Excellent repas au Juni hier soir, nous avons pris le menu à 95$, très, très bien, service attentionné, & très bons conseils de notre serveur pour le saké. Une référence en matière de bouffe japonaise à Montréal!!

Every time, Jun I has been stellar. I'm glad the "by the glass" saké list has gotten bigger which allows us to try different things. The portions of the Omakase are very generous. The ingredient quality is bar none & the service was prompt, dedicated & convivial.

absolutely beautiful.

i have been here twice, but i brought my father who was visiting from California. he & i have been eating sushi since I was a baby in 1994, & my father has been frequenting Morimoto's in Napa for quality rice & fish.

he said that Jun I had some of the best quality nigiri he's had. our server suggested a gorgeous bottle of saké that my father greatly enjoyed (& me too), & the Quebec uni was amazing. I had been looking for quality uni in the city since October 2020, so it was really lovely to get my hands on such a delicious reunion with the flavor.

thank you very much, we loved our visit & as always i will definitely be back. Jun I is by far the best quality for price, with beautiful treatment of the rice, unique fishes, & wonderful staff.

I have been going to Jun I for many years with the obvious hiatus for COVID19.

Chef has not missed a step in the transition: great food & cocktails & saké variety, excellent service, super clean.

I remain a dedicated regular.

Pros: good service & meal timing (slow enough to enjoy the evening), great saké selection.

Cons: based on comparably priced sushi restaurants in Montreal & North America in general, this is average at best. The sushi quality, cut & presentation needs to be revised. Don't mean to go on & on, but to give an example, the sushi rice is too cooked & mushy. Once this happens it's pretty much game over :-(

Finally, the decor is outdated & lacks atmosphere.

Basically, based on its great reputation we had tried Jun-i 6-7 years ago & weren't overly impressed. Given its continued success & good reviews we decided to give it a second chance & unfortunately it was the same mixed result.

j'habite en France & mes passages à Montreal riment inconditionnellement avec Juni. c'est un vrai régal, les saveurs des plats sont uniques, la carte des sakés est vertigineuse! les conseils des serveurs sont les bienvenus pour nous guider avec justesse.
bravo encore & merci pour cette belle aventure des papilles à chaque fois!
