We caught the FIFA game when England won. Effie served us & kept checking on us. When the sound system played'Let it go' from Frozen, all of the bartenders & servers gathered to sing-along. Great entertainment! Lots of fun!
Transparency- We went to eat but the primary reason that Hurley's was selected was because the serve Murphys Irish Stout :). So, the beer was delicious 😋. The location us a bit of a labyrinth & the inside bar/service staff were really not much help, as a result had to guess our way to the back courtyard as we wanted to be outside but we made it. There is outdoor seating that is covered out front as well as all kinds of space inside to sit. The back courtyard was nice, more of a private, the staff outside were far batter than the inside, based on our experience. The pricing was very fair, drinks were good, small food menu when we went but good quality & plenty of food on the plate. 2 of us had the club sandwich which was served on sourdough bread (very good). It had real chicken breast as well as crispy bacon & a large serving if fries. The other two meals were the fish & chips (large portion & 1/2 pound of chicken wings which were covered in sauce. The wings were full wings & the slats were still attached to the drumstick, bbq sauce was tasy & came with a side of cut carrots & celery. There was a TV on out back & inside playing the FIFA World Cup games. Overall, we would go back, pint pours were done well, cocktails were very fairly priced food was decent & it did not break the bank! Cheers
Was in Ireland for a month. Had a Guiness almost everyday. Came back to Montreal & after a week I couldn't stop thinking about one. Decided to go to Hurley's & I'm so happy that I did. The pint was just like I had in Ireland & the stew was amazing. Thanks guys. 👍🏻
Hurley's brazenly have two menus, a table menu & cashier menu. Or, at least on St.Patrick's Day weekend. The cashier menu shows higher prices. This was confirmed when I checked Hurley's online menu for ( iceberg lettuce) Caesar Salad, listing it as $15+ tax, no add-ons . I paid $18 plus tax, this March. At the table menu , it was listed as about $12. That's legal? Nope. The prices surely didn't go down. At the time, no camera phone was available to take a picture, but I definitely paid higher than what should have been paid. Don't go there. Nevertheless, if you do, take photos of the table menu, to compare with your final bill, for your own security.
Was in Montreal for the Canada & Ireland game, & at the recommendation of a local guy we took our self's to Hurley's , with about 5 others at the bar inside & a group of 6/8 outside, but Sorry guys the only thing Irish about this bar was the name, prices & few photos on the wall of irish GAA players, with also about 6 TV's on, all showing the same game & volume so high we moved to another side of the bar, which was equally as loud, we were shouting at each other, just crazy, so much so when our drink orders came down the bar man must have missed heard my order there was only 4 of us we had two pints of Guinness, even though I only ordered one, me thinking buy one get one free, (no such luck) didn't go to wast . Will we go back no, I will some day to issue a bill for hearing aids. Would i recommend to a fellow Irish person, No. , but that's just my opinion, ' sometimes if you don't want the answer, don't ask the question..
Came to Hurleys Irish pub catching the end of f1 weekend on the Sunday night, even though it was the most packed I've ever seen it. The bartender (Ethan) treated me & my girlfriend so kindly. Always smiling & even bought us a round. I'll recommend anyone to hurleys to look out for the skinny bartender with the buzz cut behind the bar. Will be back & definitely my go to spot for the thirsty nights.
I absolutely love Hurley's. Such a tremendous selection of beer, as well as a pretty good selection of whiskeys particularly those from Ireland. There are multiple rooms throughout so you can always find a place that suits your needs, whether you want to be somewhere with live music & crowded, or if you want to be in a small nook having a quiet conversation, be romantic or not. The staff are equally incredible, with people working there for decades, as well as students, some of which are pursuing Irish studies.
If you're looking for a pint & a lovely meal, excellent atmosphere & interesting patrons, this is the place to go. We will definitely be back as we have been many many times. See you then.
Hurley's is a great spot! It's definitely my favourite pub in Montreal. They have live music, good Irish beer, & a comedy club. Btw, also check out their black velvet beer.
Had not been to Hurley's in years & went last week. The bar has not changed & I love it!! ❤?
Classic irish pub ambiance, friendly service & great live entertainment. Thanks for the fun evening & cheers to you all! 😄👍🍻
Not for nothing that Hurleys is THE Irish pub in Montreal. Pints & live music. Get some.
