About us

At la Khaїma (nomad tent), at 142 Fairmount in Mile End, we enter into a nomadic world, a journey through colors, flavors and sensations. Once inside, African music accompanied by a rich fragrance emanating from the kitchen complete the multi-sensory experience that transports you to the Sahara. Couples can enjoy an intimate setting while large groups benefit from Moroccan salon comfort, eating from a long, low table.

The founder, of Mauritanian origin, greets guests and his joie-de-vivre warms the atmosphere. The cuisine is African with a nomad touch. Dishes are prepared with local products following the “Slow Food” concept, creating uniquely spiced tajines that offer an unparalleled taste experience. In accordance with the tradition of the desert, guests share large platters tasting all the flavors on offer, with enough to satisfy even the most demanding of appetites.

Come discover La Khaima’s unique refreshing drink made from the hibiscus flower and their mint tea. These marvelous drinks, in addition to mezzes are available by day at Khaїma cafe, 148 Fairmount. It is a meeting

Je suis allé à ce restaurant pour un anniversaire, nous étions un groupe de 20 personnes & avons été très bien reçus Quand on y entre, on enlève nos chaussures, & on prend place assis sur un petit banc sur des tables basses. Le serveur & cuisinier, Tommy, vient nous voir & nous explique le fonctionnement du restaurant: C'est un menu fixe de plats végétariens ou de viande à partager qui sont tous plus delicieux les uns que les autres. On commence avec un hummus, ensuite un plat principal puis un dessert & un excellent thé marocain qui est servi de manière traditionnelle! Je recommande surtout pour le service & la qualité des plats! Demandez Tommy pour une super expérience.

Food was delicious+ it's a set menu for 30$ each that the cooks does & changes ! Loved that I didn't have to choose & could just enjoy the experience. The cook comes & presents as well what he has prepared for that day! Very lovely would recommend

L'endroit est très joliment décoré, & le chef est très accueillant. Nous étions une tablée de 16 personnes, pas de choix de menu, mais le chef nous a concocté 3 gros plats avec différentes saveurs pour goûter. Nous avons mangé copieusement, tout le monde était très satisfait du choix de restaurant. Je recommande cette adresse. :)

My favorite restaurant in Montreal I try to eat here everytime I am in the city. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is lovely & we always have such a warm welcome from the hosts. I highly recommend this place! Try it you will not regret it!!

L'ambiance était très agréable & la musique également. La nourriture est arrivée extrêmement vite & elle était très bonne. Le propriétaire est super fin & très accueillant!
