Jack Le Coq is widely praised for its fried chicken, with many reviewers noting juicy, crispy chicken and a standout poutine, along with generous portions of tenders and fries and a range of sauces that keep flavors lively. The atmosphere is described as warm and retro, and service is generally quick, friendly, and the space is kept clean, making it a reliable choice for chicken lovers in Verdun. While the chicken quality is celebrated, some reviews point to price increases and occasional inconsistency in texture or flavor, changes after ownership shifts, and issues with orders such as missing items, delivery glitches, or fries going cold. Some diners prefer spicy styles like Nashville and report that the regular version can be bland without added heat, though others praise the bold sauces and the variety of menu options including burgers and mac and cheese. Overall, Jack Le Coq is viewed as a standout option for fried chicken in the area, though a few guests feel value has diminished on recent visits.
My boyfriend had a Jack burger last night & has had food poisoning since this morning. He's laying in bed with a fever right now. Please be more careful when preparing your food so this doesn't happen to other people. We're certainly not going back.
Very good food but very bad service!! Dark skin cashier girl is so rude, very bad communication, paid 40$ & asked for sauces they forgot it!! One more time very good food but very bad service which is worst!! Never going back to this spot ever again

10/10, Hands-down the best chicken in Montreal. We come to Verdun all the time for Jack le Coq.
Service was beyond incredible, & the manager hand-delivered the food & was extremely personable. Employees were very patient & kind.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm & very clean. The lighting & restaurant layout gives it a retro-style diner vibe.
22:30 ... elle lâche son cell pour me servir & me dire quil n'y a plus de poulet ces 25-30 min d'attente... il ferme a 23:30
Il a tjrs qqchose de croche chq fois .. ils sont bizzard anyways last time for me...

Fantastique!
Allez-y sans tarder...
Person who took my order tried telling me it would be impossible to not put sauce on my burger, & tried to backtrack when I called him out on the obvious lie. Still tipped, but when I pressed 10% it immediately applied a 30% tip.
