Nice atmosphere but inexperienced serving staff & basic/not tasty food.

Honestly disappointed. The restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere & interior design. But the rest fell short.
- didn't have items on the menu & wine
- we asked for an English menu, server said they didn't have it, but we saw it at the entrance on the way out.
- ordered Diet Coke, it was a glass of ice with a splash of Diet Coke to taste
- ordered the Bavette medium rare & it was over cooked. What's worse was the steak was cut into slices, so it's not even like they didn't see it or know. Served me anyways. No excuses there.
- felt pressured to pay for bottled water
- server handed me the bill because I was closer instead of in the middle of me & my boyfriend, would've expected a bit more etiquette with the positioning of the restaurant.
I wouldn't have minded any of the above, but then don't charge me like a legit restaurant. Don't ask me how I want my steak cooked if you only cook it one way.
We had high expectations & unfortunately were quite disappointed. I hope the feedback can help them continuously improve to match the food & service for the price & ambiance.

Très déçue de mon expérience au restaurant Kava à Griffintown.

La nourriture était beaucoup trop salée & le service franchement médiocre. Les serveurs nous pressaient de commander de manière insistante, ce qui a rendu l'expérience désagréable du début à la fin.

Le plus choquant : nous avons été suivies dans les toilettes par des serveuses, probablement parce que nous sommes jeunes, alors que nous ne faisions absolument rien de mal.

Nous avons donc choisi de ne pas laisser de pourboire, mais il a été ajouté directement sur le terminal de paiement, ce qui est inacceptable. Le pourboire devrait rester optionnel, surtout quand le service n'est pas à la hauteur.

Pour une table d'environ 500 $, être traité de cette façon est tout simplement ridicule. Je ne reviendrai pas.

Waited 1hour plus

Our group (with reservation) didn't had food serve at about the same time. The service wasn't coordinated. Entry were mixed up or never arrived some had their main served & finished with other having never received the side (meant to be with the main) ... Vibe is nice waiter was nice (attitude) but all the other things were a mess.

Food quality or taste wasn't good enough to make us forget about the wait & all other issue

We went to kava for my birthday & it was a 10/10 .The food ,the music & the service was good. Special mention for Thibault the best waiter ever, thank you for the great experience!
