Nice atmosphere & a comfortable dining environment. The food was decent but fairly average. A few sushi rolls arrived already falling apart, & the salad in the set menu had quite a lot of dressing.
Service during the meal was friendly, though the food took a bit longer than expected. When we mentioned our feedback at checkout, there was no acknowledgment or apology, which was a little disappointing. Overall, a pleasant place, but there is room for improvement.
Really good place, good service, nice food. The sukiyaki is really delicious, me & my friends had a great night! Definitely recommend this place, an we will go there again!
lovely place & nice staff. a bit pricey, but you pay for amazing quality. everything is made to order❤?
Long live to Sakura ! Love this place, friendly service & chef, i cant wait to come back!
Hidden gem, low key old school authentic Japanese restaurant, I've been here twice, both times were great. Great service too.
My new favorite Japanese Restaurant!!! So so authentic brings me back when I travelled japan. & it was so cute because an old grandma was the one who made the food, her name was Momo-san if I'm not mistaken. The food was amazing & the quality of the food is superb!! Serving is really great for the price you're paying!!! The staff are so so polite & very souriant!! :))) will def tell everyone to visit this hidden gem!!!
Quaint Japanese restaurant about 350m from the Bell Centre. It's located on the 2nd floor at the intersection of Stanley & Cypress so there are some stairs to climb. It's right next to the Italian restaurant & the signage isn't as obvious so you might miss it. Had the Bento du jour, which was quite generous in its servings. The fried tofu was pretty good, & the teriyaki salmon was a good serving served on a bed of rice. It came with 3 pieces of sushi & 4 California rolls that were very good. I enjoyed the small spring roll it came with as it was a different flavour to the fish pieces. The tempura was nice & light & the skewer of teriyaki chicken was very flavourful. Not shown in the picture but also included was a bowl of miso soup, salad & a dessert that included a scoop of green tea ice cream & a cup of hot green tea. Pretty good value bento box! Super friendly older lady was serving everyone & I was surprised they weren't busier. I wasn't sure how big the bento box would be so ordered a spicy salmon roll & 2 pieces of spicy tuna, both were great!
Traditional & authentic Japanese restaurant.
I've ordered the evening sushi sashimi set dinner. The food & service were both very good.
However, on the menu it says 6 pieces of sashimi, but it was actually 3 pieces but cut in half to make 6. Very dishonest & insincere business owners... Very unfortunate.
Historical authentic Japanese restaurant. They were the first one to open & they are the last one surviving.
It is simple authentic traditional Japanese food. Comforting & delicious.
Noriko Ishii will graciously welcome you . The Showa era atmosphere with Enka music in the background, friendly service & retro deco is very charming. It is the only place in Montreal where you can experience this. Enjoy while it is still here!
The place is cozy & has a nice, welcoming vibe. The staff were super friendly & made the experience even better. & the food? Absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed it & will definitely be coming back.
Good 👍 sushi 🍣🤤 & good service,drop by & experience authentic Japanese cuisine 👍😊👍 😋 yummy sushi 🍣 Awesome 👍 as usual 🤗 Awesome 👍🤗
A éviter.
My cousin introduced me to this gem years ago; therefore not my first time here; Noriko Ishii-san is extremely meticulous in her food crafting & is incredibly friendly. She wants to know about people, their love for Japan, & ultimately serve them great food. For a culture rich experience, & good food, this is the best place in town.
