Located on St-Denis Street in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal, La Panzeria is an authentic Italian restaurant that serves traditional Puglian cuisine + pizza. Puglia is a region in the south of Italy that forms the heel of the famous boot.
The owners of La Panzeria, are both professional bakers and certified chefs from Italy. Whether you come for the pasta, pizza or other dishes such as the Parmigiana, you will definitely feel like in Italy.
La Panzeria is described as an authentic Italian escape in Montreal, where simple dishes made with fresh ingredients deliver bright, flavorful notes and a sense of occasion without heaviness. Reviewers repeatedly praise the focaccia and panzerotti as standout highlights, alongside comforting pastas and orecchiette and a well balanced pesto, with the menu evoking Bari and Puglia traditions. The dining area feels intimate and casual yet vibrant, and service is consistently warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, making meals suitable for quick lunches or relaxed dinners with friends. Many acknowledge a true sense of place that transports guests to Italy through both the food and the atmosphere, and alike praise the overall quality, freshness, and authenticity. A gem of a place with top notch flavors, great vibes, and dishes that showcase traditional techniques and ingredients.
One of my favorite Italian spots in Montreal! They have the best focaccia bombas & octopus sandwiches here. You also need to try their pistachio orecchiette & the tartufo dessert (on the secret menu)
Love the place! But it's small, so unless you reserve, don't show up if you are more than 2 humans. Pistachio & burrata pasta lacked a bit of seasonning but was great still. Focaccia was fluffly & made purfectly but the knives we were given could hardly cut through & it was too thick to bite in as you would a pizza. Ingredients were fresh & good quality, making the pricetag worth it. The service was super friendly & efficient as well. Also, the place was spotless & cleaner than what I am accustomed to in Mtl.

The food is amazing, everything is fresh & delicious! I felt like I was literally in Italy
The focaccia with burrata is veery good & the Lasagna with eggplant instead pasta is to die for 🤤 worth the price! Also the guys are very kind & helpful!
CHEF THANK YOU AGAIN. Merci beaucoup ! Je suis extrêmement touchée. C’était un vrai délice !
Food was out of this world, & the service & staff was also next level. Chef came out to check on us several times & this really elevated the experience. Drinks were amazing (try the Bari Iced Tea) & the two pasta dishes we tried were phenomenal (don’t sleep on the eggplant Parmesan either!!). We will definitely be back on a Sunday to try the Braciole orecchiette.
The place is small but cozy & the service was wonderful. Unfortunately both our coffees & our focaccias were cold - as in cold from the fridge 🥴 It was super disappointing because you can tell they use quality ingredients & the presentation is great, but there is nothing quite like a warm focaccia from the oven.
Took a chance & had the best espresso since my last trip to Italy. Fabulous space with bright music, a great vibe, & efficient & charming staff. I will return on my next visit to MTL soon & get in on some of those amazing looking focaccia & mortadella bites of heaven!
Well done!!!
Grazie mille!!
Food is amazing, great atmosphere, great people who work there. The place seemed frequented by tourists like myself but maintained a very friendly locals establishment vibe. The focaccia was 10/10 best I ever had. They make a great aperol spritz. The carpaccio was also delicious. Wish we had time to make it back while we were in Montreal!
Tiny subterranean spot hidden away in the middle of Saint Denis. Once inside, transported to a whole other vibe altogether - upbeat music, vocal & fun bartenders & servers, & a surprisingly elaborate menu of traditional Italian classics done to perfection. Part cafe, part small resto, but huge on personality & feel, this place is a home run
