La Capital Tacos

We are in Montreal for one month each summer & go at least once to La Capital. Tonight we were seated promptly on arriving at 7:50. We ordered a margherita &, when it arrived, ordered chips & guacamole & two taco plates. Then we waited. & waited. & waited. After 30 minutes we managed to catch our waitress's eye & asked for the guacamole. She said she'd fix it herself, & asked us what we'd ordered. We told her., wondering why she didn't know.... She came back at least 5 minutes later with the chips & dip & said our tacos were being prepared. At 8:40 we asked to see a manager. No manager came. At 8:45 a different server brought us more chips & our bill - including the taco plates! We told her we had not yet received our dinner & were leaving, put cash on the table to cover what we had received, & left. I'm kind of sad. We enjoy a taco night or two during our stay, but we'll have to find somewhere else. I was pleased to see their expansion since our previous visit, but it appears they've grown beyond their capabilities.

We sat on the terrace & the ambience & decorations are quite nice, the only thing that so great is the fact that we are on St-Laurent, a pretty busy road.

The service is always so friendly, & they even allow dogs on their terrace!

The food is probably the best part of the night. Tacos are loaded & amazingly paired with table sauces. I genuinely might be in love with this place, don't tell my girlfriend.

From a Mexican that lived 5 years in Mtl this has been the best Mexican food restaurant so far.

The staff is great, very attentive & the service is top notch.

The carnitas tacos are my recommendation but everything tastes like Mexico! The corn tortilla is amazing!

First of all, they have the best welcoming staff ever, so decent & helpful, all of them ! & thats give us a lovely vibes.

The food not our taste, not wow, average.
Love the shrimp taco more than the beef & the guacamole was good & tasty.

Unfortunately, no chicken option!

The noise of music too loud for us inside the restaurant.

The stars for the lovely staff, they deserve 10 stars out of 5 ❤?

Cold tortillas tacos
When we arrived there was not one to sit us. The waiter took at least 10 min to bring the menus. We were ready to order & it took another 15 min to ask for our order. The order took prob 30 min to arrive. My friend order a quesadilla but the plate is way too small for the quesadilla so the quesadilla filling was falling outside the plate. I got 3 tacos with cold tortillas so clearly they did not take time to warm the tortillas. They did not bring us the sauces. I had to ask a random server for the sauces & she was not happy about it. Nobody asked if we needed something else, another drink, or if everything was fine. We asked for the bill & it took ten minutes for it. We asked for one bill & the waiter brought us two. Horrible service not recommended. Asking for a tip in this place should not be allowed because you barely get serviced. I looked around & people were clearly unhappy as well. The prices are high for what it is offered. A margarita is 16 dollars, but you can find the same prices in better & cleaner places. Also, you can find similar tacos in places with better service. The washrooms were dirty. The cold water was not working in the washrooms. All around a bad experience.
