Review Summary

Hansik is described as a cozy, family-owned Korean restaurant with a warm, welcoming vibe and authentic flavors. Generous portions and affordable prices are repeatedly highlighted, with fried chicken, bibimbap, bulgogi, tteokbokki, katsu, and other comforting staples among the crowd pleasers. The space is noted for its retro decor and neighborhood charm, creating a homey, unpretentious dining experience. Staff are frequently praised for friendliness and attentiveness, with small touches that feel thoughtful. Several reviewers mention that the ambiance feels like a neighborhood treasure and that the restaurant is a good place to dine with family or for casual meals. A few critiques include overcooked eggs in bibimbap, oily or overbattered fried items, and a note about inconsistent portion quality or price value in some visits. Overall, Hansik comes across as a reliable, comforting option for authentic Korean food in Montreal, with many patrons planning to return.

Just lunched there today with my daughter. Service & food was great. Had the Bulgogi Bibimap, spicy chicken, soy & garlic chicken & deep fried shrimp. Not sure what the few bad reviews about it being oily & over battered are all about? Gov either a try, you won't be disappointed.

Hansik on Rue Lajeunesse is a cozy, family-owned Korean restaurant with a warm, inviting vibe & genuinely kind staff. Their spicy chicken is packed with flavor, the bibimbap is freshly made, & the bulgogi dishes-whether with noodles or in a lunch box, are perfectly marinated. Don't miss the tteok-bokki if you love a good spicy kick. It's a great spot for comforting, authentic Korean food in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Highly recommended!

I got a take out of their fried chicken for dinner once, apparently the dinner menu is different from the lunch menu with different prices from both menus. Since the fried chicken tasted good so I went again to try their lunch menu, which is cheaper as they're in a set.

I had the Lunchbox Combo & chosen spicy pork, apparently as an Asian I don't feel spicy at all but I don't mind. It tasted like home cooked food & the portion was just precisely enough for me. One thing to highlight is I loved the mandu (fried dumpling) in the Lunchbox Combo so much!!! It tasted so good.

The owner is very humble, friendly & super keen to enhance customers experience as they're newly opened, he would like to hear more feedback so he could better adjust to customer needs.
Before I left, he asked if I was a Kpop fan & what Kpop group I like then gave me stickers of my favorite Blackpink.
