Food was delicious French fare. They did an excellent job with the wine. The place is just a little noisy. The ceiling could use some acoustic baffles to make conversation easier, but I can't wait to go back!
Had a lovely lunch & enjoyed the food. Chose classic French cuisine & were not disappointed. Attentive & friendly service.
Endroit super!! Joe a été fantastique !! Service exceptionnel ! Nourriture excellente !
We came here with some business vendors who took us out for dinner. The inside is very classy & chique. & our waiter was very friendly & attentive during the whole meal. We started with some appetizers of oysters, steak tartare, foie gras & French onion soup. My main was the lobster ravioli. We finished with a few dessert samplings including crème brûlée. It was an amazing meal. Everything was delicious! I will definitely come back here when I'm back in Montreal!
Amazing service received by Joe! Attentive & efficient. Great variety of dishes & drinks!
Très beau restaurant, belle ambiance & nourriture délicieuse. Excellent service, quoi qu'un peu expéditif.
The braised beef cheeks was very scrumptious, tender, juicy & all that jazz! We also tried salmon tartare & it was beautiful & cute, both in taste & looks.
The mussels in broth were unbelievable. Fantastic service, including for kids. Thanks to Joe for the wine samples & cookies.
Loved everything about this restaurant! The food & service were excellent! The waiter that assisted was so kind & thoughtful! The atmosphere was great with the music & eclectic decor!
In a world where casual dining is suffering to provide good value & good service for the money, Holder stands out for being both.
Had one of the best meals in a while. The beef cheek bourgonnon was incredible. Server was also amazing. Michael did a fantastic jo
Excellente nourriture, excellent service.
I'm writing this review two years after my visit to Holder. I had their Moules à la Pastis & I am still thinking about it. This is as good as moules-frites gets. The mussels were fresh & the broth was both flavourful & complex. Is it the best moules-frites? I cannot say because I have not tried every moules-frites in the world but if I have to find a better moules-frites that would be an endeavour. Sure, maybe the best moules-frite is still out there. But to be tossed back to the sea of bistros, to be again at the mercy of fortune, whether it's the not-so-fresh undercooked mussels or the disappointment when the chef mistook simple to mean bland in the business of mussel-cooking. Or when the cook has taken too much liberty with the wine that you can skip the aperitif.
Why? When one could just ask for a table & a bowl of Moules à la Pastis at Holder.
