Wow, can't say enough about this pub. We were on a 25-day road trip through Canada. We spent 2 nights in Montreal. We always seek out Irish pubs, & we found a gem. We had dinner at Hurleys & as always, we sat at the bar, because that is the best way to meet the local folks. Our bartender, Sam was absolutely the best. We had met Sam earlier in the day when we stopped in for a cold beer. He was so welcoming, we decided to go back for dinner. The Best decision in Montreal. We met three truly amazing guys. Kristen, Rod & Michael. We talked for quite a while & enjoyed swapping stories. Though Sam was busy, he made sure he came over & joined in the fun. They all made us feel like we were old friends. We left that night knowing that we really did make new friends. so, If you are traveling through Montreal, stop by & see Sam, & make some new friends. John & Nancy Fetter Harlem, Georgia USA
A good cosy & clean Irish Pub in central MTL , have been several times Good choice of beers , good Guinness ( from the Tap & Guinness zero from the can ) overall excellent service , a bit let down by the food ( & plenty of alternatives locally for better food ) , steak salat was underwhelming & a poor portion of meet for the price * note to owner - bring back the original steaks & poutine , fries , live music was good , fair pricing , nice terrace out front & back , will be back against , tip parking nearby & 2 mins from Novotel
Typical pub with large beer selection, small menu but good food particularly the Caesar salad. Outdoor patio on a nice day is a great afternoon break.
I appreciate the laid back but attentive service as this pub. Their Guinness was fresh last time I went (not bitter) & their food is basic but solid pub fare. I typically get the chicken wings & fries - do be warned though that it can take a long time for the food to come out of the kitchen, so don't wait until you're starving to order.
This is THE classic Irish pub in Montreal. Stone walls, proper pints, & Celtic music. Plus, the lively conversations around the bar.
Love Hurley's, it's my go-to Irish Pub! Great atmosphere, great music & great beer. It does get pretty busy on the weekends so if you want to sit at a table & watch the band then I suggest getting there early.
Un endroit très sympathique. Accueillie par une personne très gentille. Nous n'étions que de passe mais j'ai beaucoup apprécié l'ambiance pub & le choix des bières (même si je fini toujours par prendre une guiness)
Well, honestly I was very disappointed 😞 Both, on Hurley's website & Google map (menu), the nachos are showing at 15$.... only to get there & pay 24$ for it. What a bummer... Very little cheese on it & way to less of what I would expect for a nachos at that price. The service was minimal. With other pubs around, next time I will not choose this place..
Good old pub atmosphere. Good service, good Guinness & hospitality from staff super. Smelly Gents, I suppose it's so bust. Ha ha. After 8pm is best.
Best Irish pub I've been to outside of Ireland. Hurley's nails the'feel' of a traditional Irish pub, & has the best Guiness I've found this side of the Atlantic. Definitely check it out for a pint or two or three.
Such an old world feeling at this pub. Another landmark in Montreal. There are many nooks & crannies to find & kick back for great food & drink. You are most likely to meet some of the locals, & if you are lucky, you may even meet the owner, who creates a boon of hospitality. The bartenders & servers are fantastic! What are you waiting for!!
Came here on a busy weekend night. Great atmosphere for an Irish Pub. There was live fiddle music the night I went. Loved the music. I also came a couple times before this on less busy days. It was difficult for me & my friends to get the attention of the barman for drinks. I had ordered a pint of Murphy's. Unfortunately, it tasted incredibly sour - not at all what I'm used to since I order a Murphy's wherever it's available. I'm not sure if this means it was old, the lines weren't clean, etc. I was hoping to have a great stout since it's hard to come by in Montreal. Definitely has a great Irish feel. Maybe the sour pint was an isolated incident. I recommend the owners put more emphasis on quality control - particularly on the stouts, since how their poured, presented, & taste are important (at least to me) for an Irish pub.
I love Guinness & Hurley's knows the right way to pour one. The best Guinness I've had out of about 5 other Irish pubs. Food is good, fries & poutine are both standouts for me, although I'll admit I don't eat much while I'm there. The music is fantastic. The band is always great & always plays songs that get people singing along. Fiddle player is a nice touch, always sounds great, but all the players are good. Thoroughly enjoyed myself here more than once.
Went to the pub after the hockey game. They had a Irish band downstairs & comedy night upstairs. Good pub food.
