The Tomahawk steak for two at 160$ is way over priced for the quality they served. The quality of the meat was commercial it was though & chewy. Not the place to order a Tomahawk steak. The presentation was nice the veggies were cooked to perfection but overall not worth the money.

J'ai été mangé la samedi le 8 déc 2018. Sérieusement c'est rire du monde charger 9$ une petite entrer de salade césar & que le dressing sois commercial en bouteille meme pas fait par leur chef. J'ai pris le Veau parmigiana qui dissent dans leur menu légèrement pané. C'étais un morceau congeler commercial avec plein de panure pas mangeable avec le fromage calciner sur le dessus j'ai pris deux boucher & retourner l'assiette mais croyez moi il me l'ont charger quand meme le 25$. Le plat de ma femme 25$ un petit morceau de poulet, 1 carotte, 2 fèves verte & 2 petite patate grolo. & je ne parle pas des chaises inconfortable pas de place entre les tables pour passer. Service minable j'ai du me lever après 10min que j'avais demander pour mon verre d'eau pour aller me le remplir moi-même au comptoir. Vraiment pas une place que je recommanderais a personnes.

The folks at L'Academie care about customers. I used UberEatz to get my food & don't know if (but don't discount the possibility that) i pressed the wrong button or if something went wrong on the other end, but when I order arrived some of the dishes weren't what I thought I had ordered & my son didn't want what we got. The food was tasty just not his taste..

I called the restaurant, explained the situation to the manager & explained that I'm a single wheelchair mom & after we spoke he actually drove to our house & brought my son a veal dish that was a much better choice for him.

The food was great, but seriously, when you find any small business that cares this much, you have to support it. I know we will be back as often as we can & encourage you to order with confidence as L"Academie cares about customer satisfaction & they are clearly willing to go several extra miles if necessary.to ensure.you enjoy your meal.

the veal was so tough & tasted bad like fatty & the waitress was not very pleasant she was in so much hurry to take our plates away i had very bad experience

Worst service that i have experienced in years.We went there for a birthday dinner on the 25th of Sept. Sunday.The reservation was for 6pm.We were seated & were presented to the waitress -Nour.
We ordered the appetizers it took the waitress 15 min. To bring them & additional 30min to bring the complementary bread & butter.She was constantly distracted by something else , which is never a good experience for the client.Eventually when she brought the bread & butter we gave her our order with the main course. (5 people ) & asked for additional appetizer . The second set of appetizers took 30 min to come & additional 45min for the main course.The waitress was nowhere to be seen & of course that reflected our dinner experience.Finally after i requested the bill & paid ( i also tipped her) the waitress decided that her tip is not sufficient enough & came back to the table asking where was the problem.At this time i had no need to explain myself neither do i think that i had to .After our short conversation the waitress went back to her station & started talking to the other waiters constantly pointing at my table.I think that this absolutely not professional & i went to her asking for explanation for her behavior.She explained that the service was not her problem & that it was my fault asking for second appetizer.To which i replied that as a customer i can ask for everything on the menu if i feel so & that her behaviour is absolutelly insulting.I left my dinner was ruined as well as the birthday celebration.I will not go back ...

Firstly, the ambience. We were seated near a larger party (even though I had booked days in advance)which included many children. I know it is up to the parents to take care of their kids in a restaurant, but to have them climbing between banquettes, running & yelling around the tables, etc, for the whole meal while their parents stared at their cellphones was too much & the management did absolutely nothing, never showed their faces. At one point there was an eighteen month old crawling under the tables next to us, right beneath the feet of the waiter. The parents thought it was then time to play with them by chasing them around.

Secondly the service. Our waiter was totally disinterested in making us happy & comfortable. It took way too long for him to come & open our wine. The used plates from the first course sat in front of us for 15 minutes before he picked them up. He had walked by looking at our table many times before he thought to clear the plates. Plates of empty mussel shells had to be put on an empty table next to us. We had to continually ask twice for water fill-ups. No smile ever came to his face.

Lastly the food. Just OK. Calamars were good, mussels fine (hard to go wrong). Carbonara full of cream (or was it evaporated milk) no eggs. It was like an Alfredo with ham. Penne con pollo was absolutely terrible. Chicken pieces seemed boiled, tough, tasteless.

I would highly recommend that you stay away from this restaurant. Even though this could only be considered a family restaurant, not suitable for intimate dinners by any stretch of the imagination, there is still some behaviour from diners that is unacceptable & should be taken care of by the management. Never again!

Food is always good & can't complain about the staff. Every time I have been the food has been good. Not great but good. It is a little noisy & not cozy because the ceiling are so high but it's a great price. They have great lunch specials.

As soon as I pushed open the door to this restaurant the first thing that hit me was how noisy the restaurant is; I mean loud, VERY LOUD, loud like a big Chinese buffet restaurant, so I chose to sit outside on the sidewalk terrace & it was quite pleasant. We ordered the Watercress & Lime Soup which was very bland & didn't seem to have enough watercress in it to even make it a vibrant green; the Escargots Gratinee were dry despite the oil (how did they manage that?); & the Mussels with Roquefort Sauce which were served with what looked like homemade fries. The one star that I gave for the food here was for the Roquefort sauce which was very tasty but I had two mussels that were so full of big grit that I was afraid that I could damage my teeth if I tried another one & the fries, also, while tasty were extremely greasy & limp. The service was extremely slow & unprofessional: The mussel entrées were delivered before both the soup & the escargots which were both delivered at the same time. The reasonable prices at this restaurant may be the appeal for some patrons but I wouldn't return here.

WARNING TO VEGETARIANS! Everything has chicken broth in it - All soups & even the tomato sauces! We always specify that we're veg just in case & every waiter we've had assured us its all good... Then got a veg waiter & told us this. I've asked if they could simply put vegetarian or mushroom broth instead but they ignored me.

The decor is really nice.... The menu is really lacking in diversity; either pasta or mussels... Food & service are so-so... Really only went before because its BYOB. With the lack of options for my family, its pretty useless to go back.

Tellement déçue! J'ai eu plein de bon commentaires sur ce resto, j'y suis donc allé dans le temps de fêtes avec des amis. C'est un très bel endroit, mais le bruit est assourdissant dès qu'on traverse la porte d'entrée! J'ai dû tout le long du souper, crier afin de comprendre mon ami de l'autre coté de la table, le service est horrible, ils sont tellement occupé, ont dirait des poules pas de tête, donc notre serveur n'a pas nécéssairement porté très attention à nous. La nourriture est passable, je ne repaerais pas pour ce qu'on m'a servis, moche à regarder.

I've eaten at this location about a half-dozen times, exclusively for business-related luncheons; can't recall being disappointed once.

Sizable menu in a BYOW setting makes L'academie a moderate-priced destination. The food is above-average, but in this diners opinion, comparable to other like-style bistros. The service is always on-point & professional, with only one slow-service experience (attributable to a fairly busy lunch crowd). Would definitely re-visit this resto.

(souper à 2)Le service était courtois & efficace le décor moderne & fonctionnel ce qui aurait été parfait pour un souper d'affaires l'ambiance n'est pas très intime. Quant à la nourriture rien à redire j'ai aimé mon entrée de calmar & mon saumon était frais & délicieux par contre les portions m'ont laissé sur ma faim. On peut y amener son vin ce qui est toujours un plus à mon avis. Ma compagne qui raffole des fruits de mer n'a pas trop apprécié les moules. Côté prix c'est à la limite du raisonnable côté qualité/prix environ 100$ pour deux personnes incluant le pourboire.

Décevant un peu sans dénigrer le restaurant. il fallut un bon moment avant de comprendre la personne attitrée à notre table puisque trois personnes venaient nous voir à différents moments. Le serveur ne savait pas nos commandes en arrivant à la table & le fameux commis qui versait de l'eau sur la table chaque fois qu'il remplissait nos verres.. c'était un peu poche mais rien de plus nourriture très correct & beau restaurant.

Nous y etions pour un petit party de retraite. Par contre je vais souvent entre amies & j'aime bien car personne nous presse a se depecher, ,le personnel toujours tres sympatique. Les potages tres bons & tres gouteux.

I've eaten at this restaurant twice, & would go back again. It's reasonably priced, & there's a good selection on the menu, & the food is decent. That being said, I would have given it another star if they used a bit less salt (in the soups in particular) & did not serve canned mushrooms with my Veal Marsala--locally grown fresh mushrooms would have elevated the dish considerably!

My wife ordered the Mussels with an Italian (Marinara?) sauce, & it was fairly good, but lacking something--perhaps more basil, it was tough to say exactly, but otherwise still tasty.

The fresh bread they serve is excellent, with a nice chewy crust & soft & fresh within (perfect for dipping into the Mussel sauce!

The decor is modern & pleasant but the noise level was high the day we were last there as it was a Sunday & thus very busy, with more parties taking place, & this is to be expected--it's better during weeknights.

Considering that this is a chain, I'd say everything is good, better than expected, & also as a BYOB you don't get raked over the coals on the cost of wine, making it a much more affordable choice than many other places with a similar menu.

Most customers will be satisfied with their meal, & the service, which in general is friendly & fast, although will be slower during the weekends when they are very busy!

This was my first time here, it was highly recommended for bring your own wine, & was told food was good for price range.
This was my experience, & please read full story, as how it started was not how it finished.. Must read!!!
I entered Pointe-Claire location, was so impressed by decor & ambiance. Staff, at first seemed rushed.
The Menu was quite tantalizing, & quickly selected the Specials of the day, myself Chicken Supreme with Asparagus soup... My companion Salmon with Soup as well.
My first soup came with a hair in it, they quickly replaced it, went to ladies room, came back from ladies room, next soup another hair. Was so upset, ready to leave.. manager Linda came up to me, was so sweet, asked me to remain & offered gift certificate for future visit. When main course came, my companion Salmon was perfect, they even exchanged sauce to a delicious herbal one for him. My chicken, pink... couldn't eat it. Almost in tears, I was ready to leave. The manager Linda, made sure my dish was re-done, & I have to say.. was one of THE BEST chicken dishes I ever had in my life. Chicken stuffed with Camembert & caramelized pears with asparagus, carrots & corn on the side. Linda also gave us a delicious dessert on the house. What started as a bad experience, turned into phenomenal one.. They were accommodating, understanding, & compassionate. I have been a waitress for over 15 years & know service & good food. I cannot believe how much they turned my opinion around & that, by chance, I was just a little unlucky at first. All other customers seemed happy, & I, in the end was ECSTATIC. I will DEFINITELY return. I have not met a MANAGER (LINDA) so sweet, so understanding.. that I know it was a fluke for first part of experience. I will definitely return. The food was really terrific... & please know, that all that happened, I understand, was pure dumb bad luck. I thank you LINDA for your INCREDIBLE managerial skills, how you handled things & how you made my experience go from negative to AMAZING. I wish this restaurant implicit success.. Linda, you are a gem... & I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends & clients(even at my restaurant). Thank you for end result.... I know it was just silly luck, & so happy for end result. Bless!!!!!!
