Jun I is widely celebrated as a premier destination for sushi in Montreal, offering an exceptional dining experience marked by fresh, high-quality fish and beautifully presented, flavorful dishes. Many guests praise the omakase menu for its artistry and variety, highlighting the skill of the kitchen in delivering consistently delicious nigiris and creative rolls. The service is frequently described as warm, knowledgeable, and professional, often enhancing the overall atmosphere, which many find perfect for intimate date nights or special celebrations. While some diners mention the premium pricing, the consensus remains that the level of culinary craftsmanship and the vibrant, lively environment make it a highly recommended spot for those seeking an authentic and memorable meal.

Got the omakase (tasting menu) here. While the food was generally good & the value is unbeatable, I feel like the flavours were not very balanced for some of the dishes. The flavour profile here leans heavily towards sour & zesty. There's a lot of citrus/yuzu & balsamic sauces used. It worked for the early salads & appetizers, but got exhausting towards the middle & I couldn't wait for the sushi for a palate reprieve. My favourite non-sushi dish was the wagyu, which really stood out for its umami & perfectly cooked rareness, although the thick bunch of carrots felt a bit excessive. When the sushi arrived, it did not disappoint. There was a variety of sashimi, rolls & traditional sushi. All were amazing & probably worth the price of the omakase on their own. My favourite was probably the pair of fried makis! Service was good & started quickly but slowed down A LOT the dinner crowd poured in after 7. Come early if you want prompt service & their full attention.

Food was good, sashimi was fresh, rolls were average, the service was good & fast. Only disappointment since booked sushi bar online booking. This was not available & I would have appreciated a courtesy call to let me know, would have asked for a table.

The quality of the sushi is unbeatable. Best sashimi in Montreal. Amazing service too.

Sushi moriawase was not fresh. The sashimi pieces were dry & unpalatable. Quite disappointed. I expected better for the price. The maki roll, however, was good.

Divine. Omakase dishes are creative & delicious; sushi & sashimi are fresh & sweet. Service is warm & professional. (Merci encore, Charles.) In New York, this menu would cost easily three times as much.

I would never visit Montreal wiithout making a reservation here first.

Quel excellent repas!
Service totalement impeccable! Bravo !
On y retournera bien évidemment.

Quel fabuleux festin!

Service was weird I felt uncomfortable I had to ask if we had received everything as he was picking up my wine glass , & we were missing half the meal , the sashimis Wich are usually served first arrived last & were warm & cooked by the lime sliced because it stayed on the counter for so long , taste wise the makis were delicious
