The tasting menu was incredible, my dad & I absolutely adored the food, every dish was a hit, they were perfectly balanced & flavourful. The owner was so friendly & kind as well as the rest of the staff. The vibes were immaculate as well great music, nice decor & great people. We had an amazing evening there & I cannot recommend it enough. Worth every penny.View more

As someone who's been to this restaurant over 5+ times, I can tell you each experience has been better than the other. The kindest & most welcoming staff I've experienced hands down. The owner, Rey, makes sure that every client is tended to & satisfied with their overall experience. Initially, I had never considered Filipino cuisine since there aren't too many spots in Montreal. The aesthetic of the restaurant is what initially reeled me in, but the staff, service & food is what got me to come back time after time. Heads up for those who have never tried Filipino cuisine, most dishes are on the sweeter side & mildly spicy! (If you don't like the spice, tell them beforehand so they can modify some of their sauces for you, they're super accommodating!). If it's your first time, I highly recommend their tasting menu to be able to discover the different items on the menu! If not, the octopus (pugita kare kare), shrimp bisque & smoked mackarel (kinilaw) have been my go to-s! The drinks are always tasty & aesthetically pleasing. Each dish is always thoroughly explained & they all have their own unique backstory. One thing I really appreciate, they change the cutlery & plates after every service! You can tell that they really care about their customers. They always keep an open mind & want feedback from their clients as they change their menu items from time to time as the season changes! This venue is elevating the fine dining Filipino restaurant to an incredible culinary experience ❤?❤? The decor is gorgeous on the inside & the host is super nice & friendly 😇😇 We started with mocktails & wine & the moved onto Tinapay - incredible delicious bread with the best ube butter ever ❤?❤? Trust me, it's the best salted bread you've ever eaten 🎉🎉The host was super kind to explain the history behind each dish we ordered & it was a delight listening to him 😇😇 We then moved onto the main dish - Bisque Palabok for me & Short Ribs Pares for my partner & my goodness, each bite was beyond exquisite & made with so much attention to taste & detail that we didn't want the savory bites to end ❤?❤? Highly recommend the homemade pasta & particularly with the bisque ❤?❤? For dessert we had this incredible bread soaked in maple topped with cheddar & truly a gourmet's delight ❤?❤? Although we ordered from à la carte menu, we cannot wait to come back & try the Tasting Menu 😇😇 Highly recommend this 11/10 restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a night out with a date, family, & friends as the host, food & service are fantastic 🎉🎉View more

Coming from a metropolitan & diverse place like the Washington D.C. Metro, we have high standards for'modern takes on Filipino food.' JunJun's did not disappoint! We had personalized service from the owner himself who explained the background & preparation of each of our 5-course tasting menu. I had the cocktail with pandan flavor & my 20-something son had the deconstructed champorado for dessert. We ended the meal feeling full & satisfied. Must visit if you're in Montreal!View more

I've postponed writing this review because I've never experienced such appalling restaurant service before.
My sister & I chose this establishment to celebrate New Year's Eve with their advertised 6-course + dessert tasting menu. We arrived punctually for our reservation near opening time, & were excited by the positive reviews we'd heard-which only amplified our ultimate disappointment.
The ambiance was admittedly pleasant. The place had dim lighting & tasteful decorations, which created an intimate atmosphere perfect for a special occasion.
Our initial service was promising. Our waiter was exceptional & was the true highlight of our evening. He graciously accommodated our request for non-alcoholic versions of their cocktails & answered our questions about the menu diligently. Both he & who appeared to be the manager would present each course with detailed descriptions, which we appreciated as newcomers to Filipino cuisine.
However, the pacing was problematic. Most of the time, we found ourselves with uncomfortably long waits between courses. The evening took a shocking turn as we awaited our sixth course. The manager abruptly asked us to pay & leave because'other people were waiting.' This was bewildering since we had arrived early for our reservation & our pre-paid 6-course meal was incomplete as we hadn't received our final course & dessert.
After paying, we remained seated expecting our remaining food. Minutes later, the manager came back & asked us to free our table. Stunned & already frustrated by the excessive waiting times, we left without explaining that our meal was unfinished. Looking back at our bill, at least we were not charged for the full 6 course + dessert meal.
I would give one star, but I am giving an extra star solely because the service provided by our waiter was truly exceptional.
What should have been a special celebration became a deeply disappointing experience & a sour start to the New Year. I cannot recommend a restaurant that treats reserved guests as so, regardless of how good their food might be.View more

I had the pleasure of dining at their sister restaurant, Junior, & have been wanting to try Junjun for some time now. I must say, the experience was incredible & truly unforgettable! Junjun exceeded all my expectations. The service was exceptional, with friendly & attentive staff. Our waitress, Margarita, was fantastic, & Manager Ray was a wonderful host, bringing both humor & warmth to the evening. He enriched our experience by sharing the story behind Junjun & its journey, adding a unique & personal touch to our visit. As a Filipino growing up in a Filipino household & enjoying traditional Filipino dishes daily, I was truly amazed by how this restaurant has elevated & modernized the cuisine. Each dish on the tasting menu showcased unique & distinct flavors, & every plate was a visual masterpiece. I'm already eagerly anticipating my next visit, especially for the unforgettable Octopus Kare Kare-it's a dish that has left a lasting impression. Maraming Salamat! We came here for my partner's 30th birthday & the staff were incredible, fun, passionate, & knowledgeable. They made the dinner so special. We had the tasting menu & all of the dishes were beautifully balanced. One of my favourite places in Montréal. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu.View more

unforgettable experience! We opted for the 5 & 6-course tasting menu, & every dish's presentation was nothing short of art. The flavors were equally impressive, with each course offering a delightful mix that showcased the creativity of modern Filipino inspired fusion cuisine. From the unique twists on traditional dishes to the innovative flavor combinations, every bite was a new adventure. My friends & I had the pleasure to have dinner at Junjun. Everything was just perfect. We each got a cocktail & the 5 course tasting menu. The cocktails were 16-18$ & the menu was 75$. I got a passionfruit margarita which was delicious. Each course of the menu was absolutely delicious. At the end, I felt just right : full but with just enough space for dessert. The waiters were absolutely lovely & extremely nice. The decor was beautiful & the music was great. The terrasse in back looks super cute.View more

We had the 5 course tasting menu & it was great. The server was lovely & explained every dish to us, the memories they invoked for him as a Filipino, & how he would suggest we eat each. The dishes were flavourful & unique. I particularly enjoyed the Mackerel & the leek dish. The desserts were also truly spectacular. Highly recommend this spot !View more
