Lovely little spot & tasty drinks & pastries.
They have a nice outdoor area
A good example of someone who seems to deeply care about his store & takes pride on the quality of service & food he serves. Great experience every time
J'y vais tout le temps car j'habite à côté. Tout y est bon, le café aussi est bien fait. Je recommande :)
Le petit plus que j'aurais aimé avoir c'est une carte de fidélité ;)
Downstairs cave in old port of montreal. Small but delish croissants & food
I don't know if we ordered wrong or what, but was unfortunately underwhelmed. Pistachio croissant tasted nothing like pistachio. Pan au chocolat lacked sweetness & flavor. Almond croissant was the best thing we got. Everything seemed to be baked fresh in house & service was great.
I've been to here more than once & it never disappoints! The food is always fresh & delicious, & the staff make you feel so welcome. One of my favorite spots to return to.
Be prepared to sit in bird shit.
Desserts are great, servers are nice. But if you decide to eat your $11 pastry outside, there must have been over 100 birds on their terrace & now I have bird shit all over my pants.
Another great discover.
Their rolls are soo good.
The service is professional & excellent.
If you know, you know-& if you don't, you're about to. La Cave à Manger is one of those rare spots that feels like it's been kept secret on purpose. Tucked into the cobblestone charm of Vieux-Montréal, this pastry-meets-wine haven delivers on every front without ever trying too hard.
The pastries? Flaky, buttery, & borderline addictive. Their pistachio roll is a quiet masterpiece, & the croissants are textbook perfect. But it's not just about the sweets-grab a jambon beurre or a slice of their pepperoni pizza & you'll understand why locals whisper about this place like it's sacred.
& then there's the wine. A curated selection of natural bottles that pair beautifully with whatever you're nibbling on. Whether you're popping in for a quick bite or lingering on the terrace with a glass in hand, it never disappoints.
It's effortlessly cool, quietly confident, & always delicious. Hidden gem status: fully earned.
Accessible from the outside, very good bagel with cream cheese that has a nice light texture
I had their pistachio roll (the one that was viral on tiktok for a while), it was good but the cream inside was too much.
Incredible pastries, the almond/ chocolate croissant is filled to the brim. We went twice in 3 days & I wish I could go back. Watch where you sit on the outdoor benches, they are covered in bird shit.
Nice place. It is way better if you get the croissant freshly baked.
Great spot on Rue Saint-Paul but the pain au chocolat is not worth it. It's dry, not very buttery, & a bit dense. The chocolate is good though. Coffee is good. Baked goods not so much. Great people watching.
Je pense l'une des meilleures boulangerie à Montréal pour un café chocolatine ou un bagel.
C'est beau, c'est bon & l'accueil est top.
Delicious pastries! We had the ham & cheese, chocolate almond croissant, & the lemon meringue roll. All delicious!
