Le restaurant Grinder est installé sur la rue Notre-Dame, au coeur de Griffintown. Effectivement, ce quartier du sud-ouest de Montréal est dynamique et prometteur, plusieurs projets domiciliaires et commerciaux sont déjà en voie de réalisation.
Le décor original est signé Zébulon Perron (Furco, Buvette à Simone, Philémon). Il a crée un espace très confortable et chaleureux avec, une cuisine ainsi qu’un bar à cru. Le Grinder se caractérise par des éléments de style vintage, ainsi que des éléments plus modernes de verre et de métal.
Au menu, du cru et du cuit: tartares, tatakis, céviches, carpaccios, etc. Aussi des steaks et pièces de viandes grillées ou braisées, le tout selon une formule partage. Le Grinder offre aussi une variété de poissons et de produits de la mer également servis crus et cuits. Plus qu'un simple steakhouse, tous les gourmands trouveront leurs compte dans une vaste sélection de produits frais.
Une carte des vins 100% importation privée, toujours en constante évolution selon les saisons, et bien sur en privilégiant les vins produits dans le respect de la nature.
Les avis convergent pour décrire Grinder comme une adresse montréalaine incontournable pour les amateurs de viande et de fruits de mer, avec des plats généreux, des cuissons maîtrisées et une présentation soignée dans un cadre chic et chaleureux. Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here! The atmosphere was warm & welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive & knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The food was exceptional - fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, & beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The portions were generous & well worth the price. The restaurant was clean & well-maintained, & despite being busy, we didn't feel rushed. The dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. We'll definitely be returning soon & would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal & excellent service. Five stars!
On Valentine's Day, we reserved a table for two at Grinder for our first visit - & it truly exceeded our expectations.
When we arrived, a very kind gentleman named Etienne welcomed us warmly & showed us to our table. Shortly after, our waiter Devin took care of us with such professionalism & genuine kindness. The atmosphere was vibrant yet romantic - perfect for a special evening.
We started with the Wagyu beef carpaccio & fried calamari, both absolutely delicious & beautifully presented. For our main course, we originally ordered the 40 oz Côte de Boeuf to share. After our appetizers, Etienne kindly informed us that they had unfortunately run out of it & offered two 20 oz New York style steaks instead. We agreed, & the way he handled the situation was incredibly thoughtful & professional.
To make up for the inconvenience, Etienne generously offered us complimentary cocktails. He even came back to confirm our drinks & surprised us with three cocktails, personally joining us for a cheerful toast & wishing my boyfriend a happy birthday. That personal touch made the night so special.
Our steaks were outstanding - perfectly cooked & full of flavor. To end the evening, they brought us a dessert with ice cream on the house for my boyfriend's birthday, which was such a sweet gesture.
Everything from the service to the food & atmosphere was exceptional. A huge thank you to Etienne & Devin for making our night so memorable. We highly recommend Grinder & will definitely be back!

Grinder is the Resto we reserve for special occasions. Great oysters, perfectly cooked steak & fish, & friendly smiling staff. Seems like the go-to destination for the beautiful 30-somethings, lucky they let us in :) Highly recommended!

Restaurant Grinder absolutely delivers: top-tier cuts, perfectly cooked, generous portions, & an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a stylish carnivore sanctuary. Every bite was a reminder that cows did not sacrifice themselves in vain.
Now let's talk about Alejandro. Not a manager - THE manager. This man runs the place like a Michelin-starred spaceship. Friendly, sharp, genuinely cares, & somehow everywhere at once. If customer service had a Hall of Fame (or a universe), Alejandro would be the first inductee, president, & honorary supreme leader. Top-notch manager. Top-notch human. Possibly not even human. Legend status.
If you like great food, good vibes, & being treated like royalty without wearing a crown, this is the place. Highly recommend. Will be back. Probably too often.
We had a great night yesterday! Reservation ran 30 minutes late...that was one of the only negative point...but they made it up with providing us with shots & free dessert platter! Food was amazing! I had a NY steak with mushroom side. Great taste & perfect medium rare steak. Service was great & with attention. They have a dj playing music which was a bit loud, we had trouble hearing when server was speaking or even between us... But overall amazing experience & recommend to others!
I came last week & the service & food were amazing. I had the ribeye & it was perfectly done. My server Julia was attentive & made us feel extremely welcome & taken care of. Would recommend.

I had a wonderful dining experience here! The food was absolutely delicious & you can really taste the effort & care put into every dish. The environment is cozy & comfortable, perfect for enjoying a nice meal. Special thanks to our waiter, Arthur, who was extremely polite, attentive, & thoughtful - he truly made our visit extra pleasant. Highly recommend this restaurant!
WOW! Alejandro was absolutely fantastic! You HAVE to request him if you go to eat here. He made our experience so perfect! We both ordered steaks that were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the calamari for an appetizer. Definitely check this place out while in montreal!

Delicious food overall, it was pricey but fair & the atmosphere was rather rustic in a nice way. The waitress did end up forgetting one of our entrées but in the end we were full so it wasn't so bad. Highly recommend the beef short ribs.

We've been to Grinder twice now, this time for Mother's Day, & both visits were fantastic. The food, service, & atmosphere all hit the mark.
My favourite thing on the menu has to be the Hamachi, so fresh & flavourful. This time around, we ordered the Wagyu carpaccio, Hamachi, French onion soup, steak (which came with a flight of sauces, loved that touch), & the short ribs. For sides, we had the sweet potato fries & mushrooms. The only small letdown was the mushrooms, not because they weren't good, but because they were different from the ones we had the first time, which we absolutely loved. Still tasty though!
Everything was delicious & well-executed. I'd definitely recommend trying this spot.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere & the food was really delicious. The service was also excellent & very professional. However, the noise level was a bit too much, & I wouldn't recommend going there on a hot summer day-there was no proper air conditioning, & it was extremely hot inside. I think this place is great for hanging out with friends, but not suitable for celebrating special occasions.
We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at Grinder, & it couldn't have been more perfect. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth & genuine hospitality.
The food was fantastic-each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, & bursting with flavor. Every bite felt like a celebration in itself.
Our server, Jennifer, was exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, & made us feel truly special throughout the evening. It was clear she genuinely cared about our experience, & she went above & beyond in every way.
What truly touched us was that the team at Grinder remembered it was our anniversary & surprised us with a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate. It's those thoughtful details that really set a restaurant apart.
Grinder is a gem-not only because of the incredible food, but also because of the people who make it such a special place. We can't wait to return.

My family & I enjoyed a night at Grinder yesterday… The hostess gave us the warmest welcome & was so quick on her feet-she had a very positive energy. The food matched its description perfectly-the Surf&turfs, in particular, was absolutely exceptional. To top it off, our waiter kindly offered us dessert, which was just as delightful. I strongly recommend this place.
Le service est excellent & la disposition du restaurant fait rêver. Les plats & les sauces sont recherchés. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant. Vous passerez une bonne soirée en groupes.
