I've been wanting to try Hermes Greek Cuisine in Rosemère for the longest time, but for some reason I always hesitated. Well… what a mistake that was, because after tonight I can honestly say I've been missing out!
The moment you walk through the door, you're welcomed like family. The staff is warm, friendly, & genuinely makes you feel at home. You can tell they truly care about their customers.
Now let's talk about the food…
I started with a bowl of Fakes, the traditional Greek lentil soup. The second it was placed in front of me, I knew I was in for something special. It looked incredible, & the aroma instantly reminded me of being in Greece. Then came the first spoonful… wow! I'm Greek, & I've eaten more bowls of lentil soup than I can count, but this was hands down the best I've ever had. Sorry, yiayia… but this one takes the crown!
Halfway through my bowl, I realized one wasn't going to be enough. I flagged down my waiter, Francis, & jokingly told him to get another one started immediately. Had I known it was going to be that good, I would've skipped everything else & ordered four bowls!
Next came a simple psilokomeni salad-shredded romaine, olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, & crumbled feta. Sometimes the simplest dishes are the hardest to perfect, & they absolutely nailed it. The olive oil was unlike anything I'd ever tasted. I asked where it came from because I wanted to buy some. It turns out it's an imported Cretan olive oil from Greece, & it was absolutely phenomenal. It elevated the entire salad.
For my main course, I ordered the pork souvlaki plate. Again, nothing overly fancy-just authentic Greek food done exceptionally well. The pork was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, juicy, & lean with no excess fat. Every bite was delicious.
The restaurant itself is small & cozy. It originally focused on catering but currently seats only about 18 people. The exciting news is that they'll be closing for about two to three weeks starting this Sunday to expand into the empty space next door. Once the renovations are complete, they'll have seating for approximately 70 to 80 guests. After eating here, I have no doubt they'll fill those seats.
It's not a bring-your-own-wine restaurant, but they have an excellent selection of reasonably priced Greek wines & beers.
If you visit on Fridays or Saturdays, you're in for an extra treat. They serve traditional homemade Greek classics like pastitsio, moussaka, & stuffed peppers. Since everything is prepared fresh & in limited quantities, I'd highly recommend calling ahead to reserve your meal before they sell out.
From the outstanding food to the welcoming atmosphere & exceptional service, Hermes Greek Cuisine delivered one of the best Greek dining experiences I've had in a very long time.
Needless to say, I'll be back-& probably sooner than they expect.
If you're looking for authentic Greek food that tastes like it came straight from Greece, do yourself a favor & visit Hermes Greek Cuisine in Rosemère. You won't regret it.
*10/10. Five stars without hesitation. Highly recommended! 🇬🇷❤?
We were looking for a restaurant close to our hotel in Laval, & we're so glad we found this place! Everything was absolutely delicious. We started with the 3 dips, & the portion was huge…perfect for sharing. The pita was incredibly fresh, warm, & so flavorful. For our mains, we had the Mykonos Bowl & a side of greek potatoes, & both were outstanding. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned. If you're in the area & craving authentic, fresh food, I highly recommend this place.
Amazing. Big portions, fresh ingredients, good pricing. We watched the world cup game & had an amazing meal. Will come back.
Wow, good honest food. Folksy, friendly casual service ( VICKY, our waitress was on top of it all along, thanks!! ) . We booked for 7h on a saturday evening. Place was packed & take out orders were rolling. Staff was plentiful, & the food FRESH.
Must try the spanakopita.
Had the grilled octopus plate, octopus was fresh & properly charred & seasonned. Greek salad veggies were off the top fresh ( & yes, ripe tomatoes).
So , come for the food ( worth the try) in this small familly run homestyle restaurant.
VICKY IS THE BEST!!
I went last night for the first time, & from the moment I walked in , it transported me straight back to my childhood in Greece. The flavours are so authentic, so deeply familiar, that I had one of those rare moments where you take a bite, stop, & think: this tastes like home. The food was absolutely declisious !!!!
The quality is exceptional. Fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned dishes, & that unmistakable Greek warmth in every flavour. Everything tasted intentional, nothing rushed, nothing generic. It's the kind of food that tells a story, & Hermès tells it beautifully.
& the service? Outstanding. Warm, attentive, & genuinely proud of what they bring to the table. They welcome you like family, not customers, which is rarer than it should be.
I felt reconnected with tradition, with nostalgia, with everything we grew up loving about Greek food.
Just had dinner & If we could leave more starts we would , authentic, friendly , fresh from starter to desserts. This Greek restaurant is the real deal.. can't believe we were looking for similar spot all these years !!
Went for dinner Friday night with no reservations; we were seated right away. Very nice & clean restaurant. The service was great & the food was fantastic! Very fresh & delicious food! Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food; fresh, authentic, delicious,'home-made' in the family kitchen of the restaurant
Excellent location; easy access, beautiful area, parking spaces in front of the place.
Excellent interior; cozy, clean, filled with natural light.
The service is… courageous. One more waitress on duty would have transformed this comment to'excellent service'. But it is family-owned-operated, relatively new restaurant, so it's understandable that they are trying to limit the overhead. That's okay. The quality of the food compensates this shortcoming (& btw, the waitress was a very nice person, despite the fact that she was so overworked…)
The only problem : this is not bring a «your own wine» eatery.
Whoever decided this in the family of the owners, made a mistake there. A wrong calculation.
This could become the sole reason why such a good restaurant may end up having to… struggle. Considering notably the immediate competition, since there are so many - quite good - Greek restaurants, which are «your own wine» type. Which could cut the clients' bill in half, depending on the people who are around the table.
Just cancel that other liquor license, replace it with the one corresponding to the'bring your own wine' formula, & make sure to announce this everywhere you can on the Internet - starting with your website - .
As soon you do that, we shall return, with our bottles of wine (by the way, clients who are drinkers, usually, order more food… while with the price of the bottles that you are selling, they will either not drink at all, or drink much less, & thus, order less food…)
The food was incredibly fresh & absolutely delicious-every dish was full of flavor & clearly made with quality ingredients. Our waitress was so friendly & welcoming.
Update: went back last night & got a few more pork gyros & some fries, gyros are absolutely amazing, one of my favorites. Staff is still super friendly. Fries are good but not my style. I prefer fresh cut potatoes. This is definitely the best gyro on the north shore hands down!
Staff is SUPER friendly, went there last night for take out, took 2 gyro, amazing, in my top 3 gyros, prices are good, didn't have time to try anything else but from what I hear the fries are amazing too, will make a more in-depth review & update mine next time.
