Gon Bui is a new Chinese resto-bar inspired by the lost temples in China. Gon Bui means 'Cheers' in Cantonese. We create our own new-Asian tapas dishes, inspired from traditional with a playful twist.
Gon Bui Restaurant Bar delivers a stylish, welcoming atmosphere with moody lighting, chic decor and a fortune tree that adds a memorable touch for any occasion. The menu blends Chinese inspired flavors with contemporary twists and offers plenty of shareable plates that are flavorful, well presented and often praised for freshness. Cocktails are inventive and varied, with many options and some standout signatures that complement the bold flavors. The service is described as friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, helping guests navigate and enjoy their meals, though a few notes about busy times mention occasional delays. The vibe is lively and social, whether brunch, night out with friends or date night, with music and a vibrant yet comfortable environment. This Laval favorite is repeatedly cited for high quality food and drinks, warm hospitality and a decor that makes it a standout spot worth returning to.
We were super excited to try this place. Honestly the service was good & the decor amazing - but we wish we could say the same about the food. It really did feel that the food was cheap & the quality was hit by the inflation. While the portion are fine, the quality or the ingredients were low in particular the meat (dumpling or noodles). Honestly we were super disappointed. I leave you judge with the pictures we're adding here can see those are the cheapest pieces of beef you can get.
Tried their brunch & it was amazing!! They had Filipino-inspired Ube French toast that I ordered which was *chefs kiss*. The service is so good, water always topped up, greeted with a smile & they're so friendly. The place is gorgeously decorated & really appreciate the love they put into making this place such a treat to eat at. Highly recommend!

Ambiance, food & service 10/10! The food presentation was superb & it was delicious (had to stop myself from ordering seconds😂) Our waiter was very attentive & gave great suggestions for our drinks. Also loved the decor of this restaurant, it's very cozy. Would recommend for a romantic dinner date :)
Ate here for the first time tonight & it was an excellent time! Hostess was super warm & welcoming & service was friendly & helpful. We tried the hong kong curry, veggie udon, sesame wings & poutine. Every dish was delicious. For 2 ppl with average appetites, we were full with 4 shared dishes & dessert. The chinese churros & Mango Tango cocktail were delicious too. The atmosphere was buzzing & the decor is beautiful. Lots of attention to detail. We'll definitely be back with friends :)
We were very excited to try this place out - expectations were high & they didn't disappoint! Food was delicious, wait staff was kind & helpful, decor & atmosphere are great. Only downside is the wait & how loud it got. I'd definitely recommend this place if you have time to spend (makes a great date night!). Personal favourites - Forbidden Melon (whisky sour with a twist) & Jade tofu

Beautiful decor & very friendly staff. The ube toast was really good though I have mixed feelings about the instant noodles in their East to Nest dish. My mouth had a great time but my conscience is quite upset.
Not your typical Chinese restaurant. From the decor to the serveware, everything is well thought, beautiful! The service was okay, could be better. We asked the waiter what he suggests we order, he said they have a new menu so they are testing it out. So he wasn't sure what to suggest. However what we ordered (for 2) was very good & tasty. We ordered the shrimp dumpling, 4pcs for $16 a bit pricy but the dumplings are filled with shrimp & you can actually taste the shrimp. We also ordered the squid, which was lightly panéed & grilled which added a beautiful taste. However, the squid was a bit chewy. For main dish we ordered the Lo Mein Lobster & it was really good. Overall, we had a good time & enjoyed the food, the only downfall was the music. Why is a Chinese restaurant playing loud R&B music? It contradicts the restaurant's personality! That is why they lose some points on the atmosphere. But I will go back & try other dishes for sure.
What a great restaurant! Came here with a group of women. The food was delicious, staff was sweet & friendly & the decor was beautiful. We had such a great time & can't wait to return. Thanks for being awesome!

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. We got the sesame chicken wings, shrimp tacos & grilled salmon. Everything was cooked to perfection ( personal favorite were the shrimp tacos). I found the prices to be very reasonable. Service was great & very attentive to us. I dropped my chopsticks twice & the noticed & brought me new ones every time. The decorations in the restaurant are also super impressive, makes the whole visit worth it. Even the bathrooms are gorgeous. Strongly recommend if you like asian flavours & great cozy ambiance.
The restaurant combines traditional Chinese cuisine & western bistro style. The decoration & the bar with music provides a popular ambience. If you are looking for a freestyle place & meet with colleagues & friends, that’s the one. However, you can’t find any evocative food here. Few choices, most of the dishes are spicy or cold served, which is not friendly for children (check what I’ve said above). Dishes portion is tiny (pictures shown are for 2 adults & 1 kid). Pickled food is easy to tell & you won’t feel confortable with it. Anyway, I think it’s only on the cusp of acceptability, I’m not really recommending.
Everything was perfect! We took many dishes to share for our group of 6 & we loved every single one. They came quickly. The calamari were especially interesting, quite different from what we’re used to. Very nice attention to detail in the decor of the place & in the presentation of each plate. & the waitress was bubbly & attentive. She brought bottles of water a few times in the evening without us asking. Great service!

Came here for a quick dinner before a concert, & I absolutely loved my experience! My friend recommended the Papaya Salad & it was delicious, the Calamari was also very good with a little spicy twist to it. The decor inside was very unique, overall was a great experience:)
I heard about this restaurant a long time ago from social media. Finally got the chance to go.
The restaurant is very pretty with lots of ambiance. The Chinese good fortune red tree is spectacular. The design of the restaurant is in between modern & ancient Asian designs. I was very amazed by the decoration.
The cocktails were all on point. I would definitely to come back to try other cocktails on the menu. They were all well made with a little touch of the Asian flavor. I really enjoyed there cocktails.
The food on the other hand was okay. Nothing really amazing but they were all very well presented & good. But I would say you could definitely get these dishes in Chinatown or other Chinese restaurants in cheaper price (& more tastier). There wasn't anything that I would say I would come back for the food.
I would highly recommend for people who love cocktails.
