Located on St-Denis Street in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal, La Panzeria is an authentic Italian restaurant that serves traditional Puglian cuisine + pizza. Puglia is a region in the south of Italy that forms the heel of the famous boot.
The owners of La Panzeria, are both professional bakers and certified chefs from Italy. Whether you come for the pasta, pizza or other dishes such as the Parmigiana, you will definitely feel like in Italy.
La Panzeria shines with authentic Italian flavors, featuring standout focaccia, panzerotti, and simple, well executed dishes that feel fresh and satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and service is attentive and friendly, making it easy to linger over lunch or a relaxed dinner. High quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation deliver bright sauces, pistachio notes, and excellent espresso, with hints of Bari and the Puglia tradition throughout. The concise menu invites exploration and repeat visits to try different regional specialties, while many guests remark on the vibrant textures and balanced flavors. La Panzeria offers a memorable, authentic Italian experience that keeps visitors coming back for more.
The staff explained the menu & it was so useful🙂 Pizza has unique flavor & both are delicious for me (we could chose half & half) & the dough of pizza is amazing ! Lasagna is basic, for me pizza is better :)
First time trying it, friendly staff, the focaccia was good, lasagna & panzerotti were average. For the prices charged the portions were small, it's cold cuts tomato sauce & dough for God's sake. I would recommend it for a fun lunch & coffee, but doubt I'll go back.
I was utterly captivated by the authentic Pugliese cuisine & the incredibly warm service that truly made us feel like family. From the moment we stepped in, the welcoming atmosphere set the stage for what was such a memorable dining experience. The menu, brimming with genuine Pugliese flavors, offered a culinary journey through the South of Italy. Each dish we tried was a testament to the chef's mastery & dedication to traditional recipes. What truly sets La Panzeria apart was the exceptional service! The staff & owners genuine warmth & attentiveness added a personal touch that is rare to find. They went above & beyond to ensure our comfort, sharing stories behind the dishes. In a city that boasts a vibrant food scene, La Panzeria is a shining gem for anyone seeking authentic Pugliese cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exquisite dining experience where you are not just a customer, but a valued guest, treated like family. I am already looking forward to my next visit!!
Drove almost 45 minutes to get to the location in Montreal. No parking to be found nearby which is typical in Montreal, we parked 15 minutes away by foot as it was the only place we could find for parking & walked to the restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant, there were 4 or 5 tables & a few bar seats, & no possibility of being seated as all seats were taken or "reserved". I didn't know we had to reserve & had no idea how small the space actually was. No possibility of reserving via the website or via Google & no indication in the website that it would be best to reserve to ensure you can be seated. We were offered to order take out, which we ended up doing. Walked back to the car & drove back home 45 minutes away in order to eat. We ordered focaccia & pasta with burrata & pistachio. The take out portion of pasta was really small for the price but tasted amazing. The focaccia also tasted amazing, reminded me of the pizzas we ate during our trip to Italy. Truly authentic & super delicious. We would definitely eat here again, but we would have to figure out how to reserve a seat at the restaurant to eat next time as the pasta portions looked larger at the restaurant than for take out. Staff was very nice & loved that everything is made fresh, just a bit disappointed at the limited seating as we were not able to experience the restaurant at it's best due to the lack of seating.
There is just a magical Italian Excellence in this place that is hard to explain. Just try it, & you're guaranteed a five stars experience ! What a gem 🇮🇹 💎

One of my favorite Italian spots in Montreal! They have the best focaccia bombas & octopus sandwiches here. You also need to try their pistachio orecchiette & the tartufo dessert (on the secret menu)
Love the place! But it's small, so unless you reserve, don't show up if you are more than 2 humans. Pistachio & burrata pasta lacked a bit of seasonning but was great still. Focaccia was fluffly & made purfectly but the knives we were given could hardly cut through & it was too thick to bite in as you would a pizza. Ingredients were fresh & good quality, making the pricetag worth it. The service was super friendly & efficient as well. Also, the place was spotless & cleaner than what I am accustomed to in Mtl.
