If going there twice in three days in a five day trip to Montreal doesn't tell you how awesome the place is, I do not know what will.
The servers are extremely knowledgeable of all the items on the menu & can recommend the best dish for you if you are not sure what to order & you will be impressed with whatever they recommend. We had the mussels, the steak frites, the braised beef cheeks & it is really hard to pick a favourite. The atmosphere is awesome & the staff is so friendly. on the two occasions we were served by Charlotte & Matt & they were tremendous & the manager came in both visits to check on us. Highly highly recommended

We went back this year! Again, great service & food! True classic! A veritable Parisian experience in the heart of Montreal… absolutely delicious classic French brasserie type of fare. Beef cheek bourguignon served over dreamy mashed potatoes was divine… the endive salad a delight! Highly recommend…

L'accueil, le décor de fou, l'ambiance, super tranquille tranquille, on s'entend parler, on nous explique le menu, on nous recommandé des choses, on sent qu'on est spécial, c'est vraiment un service personnalisé & chaleureux, super rapide aussi ce que nous avons apprécié, car nous avions un spectacle, nous sommes passés un super beau moment. Je recommande 100%. C'était tellement bon !!! Un beau menu varié & réconfortant avec de beaux cocktails.

We came to Montreal for a special family occasion & had a large group of 15, including 8 children. The service was impeccable! The staff were incredibly accommodating, bringing the children's meals out first & promptly, & quickly taking care of a spilled drink without any fuss.

Everything ran so smoothly that we had plenty of time to make our ghost tour afterward. Overall, we had a wonderful experience - great food, fantastic service, beautiful restaurant & especially impressive for such a large group with so many kids. We would absolutely recommend!

We had an amazing dinner at Holder restaurant this week. To start, the service was exceptional! Very attentive & friendly. The food was also amazing. My wife & I shared a few things & were very impressed with the flavour of the dishes. Would highly recommend.

I had made reservation just before I went there, it confirmed right away. It was good start. It looked so busy at the moment, I was excited to have onion soup. But onion soup was not warm enough, only on top of the cheese was hot. Also it is too watery & not savory enough. My server didn't do qualty check for food, she just popped up when I got my food. I waited for taking my bill & billing out long time. Also I saw someone using their saliva to take off the table paper easily.
I highly recommend Duck confit, but I am not sure I am gonna come back.

I had an amazing dining experience at Holder. The manager of one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Toronto recommended this place, & it absolutely lived up to the recommendation.

I ordered the cold foie gras & the duck confit, & both were exceptional. The foie gras was fresh, delicate, & surprisingly light, with delicious accompaniments that perfectly balanced its richness. The duck confit was cooked to perfection-crispy on the outside, incredibly tender on the inside, & full of deep, rich flavor.

Every component of the dishes worked beautifully together, creating a meal with wonderful depth of flavor & perfect balance. The presentation was elegant, & the quality of the ingredients really stood out.

The service was also excellent. Everyone was warm, attentive, & professional, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.

I can absolutely see why this restaurant was recommended to me.
