Le Jardin Nelson, housed in an historic building that dates back to 1812 in Montreal's Old Montreal, is known for its large, heated outdoor terrace. Le Jardin Nelson specializes in crepes, pizzas and salads but the crepes are the most popular. Enjoy live classical music during lunch and a jazz singer during the evenings on the terrace.

Jardin Nelson will always have a line of people waiting to get in during the summer months, but I can tell you the wait is worth it! This is a lovely restaurant set in a beautiful garden away from the craziness of Montreal's Old Town streets. It's literally a hidden oasis! Once you're given a menu, you'll find there is a plethora of options - they have a very impressive selection of crêpes (which I absolutely would recommend getting), excellent salads, very good pizzas, & that's really just scratching the surface! They have so many different items on the menu, it's crazy! Try a variety of different things, & don't be afraid to ask the waiters/waitresses what they would recommend. That's what we did, & it helped a lot! Service was very good, food came out in a reasonable manner, & despite it being in a very touristy part of Montreal, prices were not exorbitant. All in all, a very impressive restaurant we will always return to whenever we are visiting the city!View more

Everyone told me I had to try this place. So I did. I had I stopped for lunch on what was one of hottest fall days I've encountered. 32c. On October 3rd. The patio was lovely. Shaded & breezy I had the crepe Florentine. It was a nicely presented but pretty basic. I thought it was a bit overdone Great service. I've tried it. I would go backView more

The highlight of our trip to Montréal. Their beautiful setting makes this one of the most memorable restaurants I've ever been to. The large trees in this hidden garden are magical. Live jazz playing? Amazing vibes. Our server was knowledgeable, kind, & lively. The place gets busy so I'd say most tables are pretty close together. The food portions were on the bigger side. My Lapin Crepe was generously filled so I had half the next day for breakfast! The Maple Pudding was mostly just maple syrup soup but others in my group had more pudding, not sure what happened there. My table was also happy with their menu meal choices.
Thanks for the fun night!View more

Jardin Nelson is a hidden gem in the old port. The food is absolutely delicious, & the atmosphere is cozy & inviting. We started our meal with the pizza charcutiere, which was loaded with toppings & had a perfectly crispy crust. For our main course, we had the lobster homade salad & the crepe florentine. The lobster salad was fresh & flavorful, & the crepe florentine was rich & decadent. The band was playing some very nice atmospheric songs, which added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. The service was also excellent, & our server was very attentive & friendly. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Jardin Nelson & would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a cozy & inviting atmosphere.View more

The restaurant is very nice if you sit in the back. They have live band playing jazz. The crepes are delicious. All meals came out quick but the dessert (pouding chomeur) took forever to come to the table, but it was worth the wait.View more

I love dining in this historical place. It feels like being indoors & outdoors at the same time with a large tree in the midst of the dining space, flowers hanging from the stone walls, & a jazz duo playing softly the background. The service is friendly & prompt & the menu offers a delicious variety of items from appetiizers to pizzas to their famous crepes.

This was my third time at Jardin Nelson, & unfortunately my last as I really enjoy the courtyard setting. The food quality has gone down dramatically since my last visit three years ago. The calamari appetizer was awful; 14$ for approximately 10 pieces of undercooked & soggy calamari. The fermiere crepe, which consists of veal, onion, mushroom & white wine bechamel for 17$ was tasteless. My friends had the american pizza & the duck crepe; which were better than the fermiere crepe & calamari, but definitely not worth the prices charged. Presentation equally disappointing, service average.

Ordinaire. Bon service. Je ne pense pas y retourner.

I went to Jardins Nelson with some of my girl friends for a ladies night out. This restaurant is only open for the summer months, so we made sure to go before the closed (they close thanksgiving weekend). We sat in the far back in a corner near a window & close to the live jazz band. The ambiance is just great, the big umbrellas & flowers & vines give it a really romantic look. The Jazz band was amazing! I ordered the shepards pie made with duck which came with a side of beets & fruit ketchup. It was very good, although I found the portion to be a tad bit small for the price I paid. My friends ordered crepes which they said were good, but not as good as they had anticipated. We shared a pitcher of blue sangria which was very good, but also on the pricy side. The service was very good, although I felt a little rushed. We wanted to have some drinks & listen to the music, although they brought us the bill as soon as we were done eating with out offering us more drinks.
