with some kind of salade just to make the plate look less empty. I felt bad for my colleagues who had ordered that entrée. However, they did mention that it tasted great!
Apart from that, everything was great. Our French colleagues adored the bring your own wine concept, it was their first time in a BYOW & they loved it.
We enjoyed our visit to La Prunelle very much. It was fun dining in a French bistro in the heart of Montreal. Our 3 course meals were delicious & are a memorable part of our visit to the city. Our 2 teenage sons tried foods that they were not familiar with & had a great experience. I wish we lived closer so that we could visit again.
