Located on St-Denis Street in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal, La Panzeria is an authentic Italian restaurant that serves traditional Puglian cuisine + pizza. Puglia is a region in the south of Italy that forms the heel of the famous boot.
The owners of La Panzeria, are both professional bakers and certified chefs from Italy. Whether you come for the pasta, pizza or other dishes such as the Parmigiana, you will definitely feel like in Italy.
La Panzeria is described as an authentic Italian escape in Montreal, where simple dishes made with fresh ingredients deliver bright, flavorful notes and a sense of occasion without heaviness. Reviewers repeatedly praise the focaccia and panzerotti as standout highlights, alongside comforting pastas and orecchiette and a well balanced pesto, with the menu evoking Bari and Puglia traditions. The dining area feels intimate and casual yet vibrant, and service is consistently warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, making meals suitable for quick lunches or relaxed dinners with friends. Many acknowledge a true sense of place that transports guests to Italy through both the food and the atmosphere, and alike praise the overall quality, freshness, and authenticity. A gem of a place with top notch flavors, great vibes, and dishes that showcase traditional techniques and ingredients.
La Panzeria delivers a truly authentic Italian experience. The food was excellent-simple, well-executed, & full of flavor.
The focaccia was outstanding, easily one of the highlights of the meal. & a special mention for the Bari Ice Tea-a cocktail I had never tried before & an absolute must-try.
Great food, great vibes, & a spot I'd happily return to. Highly recommended.
Kind of overhyped. The focaccia is fine but would have been better if it was heated up. It was kind of doughy. The toppings were good though.
The service was incredibly slow. I wouldn't mind waiting if they had said it would take x amount of time or at least let me know the food would be out soon. Instead they just avoided me completely & pretended I didn't exist. I felt unwelcome & like I was bothering the employees simply by being there.
Overall just kind of underwhelming & incredibly overpriced.

Had an awesome lunch here & will be back. We tried the focaccia barese (diavola) & their panzerotti classico, both were fresh, flavourful & the quality of ingredients was unmistakable. We finished our meal with the tartufo pistachio which was the star of an already fabulous meal. Wow. Definitely recommend!
Super cute place, great for a nice quick lunch. Very small but cozy, will be going back! The focaccia is amazing, friendly staff. We shared a salad, focaccia, sandwich, had coffee & dessert & was around 95$ before the tip. For the freshness of the ingredients not a bad price.
Definitely worth the hype. Also had this place recommended to me by an Italian person so it is authentic. Pasta was a bit unevenly cooked, but both focaccias were 10/10 (I do have a preference for the fig one)
Hands down the best focaccia we've ever tasted-perfectly crisp, fluffy, & full of flavour. The space is small but super cute & cozy, with a great vibe. The drinks were also great. Highly recommend if you're in Montreal & craving something delicious & authentic!
Nice cozy place to have lunch with a special person!
We ordered focaccia & pasta. Both were really good !
I recommend to go there but be careful sometimes you need to wait more than 30min to have a spot!

Complimenti!
The Best Focaccia in Montreal! My third time at this place. The focaccia is really good. The taste is well balanced. My favorite is the one with hot honey sauce topped with figs. I also ordered the pesto pasta which is quite ok. the Local Beer taste good as well. Friendly service. The place is not so big.
I would drive back up to Montreal from Boston to have another one of their focaccia bareses with mortadella, burrata, & pistachios! Felt like I was back in Italy for the hour we were there & wish we had a place like this back in Boston. The place is pretty small & unassuming. They slice the charcuterie to order right in front of you. Everything is top notch quality. Already planning another roadtrip to come here again!
Tried the'Che Figa' focaccia at La Panzeria the other day. The food was fresh & delicious, & the service was fantastic! Will definitely come back soon.
I heard about this place 3 years after meeting the owners & I cannot believe I waited so long to try it.
Both the service & the food was impeccable. I wasn't sure which of the focaccias I wanted to try & they let me do half/half so I got to try both. They accommodate very well & have beef options if you can't/don't eat pork.
Every single person in that restaurant has such a warmth to them that makes you feel so welcome. Definitely making this a weekly stop.
