About us

At la Khaїma (nomad tent), at 142 Fairmount in Mile End, we enter into a nomadic world, a journey through colors, flavors and sensations. Once inside, African music accompanied by a rich fragrance emanating from the kitchen complete the multi-sensory experience that transports you to the Sahara. Couples can enjoy an intimate setting while large groups benefit from Moroccan salon comfort, eating from a long, low table.

The founder, of Mauritanian origin, greets guests and his joie-de-vivre warms the atmosphere. The cuisine is African with a nomad touch. Dishes are prepared with local products following the “Slow Food” concept, creating uniquely spiced tajines that offer an unparalleled taste experience. In accordance with the tradition of the desert, guests share large platters tasting all the flavors on offer, with enough to satisfy even the most demanding of appetites.

Come discover La Khaima’s unique refreshing drink made from the hibiscus flower and their mint tea. These marvelous drinks, in addition to mezzes are available by day at Khaїma cafe, 148 Fairmount. It is a meeting

La nourriture était bonne mais la sèche & froide. Pour le dessert nous n'avons pas pu y goûter puisqu'il ny en avait plus pour nous. Cependant, nous avons tout de même du payer pour puisque s'était une formule à 25$ par personne "all you can eat" mais pas de dessert. Quand nous avons demandé au serveur si nous pouvions avoir un discount puisque le repas n'était pas complet, il a presque rit dans notre face en disant que s'était pas grave & en essayant de nous faire sentir cheap. Pour ce qui est du service il est venu nous voir 4 fois entre, plat , nous dires qu'il n'y aura pas de dessert & facture. Honnêtement je m'attendais à beaucoup mieux de ce restaurant en regardant les reviews sur internet.

Pour le décor je met 5 étoiles c'est très beau. Pour le reste qu'une seul étoile. L'endroit était très froid. Côté nourriture je m'attendais à beaucoup plus. Prix ridiculement cher !!! Staff gentil & serviable .

We loved it! We were staying in Old Montreal but were excited to try Khaima & were so pleased that despite a huge winter storm we made it there! We had a delicious reasonably priced meal! The table d'hote was flavorful & plenty of food! The place was packed but we never felt rushed! All the staff were so friendly & the ambience was really nice! Can't wait to come again!

À mon arrivée, on ne semblait pas être au courant de ma reservation.
J'ai grandement apprécié ma visite. une première fois bien réussie.
Je saurais maintenant que pour la prochaine fois je dois apportez le gâteau d'anniversaire.

Très bonne bouffe! Par contre, apportez une veste chaude car le chauffage est vraiment pas au top. On gelait dans le restaurant. Plusieurs personnes mangeaient meme avec leur manteau.... De plus, c'est un resto avec des ustensiles, vaisselles un peu comme dans une cafétéria... seul le service etait très bien ainsi que la nourriture. Le reste, tres ordinaire....il manquait de place pour ranger nos chaussures & nos manteaux & très difficile de circuler si vous voulez aller au toilette ou vous levez. je recommande seulement pour la nourriture & le decor qui nous fait voyager.
