Furthermore, Koyo has a wide assortment of foods that will surely fill you stomach with their buffet & all you can eat style. The service is also really great & especially the staff are really funny/friendly.
Sushi fresh & big portions. New bar for soups, fruits, ice cream! Nice place!
Koyo has done more than just changing its name. Food is fresh & tasty, variety ir great & everyone is nice. I am big portion person so I don't think there's a place a prefer to eat sushi. But even if you're not someone that eats a lot I would give it try bringing friends or family.
Il faisait vraiment froid dans le restaurant, on a dû garder nos manteaux.
Le service du buffet était correct.
Pas beaucoup de choix de crème glacée.
La qualité & le goût des plats étaient en dessous de la moyenne.
I'm filing a formal complaint... against my own lack of self-control.
I honestly came here just for a quick bite on Décarie, but Koyo Sushi clearly had other plans for me. I am currently writing this while suffering from a severe food coma, & I have zero regrets.
Let's talk about the Sashimi (see my photos if you don't believe me).
Usually, when you order salmon at mid-range spots, you get these sad, paper-thin slices that look like they've been on a diet. But here? Look at that orange color. That is high-definition fish. The slices were so thick they should honestly charge rent. The fat marbling was perfect-it literally just dissolved on my tongue. I almost ordered a second round, but I needed to save room for the rolls, which was a dangerous decision.
The Rolls:
I don't know what kind of engineering degree the chef has, but the structural integrity of these rolls is impressive considering how much topping they piled on.
The Spicy Crab & Tobiko one: It's a mountain of crab meat. A literal mountain. The popping texture of the fish eggs mixed with the creamy crab? Unfairly good.
The Crispy Onion one: This was the MVP. The crunch from the onions vs. the soft rice & spicy mayo... it's a texture bomb. It's messy, it's saucy, & it's exactly what sushi should be. None of that dry, boring stuff.
The Vibe & Service:
The place was buzzing, which is usually a good sign (never trust an empty sushi restaurant, right?). The staff were running around like ninjas making sure everyone got fed. They didn't hover over me, which I appreciate because I prefer to inhale my food in peace.
Verdict:
If you are on a diet, do not come here. You will fail.
If you like eating generous portions of fresh fish until you can't walk straight, this is your spot.
I'm definitely coming back, but I might need to wear stretchier pants next time. 10/10 would recommend.
Honestly, the best all you can eat sushi in the area.
The service is great & for an all you can eat restaurant the quality food is amazingly good!!!
Dissapointed!! Not worth to spend your time & money!
sometimes outright terrible food. We paid $100 for two people on a Sunday evening, which was completely unjustified.
The buffet was extremely disappointing: French fries, rice, soups, noodles (absolutely awful & possibly spoiled), plus some vegetables & fruit. Nothing special, nothing worth the price.
The place was dirty, & the atmosphere felt cheap & unpleasant. Some sushi & sashimi were so cold that my sensitive teeth were in shock - I ended up suffering from tooth pain for the rest of the evening after this visit.
Do not waste your time or money here. Montreal has plenty of much better places at the same price point.
-Assiette & restaurant sales.
-nourriture sans goûts, sec, froide & de mauvaise qualité. Préparée trop d'avance.
- le staff bien gentil.
C'est un restaurant pour les gens qui n'ont pas le palais trop fin.
This restaurant was honestly not the best. The food wasnt good, it was pretty meuuuhh
Food was bad & the hot food bar was cold & flavourless. For the price which is like 116 for 2 people you get supermarket sushi & calamari that make u question whats really in them.
What used to be called Kanda, or Canda Sushi, is now rebranded as Koyo Sushi. Comparing the old management to the new one, Koyo is definitely an improvement. The sushi tasted better, felt fresher, & there was more variety. Prices are about the same as before.
The only downside is the limited parking space. They also offer a small open buffet that's included in the all you can eat price per person, which is a nice touch. I'd probably come back to try it again.
Too much variation & food choices & none were perfectly made, have all kind of Chinese food & dim sum... But none of quality
The only good dish we really like are the beef skewers... A bit disappointed for the price.
Exceptional service but below average food
The sushi fish are kind fresh but tasteless
It was my first time, the restaurant was clean, the service was great, the food was fresh & really good, they have a nice variety 5⭐? well deserved.
The only thing is you most probably will have to wait for a parking space.
January 2026: Friendly & accommodating staff. Nice self-serve buffet, & hot food on the tablet was mostly good, but the sushi was all tasteless mush. The rolls with crab, shrimp, salmon, tuna all tasted the same. The Thai roll was the worst as it only tastes like syrup. 20 minute wait didn't really help either. Wish we could make reservations, especially since there is a time limit.
August 2025: the sushi was good at this point, not sure what happened.
New year eve sushi was not fresh. It was prepared befoew hand. Some were dry. Buffet was not allways filled up. Too expensive for that evening
Malgré le fait qu'on est venue 30 mins avant la fermeture, on a était servie d'une belle façon est la qualité de la nourriture était assez bonne! Pas de complaintes de ma part. Je reviendrais.
