Ça fait maintenant 10ans que je côtoie le restaurant & définitivement le holder reste mon restaurant préféré de mes pauses lunch en extérieur dans le quartier pour son rapport qualité/prix dans sa catégorie. L'ardoise est toujours aussi appréciable, merci le holder ! Rare fois ou j'accepte que le prix de la formule ait prix 50% en 10ans...

After driving 7 hours to arrive in Montreal, I dropped in here for dinner. The bar staff were welcoming & friendly. They helped me with my French & Quebecois. I had the frisée salad, steak frites, & crème brûlée. All were excellent. I came back the next night for dessert with a date. More creme brûlée & the butterscotch cake. Again another phenomenal experience. PS: so glad I skipped 5 guys. I was so tired & ready to just do takeout. LOL!
Really great restaurant. It was 9pm when we were looking for a restaurant & were turned away at many other restaurants. The hotel called Holders & they could accommodate us. When we walked in the doors they greeted us & were really friendly. Lori our server was so great. Really friendly & super helpful. We really enjoyed the French onion soup, it was light & very flavorful. The veal strip special was so flavorful, I loved the cauliflower & turnips. Highly recommend this restaurant for good food & even better service

Food very good if you ordered it but service was lacking. The server assumed that we wanted steak when we wanted duck. The server also had it well done when we preferred rare (like everyone else at the table). Due to lack of time, we accepted the steak but it spoiled our appetite & desire to stay.
My "go to" restaurant when hosting in Montreal. Food was a little disappointing this time around (over salted everything?) Good service, but not great as per the usual.

The stars I'm giving is mainly for service, which was top notch. The food was not so good. The duck & the rack of lamb were one of the worst I tried, Hanger steak & the veal were fine. Duck confit was dry & did not taste good. Rack of lamb was not cooked well & the smell was bad.
Classic bistro food, consistently well-executed. Kind & efficient service. Comfortable atmosphere. Good for any crowd/event, even with kids. Sad selection of wine by the glass.
Had a fantastic experience here, food & service was top notch! Our favourites were the warm goat cheese entrée, beef tartare, & duck confit. The butterscotch mi-cuit was amazing as well. Will definitely come again next time we're in the city.
Excellent service, quickly served & polite waiters. The food was unbelievably delicious! We had beef tartare as an entree, then I had the duck confit which was very well seasoned & tender, & then we had crème brûlée for the first time & it was very good!! Highly recommend
