Shrimp tempura is a must try ! Loved their options in Japanese drinks - cocktails, sake & also non alcoholic. Takoyaki, gyoza, kimchi & the mackerel was great ! Also tried the duck tataki, it was succulent & very flavorful! Karrage bites were big & the sauce was amazing. It was the first time I tried hot sake & it was fun to play the cup game with the host. This place can get super busy so its best to make reservations. Fun for a big group looking forward to catching up over drinks & snacks !!
A wonderful bar with an excellent menu-for both drinks & food! The Mt Fuji cocktail is absolutely delicious & the staff were wonderful

Cette brasserie japonaise est une des meilleures places pour venir entre amis ou en famille, passer un bon moment 🥳 La nourriture est excellente & il y a énormément de choix ! Les shrimp tempura & le mackerel grillé sont EXCELLENTS 🤤 Ils ont des drinks avec alcool & des mocktails ! À essayer !
First time here & I absolutely love it !!! The space is nice to come with your friennds & or family to drinks/cocktails & the FOOOD absolutely delicious! We left satisfied with the amount of food given & the attention to details! I highly recommend the tempura as well as the ramen with karaage + chicken katsu

The waiter was very helpful to pick out the best entrees to share. All was delicious.

Truly disappointed. Don't let you fool by the 4.6 rating. Excellent service, but food is just to avoid. Go there for the drink & vibe. We took 3 items to eat & they were all bad- sorry- will never come back.
Good Izakaya vibes with an impeccable service as always. The squid is well grilled & very fresh. The Okonomiyaki is my favorite ~
It's always nice to have a sake, plum wine, or sapporo to balance well with the food!
For a Wednesday, it's a perfect place to drink cold sake & relax. I may recommend making a reservation if it's during the weekends, though, since it's busier, but worth to pass by & try some new dishes

I only ate the main dishes & they were OK. But the SERVICE. MAN THE SERVICES WAS FIRE. THAT MAN KNEW HIS CITIES. great guy! Also the aesthetic is amazing. ( Photos attached). If you want a place to chill & drink with friends I would go here for the vibes. P.S park at the movie theatre.
I've been to Kyodai twice now, & both experiences were wildly different, with the second visit being quite upsetting & unfortunate.
I'll start with the first visit. My partner & I stopped in there to grab a drink while we waited for our reservation at another place, this was back in January. The staff were super nice with us & we were chatting quite a bit, & they gave us some menu cards to share with others & a stamp card. We were hype, it was a great time! We left & went to our other stop, then we decided to come back for more dinks. The staff welcomed us back & once again we were talking lots & had a wonderful time. They asked us to leave a Google review & I wanted to, but I decided to wait til I could go back to get some food & take photos to add with the review. So I convinced a couple friends by telling them about our experience & sharing the menu, & we all excitedly chose a date & made a reservation.
Onto our second visit. We had a reservation last night (so early March) & it was not nearly as friendly or enjoyable. The staff didn't remember us which was fine & expected, though a little sad. After about 15minutes, myself & the two others we brought had ordered drinks about 10mins before my partner arrived, & we didn't get those drinks til about another 10-15mins after he arrived. We then waited another 20mins at least before I had to waive someone over to take our order. It took a long time for food to come out, which I sort of expected with it all being made fresh & it was a busy night, but items came out in staggeringly different times. One of us had also ordered a miso soup & we asked for it again twice before we decided to just take it off of our order. We also asked for water when we placed our first drink order, & again when we ordered our food, & we had to ask a third time, we didn't get water until after all our food had come out, so about an hour & a half into our visit. Some of the food was good & very tasty, but much of it was disappointing. The squid was overcooked & very tough, the korroke were overcooked & hard, the udon noodle soup was very oily, the tonkatsu ramen seemed like it was made with instant noodles, the sabo & duck tataki had way too much ponzu, it was like it was in a pool of it. We also noticed that we consistently were seeing other tables getting served much faster than us & having much more attention from the staff, while we never had anyone check on us & had to keep asking for things. It was like we were non existent. We decided to leave, & admittedly the person who paid said they didn't overlook the receipt before paying because they just kind of wanted to get out, but a couple hours later we looked at the receipt & saw we were charged for 2 pitchers of Sapporo for 44$. We never ordered Sapporo or any kind of pitcher, so there's absolutely zero reason we should have been charged for such. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Both of these instances feel like we were in two completely different places, & given how much fun & how much we enjoyed the staff when we first went, I never would have thought we'd return to have an experience that felt so opposite. I would like to think that it was just a busy night or they were understaffed or something, but that last experience was very saddening & I really don't think I would come back after that. I'll still give a couple stars because of how our first visit went.
Great food, great ambiance to have drinks & a meal with friends, staff was super friendly & gave us great recommendations on the menu! Will definetly go back!
We surprised our friend in that restaurant & we had an excellent experience. We were suppose to be 14, but 4 people couldn't make it. Eddie our waiter was so understanding of the situation & ask us the permission, so politely, to liberate one of the tables of four. He gave each everyone of us a personalized experience & suggested us some excellent options, especially for drinks. Our friends were even able to order some classic cocktails that were not on the menu. You'll have a great portion of some delicious food & the ambiance in there is great! Our friend (that we surprised) got even a cake that Eddie brought. Eddie will even remember you, even if you only went there once before, as he did for me:)
Kyodai Izakaya exceeded all my expectations with its impeccable service & mouthwatering dishes! A special shoutout to Eddy, who went above & beyond by accommodating us with a custom drink change. His attention to detail & warm hospitality truly stood out. The katsu chicken with curry rice was nothing short of divine. Every bite was pure ecstasy, perfectly cooked, & bursting with flavor. To top it off, they surprised me with a delightful green tea cake to celebrate my birthday, which was both thoughtful & utterly delicious. Kyodai Izakaya is a must-visit for anyone looking for exceptional Japanese cuisine paired with outstanding service. I'll definitely be back!
We had the best cocktail ever, I've never had anything like it before (it's the plum tremblant) with sake & jasmine green tea. Would definitely come back here just for that drink alone!!
Food was out of this world. I had the pork Katsu curry & it was fantastic. Dumplings & all these other appetizers I tasted were also really good. The only thing that was lacking was the cocktail menu. None of their drinks had descriptions, so you had no idea what was in them, & the staff had to go & check anytime we asked. Aside from beer & sake, that was all they had, which was a bit disappointing.
This was excellent! Food was on point Japanese. Duck tataki is out of this world good. Curry & ramen both absolutely on point. Excellent imported plum wine. All the tapas style food was fantastic. Staff loves their job & it shows. They were able to whip up a delicious mocktail for my friend who doesn't drink without an issue. 5 of us went & nothing hit the table that wasn't great. Give it a try you wont regret it! Apologies for the duck photo we were to excited & ate some before taking the pic 😜
Every other week I find myself at this amazing restaurant! The food is amazing;I recommend their noodle dishes, & the drinks are great too. The atmosphere is very rustic & cozy; a perfect spot for a date or a night for some drinks & good food.
Was travelling from vancouver & stumbled upon this gem! Amazing service drinks & food! Couldn't have asked for more! Deff will be back next time I visit James
