Krapow draws praise for flavorful, well balanced dishes that capture authentic Southeast Asian flavors, with beef krapow and beef rendang among the standout favorites and soups like laksa and tom kha gai earning high marks for aroma and depth. Spice levels are generally well balanced and adaptable, with many diners appreciating that heat can be adjusted, though some dishes may be spicy for sensitive palates. Gluten free options are widely available, and several reviews note that the food is safe for celiacs, with vegetarian and vegan choices regularly highlighted. The atmosphere is described as intimate and lively, often with friendly service, but the space is small and seating can feel crowded; practical concerns include cold drafts near the door, limited back supporting chairs, and slippery floors. Prices are seen as reasonable with generous portions that can provide multiple meals, though a few comments mention a small menu and occasional issues such as miscalculated tips when paying by card.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the food!! It's flavourful, well-balanced & is not overwhelming. Since I do not eat spice so I was a bit apprehensive when all of their dishes are marked spicy. The wait staff who forwarded outstanding service to us assured me that the food's spicy level is well-tolerated & she was absolutely correct. The flavour of the food is extremely delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. I have been to Satu Lagi, another Indonesian/Malaysian Southeastern Asian restaurant area & we love the food there too but I find the food at Krapaw to be more down to earth, authentic & wholesome without everything coconut. I love coconut & its flavour, don't get me wrong but when you have every dish being coconut based, it gets old a bit after a while. & I am thrilled to find Krapaw's chefs being able to create dishes with variety of ingredients. & we are very grateful for the patience of the wait staff who was able to explain the dish to us as well as customizing the vegetarian dish the Lodey to include meat for my children. The soup is absolutely delicious with its addition of fried tofu, an ingredient that I never knew can exist in tumeric & cumin soup. Another thing to check out at this restaurant is the earrings on sale that are handcrafted by the owner's daughter as the wait staff mentioned to me. They are beautifully designed, very elegant with innovative forms & shapes that are aesthetically refreshing.
The only thing that I took one star off is its setting. I wish they have chairs with backs or more hooks for customers to hang their winter jackets & to change its tiles to be non-slip in the seating area. Chairs without backs & with only limited amount of hooks around are a bit difficult during winter when the customers have no place to hang their jacket & have to resort to placing them on the stools which can result in the jackets getting dirty when they fall especially when they are long &/or get splashed on with food especially when they eat Lodey (like what happened with my child). The tiles in the seating area can get very slippery when the customers step on them with snow from outside & that could potentially be a safety hazard with especially senior citizens & the mobility challenged.
The food was very mid. Not spicy at all, I nibbled on the whole pepper they gave to add heat to the meal. Flavours were not complex, the Laksa soup tasted like a can of coconut milk without spice. I don't like giving bad reviews but I truly do not understand all the hype & positive reviews. The girl working service was incredibly nice & helpful, I would go back just to see her.

Amazing waitress, first time eating Asian & it was really good. Check the level of spice on your menu because 2 🔥is SPICY. However, 1🔥 is good for anyone. Loved the laksa vegan, the sauce was so good too. We could see the kitchen & see the chef cook so really nice vibe overall.
Amazing food! Great taste & fully gluten-free menu! No issues so far with Celiac. Savory & medium spicy main dishes.
Desserts not too sweet & just the right amount. Super recommend.
The food was delicious 😋 I recommend for a quick & spicy bite on the plateau. They also have a few booze options & a couple of tables outside in the summer.
Gluten free friendly, simple, light, & healthy. Everything on the menu is spicy, but even though I have low tolerance to spicy, I was able to eat most of the krapow beef I ordered. I took out the rest. Still for what it is, I thought it was a bit pricey.
So far I've only had the Chicken Sambal twice, but both times it was tasty & quite filling. I think the only complaint I have about it, is that while it's labeled as very spicy it's actually not spicy at all. But you can always request it to be spicier to your taste. My only actual issue with the place is that both times I went, flies were everywhere & constantly harassing you for your food.

Great food, Great Service. I ordered Poulet Sambal (chicken). I recommend it! Krapow is a delightful little restaurant that offers an intimate dining experience with only about six tables inside & an outdoor seating option. The space might be small, but the flavors are immense! The atmosphere is cozy, & the open kitchen allows you to watch the chef expertly prepare each dish fresh in front of you. It's impressive to see just one cook skillfully handle all the orders while maintaining high quality. The service is friendly & attentive, making you feel right at home. The portions are generous & reasonably priced, offering great value for money. Each dish is beautifully presented & packed with authentic flavors. The only minor downside is that a dish listed as spicy was actually mild, but that's a small issue in an otherwise fantastic dining experience. If you're looking for delicious Thai & Indonesian cuisine, Krapow is a must-visit!
The Sambal chicken is out of this world & tasty. The coconut rice & baby bok choy served as accompaniment are delightful. They include a bird chilli you can cut up if you like spice so that works for me.
Their Tom Kha is not spicy enough imo, but still tasty.
They just moved location & the new place is very cute with more space to sit. Their music is also always great. Basically, I'm a huge fan.
