Jako is described as a small, cozy Korean and Japanese fusion restaurant with a warm vibe and soft lighting. The food is repeatedly praised for being flavorful and generously portioned, with favorites like bulgogi dolsot, yaki udon, fried chicken, katsu with cream sauce, and sundubu; prices are considered affordable for the downtown area. Service is noted as attentive and friendly, often quick, with staff who offer good recommendations and even help with takeout when the meal is finished. The atmosphere is described as welcoming and unpretentious, a good setting for casual meals with friends or family, though the space can be a bit dark and the music loud at times, and a few dishes are described as overly salty or oily. Overall, reviews converge on a highly positive impression and a strong likelihood to return, with many urging reservations for peak times.
Deuxième fois que je vais au restaurant, la nourriture est simplement incroyable, le meilleur udon que j'ai jamais mangé de ma vie. Le service est excellent & l'ambiance est très chaleureuse. Je recommande !
One of the best Korean restaurants I have tried! I have tried my fair share of Korean restaurants, & this is one of the top 3 for sure! The menu is on the simpler side, but I appreciate that. The service was fast & efficient. The staff was also super friendly. The cream katsu was remarkable. I will definitely be coming back! Only downside is 99% of the time, a reservation is required. If you think ahead of time to call & make a reservation though, you're all set!
Easily one of the best meals I've ever had. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious we were 2 & we ordered so much because we wanted to try everything. & every. Single. Plate. Delivered. The flavour & textures were flawless. We almost licked our plates. Even when we were full it was so good we kept eating! We told ourselves we were definitely going back to try more plates on the amazing menu. I'm not a big spicy eater so they even accommodated me for one of the appetizers by putting the spicy sauce on the side. Not only is the food to die for, the service was great! Every single person working there was so sweet & had beautiful smiles. 100% recommend!!

Was in town (from Toronto) for the weekend & looking for some Korean/Japanese eats. Glad we stumbled upon this place as it was a hidden gem. I'm a big guy & usually can eat quite a bit, but man...the portions here were huge that I actually had to pack some food to bring back to the hotel. We ordered the pork katsu rice (curry) & chicken katsu rice (cream) it was on point! The free miso soup was kinda bland & didn't have any real flavour to it. (August 10, 2024)
