Since 1999, the restaurant LA PRUNELLE is a bring your wine that imposes itself on the popular Duluth in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal. The chef conveys her passion in each of her dishes, working with products of Quebec dotted with Mediterranean accents. Respecting both the producers of the province and seasonal changes, the menu leads us into an adventure filled with happy detours. One feels immediately at home in this lively and friendly restaurant, overseen by Annie the co-owner and her team. The place is a beautiful and charming space, with large windows that open completely in the summer. One thing is certain, LA PRUNELLE is a very good value for money and is surely one of the finest dining experiences on the Plateau Mont-Royal.
Reviews describe La Prunelle as a warm, intimate French spot in the Plateau with excellent service and consistently delicious dishes. The menu features tartare de boeuf, magret de canard, ris de veau, octopus, and creme brulee, with many noting refined technique, appealing presentation and thoughtful flavor combinations. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, with soft lighting, a lively street view and a pleasant terrace in summer. Bring your own wine is a popular feature, offering good value for both date nights and small gatherings. Some critics note occasional drawbacks such as fries or certain dishes being too salty, or service slowing a bit when the restaurant is busy, and the space can get loud. Service is repeatedly praised as impeccable, attentive, and professional, with staff making guests feel cared for. Repeat visits are common, with guests praising consistency, warmth and quality ingredients. Overall, La Prunelle is seen as a standout neighborhood gem for classic, well executed French cuisine in Montreal, delivering memorable evenings and a welcoming atmosphere.
I organized a dinner with a large group of 20 people. Most of the guests enjoyed the place, the service & the food.
The top dishes were magret de canard, ris de veau (excellent). The mushroom appetizer was also excellent.
The creme brulee with berries as also great.
The team did a great job at serving everyone at the same time.
I definitely recommend this restaurant. It's great at a very reasonable price. & you can bring your own wine.
Nous avons demandé un menu dégustation & quelle surprise de savoir qu'ils nous l'ont fait!!! Incroyablement bon & les employés...excepttionnels!!! Merci pour la belle soirée
I have been going to this restaurant for YEARS. The ambiance in the place is lovely. When you walk in, immediately you know you'll ve back. The food is on another level on it's own. Each & every time you go you're pleasantly surprised at the arrangement of your dish, the quality of the ingredients & the attention to detail. I HIGHLY recommend making this your new date night spot, or bringing guests from out of town to eat great food. & don't ever skip on the creme brulee.
Restaurant conseillé par des amis, nous navons pas été déçu 👍 Nous nous sommes régalés & l'équipe est au top, de la cuisine au service, Merci pour ce moment. On reviendra, c'est certain
Small restaurant on a quiet side Street. Excellent service excellent food ambience was very nice for a meeting of friends. It's a bring your own wine place so that's an advantage for many people & there's an SAQ around the corner.
