Reviews about Joyo Burger present an overall impression of high quality burgers with notable praise for the Nashville chicken burger and a generally tasty burger lineup, while sides like fries and poutines receive mixed feedback. The menu is described as offering fresh ingredients and some standout items such as blue cheese or brie mushroom burgers, though changes to the menu, including removing caramelized bacon and altering buns, have sparked debate about value and flavor. Service is praised for friendliness and efficiency at times, but experiences also include slower service, occasional delays between courses, and takeout packaging that can make burgers soggy. Clean, inviting space and a lively vibe are common positives, supported by consistent mentions of good milkshakes and a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Joyo Burger is regarded as one of Montreal's best burger spots by many, with strong impressions of flavor and variety, yet some reviews note inconsistency and occasional disappointments when orders are not up to the standard.
I recently visited Joyo Burger on Rue Masson, one of the nicest streets in Montreal, & overall I had a great experience.
I ordered the Nashville chicken burger, & it was honestly amazing - perfectly spicy, juicy, & tender. Definitely the highlight of the meal & worth coming back for.
That said, there were a few downsides. The fries were a bit disappointing & felt low quality compared to the burger. The service also wasn't perfect - there were no napkins, salt, or ketchup available on the table, which made things a bit inconvenient.
Despite these small issues, the food itself (especially the burger) really stands out. I'm giving 4 stars, with one star deducted for the sides & service.
I would still come back again for that chicken burger 👍
The burgers were absolutely delicious, very tasty & made with fresh meat. The flavor was excellent. If you're a burger lover, you should definitely try the burgers at this restaurant.
However, there are a few points I'd like to mention. The fries were not good; they had an onion taste (maybe they were fried in the same oil as onions, or for some other reason). Also, the bottom of the container was full of small, broken pieces that were not really edible.
Our meals were served at different times. There was about a 10-minute gap between my husband's dish & mine, even though we ordered together on the same bill.
No sauce was served with the fries, & we had to ask for it. They brought us a small container of ketchup.
I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. The interior design is beautiful, but I think the level of service should match the quality of the food & the interior design so everything feels consistent.

I am beyond disappointed. THEY CHANGED THE MENU FOR THE WORSE! Shrinkflation at its finest.
They removed bacon from a bunch of the burgers! I have no clue why- the bleu was perfect before. Now, if I want a similar experience, I have to pay 2$ extra to add bacon. On top of that, they swapped out the arugula for a cheaper chopped lettuce on everything. But of course, the price stays the same, even though the quality of the burgers has dropped very noticeably.
I understand that the economy is not great at the moment & it's especially impacting small businesses. But if that were the case, where did the money come from to buy those fancy new tv screens you're using to display your awful new menu???
Joyo used to be one of my favourite places. I visited regularly, especially during the summer when it's nice out & I can walk over. The burgers used to be super tasty & they even have gluten free buns! Now, Yoyos is starting to feel just like any other burger place, not much really setting it apart from A&W down the street.
I'm not sure I'll be back, or recommending it to friends. Super disappointed in the owners for putting profits before quality.
I used to love Joyo Burger's crispy chicken-it was the perfect melt-in-your-mouth, crispy-yet-juicy bite. The quality was top-notch, & it always tasted freshly fried. But the last two times I've gotten it, it hasn't been the same. The chicken doesn't taste as fresh, & it seems like they're reheating it on the grill instead of frying it fresh. The texture is drier, & it's missing that signature crunch. I really hope they go back to the quality that made their burgers stand out!
This place used to be great when it opened. Now the quality has gone down immensely. The last two times I went, I had the fried chicken burger which was burnt & the onions on the Oklahoma burger were tough & so chewy, never had that issue before. I used to be ok with paying their prices for good quality burgers. But it no longer feels worth it to me.
Burgers are amazing & good quality. Order at counter & go sit down, your food will be brought to you. Popular music playing. Nothing better than hearing your burger sizzling on the grill from the other side of the restaurant 😋

Very solid burger! They even have good quality gf buns. Not the ones made from saw dust that crumble . Only comment I would say, the patty lacked a little salt. Otherwise, a solid 8.5 smashed burge
