Since 1999, the restaurant LA PRUNELLE is a bring your wine that imposes itself on the popular Duluth in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal. The chef conveys her passion in each of her dishes, working with products of Quebec dotted with Mediterranean accents. Respecting both the producers of the province and seasonal changes, the menu leads us into an adventure filled with happy detours. One feels immediately at home in this lively and friendly restaurant, overseen by Annie the co-owner and her team. The place is a beautiful and charming space, with large windows that open completely in the summer. One thing is certain, LA PRUNELLE is a very good value for money and is surely one of the finest dining experiences on the Plateau Mont-Royal.
Reviews describe La Prunelle as a warm, intimate French spot in the Plateau with excellent service and consistently delicious dishes. The menu features tartare de boeuf, magret de canard, ris de veau, octopus, and creme brulee, with many noting refined technique, appealing presentation and thoughtful flavor combinations. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, with soft lighting, a lively street view and a pleasant terrace in summer. Bring your own wine is a popular feature, offering good value for both date nights and small gatherings. Some critics note occasional drawbacks such as fries or certain dishes being too salty, or service slowing a bit when the restaurant is busy, and the space can get loud. Service is repeatedly praised as impeccable, attentive, and professional, with staff making guests feel cared for. Repeat visits are common, with guests praising consistency, warmth and quality ingredients. Overall, La Prunelle is seen as a standout neighborhood gem for classic, well executed French cuisine in Montreal, delivering memorable evenings and a welcoming atmosphere.
Creative french fare & attentive service in a well socially distanced restaurant. The decor is simple chic & the restaurant interior itself is small but with garage-style windows that can open up the whole front (weather permitting). A varied menu & the added benefit of being an BYOB. So visit the SAQ (Quebec liquor store) around the corner at 4008 St Denis before you dine. Recommended!
Interesting concept of the food! We have been La Prunelle customers for at least 15 years. So it was a surprise - totally different . For sure you people would love this way. But the desserts were disappointing ! Trout Tatar , steak & Nordic crevette salad were delicious.
Food was great. Service was very slow which was odd considering we were alone in there. It was also very cold & they didn't turn on the heat until more tables arrived as we were leaving. Server was totally dismissive of my wife which shouldn't happen these days.
Nous avons eu un excellent service du début jusqu'à la fin, nous sommes allés dans le cadre de la semaine Mtl à Table & la table d'hôte était excellent!
I have been here with my family twice prior to yesterday. The first two times were amazing but this last time i wasn't as impressed. We ordered the same dishes as the last two times & they weren't prepared the same, & the dessert was different as well. It was slightly disappointing as we had such high expectations from the last two times
