Si le choix était offert, j'aurais mis 3.5 étoiles car:
- service à table un peu rapide (prend les assiettes alors que plat non terminé & ne demande pas si fini, vient très souvent remettre de l'eau,...) ce qui enlève de l'expérience
- les
- plats principaux manquants un peu de travail ou un peu trop cuit-lard un peu dur à manger
Sinon, les vins étaient bons, les autres plats étaient bien exécutés aussi, j'ai eu une tartelette pour ma fête (très appréciée)
Très rapide mise en bouche,,, étourdissant au début, mais par la suite c'est bien, Cependant, nous avions été informé par notre serveuse du déroulement.

* the dishes were hit & miss, some amazing, some bland & unremarkable & seemed like filler
* service was ok, it depended on the waiter & how far into the dinner we got; clearly the waiters are tired of describing the dishes, I often saw them looking around the room, going through the motions which made even the delicious items seem less special. one of the desserts had some preparation table side & it seemed completely obligatory, they just melted some stuff in a pan half-hearted & having it blaze near my head made it seem even more pointless for the danger in a crowded area.
* no speciality cocktails
* too much pressure on the upsells: pushing wine pairing hard, when they saw we were cocktail drinkers they invented a cocktail pairing which was odd considering they didn't offer us a cocktail menu to begin with or suggest any bartender specialties when we asked. the last push was a cheese plate near the end of the dinner which just seemed absurd after 8-10 courses. The upsells created numerous awkward moments which you don't expect at this price point.
I've been to numerous tasting menus around North America (including Montreal) & I probably wouldn't visit Jérôme Ferrer again unless they decided to focus on quality over quantity & service. I suspect it was amazing at one time & they are living off past reviews & success & no longer have the drive to impress. Comes off as a bit of a tourist trap with the mediocre service & upsells.
This restaurant will feed you gluten despite you making them abundantly aware of your allergy to gluten (known as Celiac disease.) I was asked how severe my allergy was, told them I had this condition, & they concluded that was a "9/10" & continued to feed me food "minorly contaminated with gluten" such as soy sauce, which is made with wheat. Wheat is the most common source of gluten. Remarkable negligence of medical/dietary restraints.
La nourriture est excellente, l'expérience théâtrale divertissante. Il est obligatoire de prendre 8 services au minimum. Après les 4 premiers services, malheureusement, l'appétit n'y est plus; les portions étant très généreuses. Aussi, énormément de desserts, ce qui limite l'intérêt dans mon cas. Il serait grandement apprécié de pouvoir prendre 2-3 plats sur le menu avec une bonne bouteille de vin. Pas possible ici, on doit absolument sortir de là avec le malaise d'avoir trop mangé ou d'avoir gaspillé.
Très satisfait de l'accueil, du service & de la nourriture, ainsi que de la décoration du resto.
Cuisine très créative & quelquefois de nature magique.
Quelle expérience La Grande Table. Juste wow! Chaque détail est pensé, la qualité de la nourriture n'a d'égal que la présentation. Cher mais pour vivre une expérience hors du commun une fois dans sa vie, je dis oui!
