About

Ken Ching delivers an authentic exploration of Chinese and Szechuan culinary traditions through a menu defined by bold aromatics and precise heat levels. The kitchen emphasizes classic stir-fry techniques, utilizing fresh vegetables and high-quality proteins to create balanced textures in every dish. Patrons encounter a wide array of flavors ranging from mild, savory preparations to the signature numbing spice of regional specialty sauces. The preparation style focuses on speed and intensity, capturing the traditional spirit of Asian cooking methods while maintaining consistency across the entire menu selection. Dedicated workstations allow for the simultaneous creation of complex soups, crispy appetizers, and hearty noodle entrees. This establishment functions as a reliable hub for those seeking robust, flavor-forward meals prepared according to time-honored recipes that define the depth of Szechuan and wider Chinese gastronomic heritage.

Review Summary

Ken Ching receives a wide range of feedback highlighting its status as a top destination for authentic Chinese cuisine in Laval, with many guests praising the freshness of the dishes, particularly the peanut butter dumplings, hot and sour soup, and General Tao chicken. While the quality of the food frequently earns high marks, experiences vary significantly regarding service consistency, wait times, and kitchen operating hours, which have frustrated some patrons. Some visitors find the pricing and portion sizes highly satisfactory for family dining, while others suggest improvements in cleanliness and staff attentiveness. Ultimately, the restaurant is often seen as a reliable and flavorful choice for those seeking traditional recipes, despite occasional inconsistencies in order accuracy and preparation styles.

This place is definitely one of Laval's best kept secrets. My family & I discovered this restaurant today by accident as most places in the area had long lineups for Mother's Day brunch. We had salt & pepper pork chops which were cooked to perfection. Also, try their Eggplant on a Hot Stone Pot with lots of rice. Fair prices & good portions. Highly recommended if you enjoy authentic Chinese food like the ones served in Chinatown. Restaurant is clean & has a nice cozy ambiance to it. Perfect for groups. The owner & their staff are super nice as well. We will definitely be back!

We visited the restaurant Last Monday Sept 4 (Labour day) five of us, 4 adults & one child. We ordered the option for 4 adults, 6 main dishes 4 small soups & rollers all very tasted & pleasant. One thing missing maybe owner should consider is oriental environmental music. I live in Laval, & I recommend this restaurant.

Great, I love the service, the foods great, one thing that can improve would have to be the atmosphere.

Usually the food here is hot & fresh whether dining in or taking out. Tonight was not a good Night. Won ton soup was ok but not hot. Egg rolls were hard like a rock & were not fresh. The Wong wing egg rolls I buy at IGA are better. The main dishes came, also not very hot, didn't seem fresh, tasted ok, the general Tao chicken had no zing to it. It was more like pineapple chicken. It will be a long time before we return. In general, restaurants in laval are losing their appeal with poor quality & lack Lustre service.

First time dining on this place but I'm disappointed:( food is good but the portion was too small for the price you pay . Not worth paying more than 100$ for a family of 5. Hate to do this but it's only 2⭐️
