Since its opening, La Boulette has become a fixture in Rosemont and the diverse clientele represent the people of the neighborhood. Steps from the Beaubien Cinéma, this is the perfect place to enjoy a gourmet burger or a great tartare, before or after a show, with family, friends or a special someone.
The restaurant is renowned for the simple, tasty food and the fresh quality ingredients. We serve local lamb and duck, encouraging Quebec producers and everything is carefully prepared on site with amazing attention to detail. Finally, the wine list offers only private imports and changes depending on new arrivals.
Our Specialties
La Boulette offers guests an authentic and comforting cuisine. Quebec lamb, artisan bread, home-made fries and sweet potato fries. Deluxe Burgers, duck confit poutine, fish and chips. A great variety of tartar; tuna tartare, deer tartar, beef tataki. The wine list is only carefully chosen private import.
LA BOULETTE shines as a cozy neighborhood spot where burgers, tartares and poutines are consistently praised and the vibe is warm and unpretentious. The menu is noted for generous portions and fresh ingredients, with standout items such as the blue cheese burger, gravlax and a well balanced poutine. The service is described as friendly, attentive and sincere, helping create a welcoming atmosphere for friends, families and colleagues. The setting is intimate with a small room and a sunny terrace in summer, and the pricing is considered good value for the quality. Occasionally the space gets noisy and pacing can be uneven, but the overall impression is that LA BOULETTE is a reliable favorite that many people return to.
A little cozy hamburger restaurant, I took the poutine tho :P It was really good!!! It was duck confit poutine with a sauce au vin, I even had enough for a second meal XD
i ordered a large poutine not too long ago to go. the fries were a very nice cut & cooked nice & dark without being burnt & it felt like they even added flaky salt which is always a nice touch. the gravy was also nice & dark which gave me the impression it would taste good. alas it did not & it the portion was very small... the gravy tasted like it had the ketchup in it. why someone would want to put ketchup in the gravy for poutine, i do not know. i trust that maybe there is a good reason for this ketchup but even then, it was too much... they should have at least advertised that it will taste like ketchup if that's the route they want to go for. i was looking forward to coming back as the rest of their menu looked very tasty but it is hard for me to have faith if they can't even get their province's signature traditional dish correctly. the waiter was very nice though
We've been coming here for a few years & the place was always really good, but it's getting better & better.
We'd always come for the lovely, fancy burgers. Those are very special. The pulled-pork sandwich is absolutely delectable as well - made on site, sweet & salty & just perfect.
Then one day, on a whim, my wife decided she didn't feel like meat & ordered the Fish Filet sandwich.
Now, Fish Filet sandwiches are easily overlooked at burger joints, even fancy ones like this one. It's just not the reason you go there. So she wasn't expecting much & then...WOW! She was completely blown away. I had a taste, & I was too!
Fluffy & light & greasy & garlicky in all the perfect proportions, it's just sensational: the best thing on the menu, hiding in plain sight.
These days, we don't even think about the burgers at La Boulette anymore: we go directly for that incredible Fish sandwich.
But we can't help but notice that everything else in the place is also improved. The side salads are now really quite impressive, the salad-repas choices make compelling burger alternatives, the Sweet Potato fries are out of this world. (Actually, they're more like sweet potato tempura.) Plus the poutine is among the best in Montreal.
The decor is still stylish, the service still friendly & fast even amid a Friday & Saturday night rush. & prices are fair - they'll seem exorbitant for burgers, but then this place has more in common with a fancy restaurant than with McDonald's. Absolutely recommended.
