Jako is described as a cozy, bustling fusion spot offering Korean and Japanese flavors with generous portions and flavorful dishes like bulgogi dolsot, chicken katsu with cream sauce and mushrooms, tteokkochi, and creamy seafood yaki udon, but there are occasional misses such as bland beef donburi, overly oily tempura donburi, or a dolsot that is too sweet or too salty; the overall impression highlights delicious food, friendly and attentive service, and good value, with reservations often advised as it can get busy and seating is compact, while the warm ambiance and neon lights enhance the experience and many reviewers express a desire to return to explore more menu items.
I disliked the kimchi appetizer which smells & tastes OVER fermented (rotten). Katsu fried pork was OPPOSITE to crispy (soft & soggy surface) Restaurant floor looks stained. Had a fly around me.
I loved the cheese katsu with the gravy. I also like the radish kimchi. The mashed potatoes tasted good too but I wish it was served warm like all the other food instead of cold.

We really enjoyed everything.
The tteokkochi was nice & chewy with a bit of a sweet-spicy kick, the bulgogi dolsot came out sizzling & had a lot of flavor, & the cheese katsu was crispy with melted cheese inside.
Overall just a really good meal. We'd definitely come back.
Great food experience, my favourite is the chicken katsu creme & the udon beef. The staff us very friendly & have great service & the place is very cozy. I usually make my reservation by phone
Yaki Udon au bulgogi is really great, we will come back for that one. We weren't massive fans of the dolsot au Jeyuk, but it was good. The curry chicken katsu was also great.
I always order the Katsu & lately has been less good than it used to be. A bit oily to be honest.
The personnel is attentive but the place is always super full so they are busy

Un solide 4 étoiles pour moi. Le rapport qualité prix & l'ambiance sont bien, tout est bon sans non plus être extraordinaire (ex: katsu un peu sec mais pas si mal, saveurs ok mais pas renversantes non plus).
Cream Katsu dish was delicious. Everyone else in our group enjoyed their food as well. Location was small but cozy & service was good. Appreciated the female servers menu suggestions
Food is so out of this world it's honestly some of the best food In all of MTL like my lord this is so good. We had the chicken Katsu with the curry 🍛 just mind-blowing & dolsot bulgogi soso good so I recommend both for sure & can't wait to go back & try more on the menu!!! 4.6/5!!!
cute little restaurant, the dishes are very good, we had the pork katsu donbori, bulgogi udon, tteokbokki yaki udon & dak galbi dolsot. portions are generous & the prices are also very fair for the quantity you get!! definitely recommend :)
This is an authentic Korean restaurant, & we've been there a few times-every dish has been great & never disappointing. The cheese katsu is the best ever, & other Korean dishes like the spicy pork & soft tofu soup were also really good. One thing to note is that they're always busy, so you'll need a reservation in advance.
Best Korean-Japanese fusion food in Montreal!
The service is impeccable, Sit & Anh are the best. Always get my chicken cream katsu even though my lactose intolerant self can't eat it, I still get it.
The quality of the food is good. The recommendations online is on point. However, the katsu curry is not exactly syncing with the south Asian taste palate but it's something new. Not bad at all.
The porc Donburi & porc dalsot was kinda sweet though. Loved the chicken dalsot. Would definitely recommend it moving forward.
I've been going to Restaurant Jako since 2020, & it continues to be one of the best Japanese & Korean fusion restaurants I've ever been to. Every visit somehow tops the last - the food, the service, & the overall experience just keep getting better.
Two of my all-time favorite dishes are the bulgogi yaki udon & the chicken katsu with cream sauce, mushrooms, & onions - both are packed with flavor & perfectly cooked every time. You can tell they care about quality & consistency. The staff is always friendly & welcoming, & the cozy atmosphere makes it a great place to relax & enjoy an amazing meal.
Highly recommend this gem to anyone who appreciates authentic & delicious Japanese-Korean fusion cuisine!
I loved the vibe! The karaage was delicious & their menu has a ton of intriguing dishes. The pork katsu was a bit soggy but other than that I really liked it!
