They offer all you can eat mussels & fries on Tuesdays! They always have the classic sauce & a sauce of the day. It has been a struggle to find really good mussels in this city & I'm super happy that I found this gem of a place! The mussels are always really fresh & they have an amazing selection of oysters as well. I would definitely recommend this cute intimate restaurant if you're ever craving mussels or tasty oysters!
There were two of us, & the service was truly attentive. The food was excellent & beautifully presented, with a detailed description of each dish. I ordered the lobster ravioli & the grilled octopus, both of which were incredible. & what can I say about the selection of oysters, apart from their diverse origins & freshness? Incredible! I will gladly return !!!

Loved Josephine! Would be perfect for date night. I went alone & sat at the bar on a Friday & it was pretty empty. The fish special was out of this world, & I loved the oysters & the mignonette hot sauce that came with it. You are paying $$$ for not a big portion, just note that. I walked out a little hungry but knew I wanted something lighter. & it is still worth it for the flavors. One of the best meals I have had in Montreal!
Came by myself on a sunny Wednesday around 6pm-place was pretty empty so I got seated & served right away. Drink landed in just a few minutes, & my half seafood platter ($55) was on the table within 15. I also had their tequila cocktail ($16), which was a solid pairing.
The oysters were fresh & really good, though I wish there was more than one sauce option-they only serve them with a homemade jalapeno mignonette, which isn't my favorite. But then came the shrimp... absolutely insane. Easily the best shrimp I've had in recent memory. The salmon gravlax was super fresh, & the tuna tataki was delicious too.
Yeah, it's a bit pricey, but honestly, the quality of the ingredients makes it worth it.
The experience was great. We ordered salmon, grilled octopus, oysters & lobster ravioli, & they were delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere, & the decoration was very nice.
Great oysters! The house made jalapeno mignonette was a pleasant surprise. William the bartender was great also, we came here per his recommendation when searching for oysters & his service was top-notch. Great ambiance.

Service, food quality, plating was absolutely amazing. Will definitely come back. The hot sauce they give you with the oysters is homemade is sooo good too!
We just had a lovely & lively meal at Joséphine. The three of us sat at the large center table, enjoyed a fabulous Dauvissat Chablis, oysters, salmon tartare, calamari fritti, sea bass with roasted corn & peaches, lobster ravioli, & duck confit papardelle. The service was warm & unobtrusive. Many of the customers seemed to be regulars, which added to the welcoming atmosphere.
Fabulous dinner at Josephine. We went on Wednesday for the oyster special, they were fresh & delicious! Our waitress was very kind & knowledgeable as well. Will be coming back!
We had difficulty finding reservations for the upcoming Father's Day weekend. Called & they said they could squeeze us in at the oyster bar at 19:00. We walked over nearly a half hour early & were seated in their pleasant sidewalk outdoor area. Our waiter, Thomas was nice, efficient & accurate with his recommendations. My wife had fried calamari, not overcooked, light, crunchy crust, just the right amount for one person. I tried each of the 4 types of oysters offered that evening, simply with lemon & jalapeno sauce which I didn't use. My wife ordered a grilled lobster, well prepared & simple. I ordered sea bass with a reduction sauce, mushrooms, clams & asparagus. Fish was moist, not overcooked with crispy skin. Skipped dessert. Sorry, I ate the oysters before the photo.
We booked a table on the patio for 8:30pm on a Wednesday. When we got there, we got told that they don't take bookings for the patio & that we have to wait like any walk-in people (?). We finally got a table around 9:15pm, but they never gave us menus, so we waited another 20 minutes to get them (& we did have to ask for them!)
9:40ish, we finally started ordering & everything was fine after that. The food looked & tasted very good. We tried the oysters, calamaris, octopus & mussels.
Conclusion: don't bother booking & don't be in a hurry!
