This is a must try restaurant in Montreal. The vibes & atmosphere are next level. Ask to sit in the back courtyard if available, it's 100% worth it! The decor, the music (live jazz) really bring the restaurant to life. The food is decent, we had the tostadas as starters & pancakes as main. Pretty good but nothing amazing. But the environment really makes the restaurant unique! Great drink selection, perfect outdoor brunch spot on a nice summer day!View more

We had a really lovely dinner at Jardin Nelson in Montreal. The atmosphere was warm & full of life - especially because of the live music. There were several musicians performing while we dined, & it added something really special to the experience. During jazz festival season, it's even more vibrant, with music floating through the air & talented artists keeping everyone entertained. It feels like one of those classic Montreal spots where you just want to linger.
The food was absolutely delicious. The chef did an excellent job - everything we ordered was fresh, full of flavor, & beautifully presented. The menu is rich & diverse, so everyone in our group found something they really enjoyed, whether it was seafood, vegetarian dishes, or something light & refreshing.
Our waitress, Melina, was amazing - friendly, attentive, & genuinely warm. She made us feel welcome & taken care of throughout the whole meal.
The desserts were also fantastic - a perfect way to end the evening. Overall, the service, the food, & the live music created a memorable night. If you're visiting Montreal, Jardin Nelson is definitely worth a stop.View more

I stumbled across this beautiful restaurant while exploring Old Montreal & boy am I glad I did. The vibe of the patio was so warm & welcoming, the roast pork sandwich on rosemary focaccia bread was delicious, & fries were perfect. I also enjoyed the white wine sangria & would absolutely order all of this again. Our server was kind & prompt, & the jazz in the background was really enjoyable. If I'm back in Montreal again soon, I will definitely come back.View more

Service was good & our waitress was very nice but for the rest I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The worst chicken burger I had, the bun was burnt & stale. Chunky piece of hard chicken not even tasty. Mediocre fries & had a Pina colada which taste just like syrup. The table for 4 people was very small outside & we hardly even had room for our plates on the table. We were very uncomfortably seated in an over crowded area. I heard of this place before & always wanted to try it but honestly there is nothing really special about this place except for the live jazz music which was nice. For such an overpriced menu there are way nicer & better restaurants in Montreal!

Jardin Nelson was buzzing with energy on a weeknight, & we were fortunate enough to snag a table in the beautiful garden, where we enjoyed live jazz music alongside our meal.
We started with the baby ribs glazed with Jack Daniel's & maple syrup, & they were absolutely delicious--fall-off-the-bone tender! A must-try for anyone. For our entrees, we opted for the pâté chinois au canard, which is akin to shepherd's pie but filled with succulent shredded duck, corn, & creamy mashed potatoes. It was simply delightful. The lasagna au gratin was also impressive, featuring layers of eggplant, tomato sauce, spinach, & peppers baked to perfection.View more

I highly recommend the *pudding chômeur* - it's hands down one of the best I've had, rich & comforting. Pairing that dessert with the live jazz made for an unforgettable experience. Disappointing, expected much better. Server fell far below even average. It felt like we were imposing upon her. Didn't care for that. The chowder was quite good & very tasty. We ordered what she called an American ice tea but it really tasted like a sweet & sour mixer - unlike any ice tea we've ever encountered. Très bonne table dans un quartier certes touristique mais dont le rapport qualité/prix est tout à fait correct pour Montréal ( & le quartier). Nous en avons eu pour 263 cad à 4 en se faisant plaisir (43€/pers). Service nickel, merci Dany ! La qualité est au RDV. Nous avons passé une bonne soirée. Les 4 étoiles pour l'ambiance tiennent au fait que ns étions collés au jazz band, ce qui nous obligeait à parler fort. Mais la musique est très agréable. Attn ! Pas de réservation possible & fermeture à 22h. Nous y étions à 18h30 & c'était quasi complet un mercredi soir.View more

The place is super nice with live jazz music. Also the servers were very nice. However the food was really not good. I had the avocado toast which was soggy & unseasoned. The poke bowl was not sushi rice nor was it seasoned & barely any sauce. The pizza was doughy & just not that good. So as a place to have a few drinks fantastic, food not so muchView more

Great place in Old Montreal. The food was excellent & the drinks were perfect! Especially on a warm summer evening. The lemonade really hit the spot! The crepes were delicious, in particular the smoked meat crepe. Combining two of my favourite Montreal foods in one! The restaurant's decor & ambiance is something special. You can either sit out on the front patio, or in the back in the outdoor garden. Both great, this time we sat in the garden. It's so nice, there are tables on different levels, there are huge umbrellas & awnings to cover from the sun, & there is amazing live jazz music. It was such a nice place to spend the evening. That place is a unique experience. It feels like Babylon with all the plants everywhere. That was just amazing & the jazz scene was just perfect. As we speak, the jazz will play until 3 pm, & come back at 6 pm until late night. I took the vegan jackfruit, which was very tasty.View more
