The vibe of the patio was so warm & welcoming, the roast pork sandwich on rosemary focaccia bread was delicious, & fries were perfect. I also enjoyed the white wine sangria & would absolutely order all of this again. Our server was kind & prompt, & the jazz in the background was really enjoyable. If I'm back in Montreal again soon, I will definitely come back.View more
Disappointing. Been here before & wanted to take my family to experience the beautiful atmosphere. Ordered the lobster sandwich & it was mediocre at best, poorly seasoned & stale bun. Severely over priced. The serve was adequate & the music was nice.View more
Jardin Nelson was buzzing with energy on a weeknight, & we were fortunate enough to snag a table in the beautiful garden, where we enjoyed live jazz music alongside our meal.
We started with the baby ribs glazed with Jack Daniel's & maple syrup, & they were absolutely delicious--fall-off-the-bone tender! A must-try for anyone. For our entrees, we opted for the pâté chinois au canard, which is akin to shepherd's pie but filled with succulent shredded duck, corn, & creamy mashed potatoes. It was simply delightful. The lasagna au gratin was also impressive, featuring layers of eggplant, tomato sauce, spinach, & peppers baked to perfection.View more
By far my favourite restaurant in Montreal. The live music was beautiful, the staff are incredibly attentive, & the food is delicious. This is quite possibly the best restaurant I've ever been to.View more
Jardin Nelson is a gem in Old Montreal. The live jazz, & friendly staff make it such a delightful experience. The food is great-I loved the duck confit poutine & the sangria. The atmosphere is amazing. Definitely a must-visit for a relaxing meal in a beautiful setting!View more

Jardin Nelson in Montreal is an absolute gem! I had the canard du confit crêpe, & it was simply divine. The duck was tender & flavorful, perfectly complemented by the delicate & crispy crêpe. The dish was beautifully balanced, with the rich duck filling blending harmoniously with the other ingredients. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience-sitting in the charming garden courtyard with live jazz music in the background made for a memorable meal. The service was friendly & attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. If you're in Montreal & looking for a unique & delicious meal in a beautiful setting, Jardin Nelson is a must-visit. I highly recommend it!View more
Went around 8 PM on a Sunday & were pleasantly surprised by the short wait; it seems like the service is quite efficient. Ordered a small pitcher of lychee sangria that was quite delicious & fresh, albeit quite sweet. We weren't too hungry, so we only shared a charcuterie pizza. There was A LOT of meat on it. While tasty, it quickly became too salty. We mainly came for the live jazz band, which did not disappoint. They played many recognizable songs. Ultimately, we did slightly wish we went somewhere else for our last night in Montreal as it was obviously a tourist spot. That being said, the terrace atmosphere was beautiful & the live jazz was top-notch, making the visit worth it.View more
This was one of our favorite restaurant choices during our visit to Montreal. Good gluten-free options, gorgeous patio & vibe, great service. They're known for their crepes & offer a gluten-free batter. They also have a gluten-free menu to clearly show options, & our waiter was very knowledgeable & helpful about dietary restrictions. Most of the sauces are not gluten free but I enjoyed the main course crepe I chose without a sauce. Though the cheesecake dessert crepe we shared wasn't nearly as good. They don't take reservations & get very busy, so be prepared to arrive early or to wait for a table. We arrived 20 minutes before the restaurant opened & stood in the line that was already forming. We didn't know about the back patio beforehand but followed the crowd in front of us in choosing a table on the back patio, & it was by far the best seating. It's a*really* beautiful space & there was live music during our lunch. As we left about 12:30 pm, every table in the restaurant was full & there was a very long line of people waiting to be seated.View more

Nestled in the heart of Old Town Montreal, Jardin Nelson offers a delightful dining experience that is both charming & vibrant. The moment you step into this picturesque restaurant, you are greeted by a beautiful atmosphere adorned with an abundance of fresh flowers. The outdoor terrace, framed by greenery & blooms, creates a serene & enchanting setting that is perfect for a leisurely meal. The food at Jardin Nelson was satisfying, especially considering the high demand during peak hours. The menu offered a variety of dishes that catered to different tastes, ensuring there was something for everyone. While not necessarily gourmet, the meals were well-prepared, flavorful, & presented with care. It's clear that the kitchen staff works diligently to deliver quality food even when the restaurant is at full capacity. Overall, Jardin Nelson is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy a delightful meal in a stunning, floral-adorned setting. The combination of good food, excellent service, & a beautiful atmosphere makes it a must-visit in Old Town Montreal. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant promises an enjoyable & relaxing dining experience.View more
Absolutely visit Jardin Nelson for their beautiful garden & nightly jazz! We stopped by on our first night in Montreal & the atmosphere made a lovely first impression. However, the food is sub-par & overpriced & the seating is not the comfiest. But despite that I still recommend checking it out for the vibes.View more

Jardin Nelson will always have a line of people waiting to get in during the summer months, but I can tell you the wait is worth it! This is a lovely restaurant set in a beautiful garden away from the craziness of Montreal's Old Town streets. It's literally a hidden oasis! Once you're given a menu, you'll find there is a plethora of options - they have a very impressive selection of crêpes (which I absolutely would recommend getting), excellent salads, very good pizzas, & that's really just scratching the surface! They have so many different items on the menu, it's crazy! Try a variety of different things, & don't be afraid to ask the waiters/waitresses what they would recommend. That's what we did, & it helped a lot! Service was very good, food came out in a reasonable manner, & despite it being in a very touristy part of Montreal, prices were not exorbitant. All in all, a very impressive restaurant we will always return to whenever we are visiting the city!View more
I am counting down the days until we can return! Such a special place, most beautiful vegetative decor & entertaining live jazz. Food & service were excellent. Great vibe!!View more
Beautiful terrace for lunch at the old port of Montreal in the summer. Always a line up, which can be annoying, but also a sign that the place is loved by many! Had the bruschetta & the ceviche. They were both good, but nothing out of this world. Still thoroughly enjoyed my lunch experience at Jardin Nelson.View more

The highlight of our trip to Montréal. Their beautiful setting makes this one of the most memorable restaurants I've ever been to. The large trees in this hidden garden are magical. Live jazz playing? Amazing vibes. Our server was knowledgeable, kind, & lively. The place gets busy so I'd say most tables are pretty close together. The food portions were on the bigger side. My Lapin Crepe was generously filled so I had half the next day for breakfast! The Maple Pudding was mostly just maple syrup soup but others in my group had more pudding, not sure what happened there. My table was also happy with their menu meal choices.
Thanks for the fun night!View more
Loved this beautiful garden restaurant! The line looked long but moved fast. Food & drinks we ordered were all very delicious.View more
Beautiful setting, excellent service & very good food. Good value too
Had a very nice lunch here with friends, beautiful atmosphere, flowers & live music.
Beautiful place to have brunch or lunch. Live jazz all the way. So many tables so the waiting time is not too long but better get reservations.
