Gon Bui is a new Chinese resto-bar inspired by the lost temples in China. Gon Bui means 'Cheers' in Cantonese. We create our own new-Asian tapas dishes, inspired from traditional with a playful twist.
Gon Bui Restaurant Bar delivers a stylish, welcoming atmosphere with moody lighting, chic decor and a fortune tree that adds a memorable touch for any occasion. The menu blends Chinese inspired flavors with contemporary twists and offers plenty of shareable plates that are flavorful, well presented and often praised for freshness. The server Clark came to welcome us at the door & brought us to our table. When we said it was our first time he explain what was shareable & what was something that we can eat individually. He also explained the promotions going around for drink which was helpful! He also checked in on us when we were eating which was great.
The decor, the music & the atmosphere were very appealing.
This is a good place if you want to hangout with friends or go on a date night.

Un bon 30 minutes avant qu'on prenne notre commande. Les entrées arrivent avant les drinks. Ensuite silence radio durant 45 minutes pour avoir les plats principal.
Attente de 45 minutes ensuite pour avoir la facture alors que nous avions tous nos manteaux & qu'il était évident qu'on voulait partir. Très frustrant. Serveur nonchalant.
Cerise sur le sundae. Le pourboire est calculé après taxes contrairement a la nouvelle réglementation....
Ive been here 3 times now, & its amazing each time.
The prices are great, the food is phenomenal flavour & quality, the atmosphere is great, the service is great. This is honestly one of my favourite places in laval to get drinks & dinner with friends.
Perfect for a date night or girls night out.
It was my first time at their brunch & i will definitely be back to try more on the menu!! Cant recommend enough
Super de bon resto, bouf bonne, ambiance bruyante mais la place sst vraiment belle, style resto bar. Nois avons aimé notre experience & les drinks sont bons!

Je n'ai pas aimé la nourriture & le service était long. Nous n'avons pas reçu nos plats en même temps & avons eu des entrées avant nos drink. Beau look mais très décevant niveau nourriture.
Ne valait pas le prix.
Nous avons apprécié nos verres & notre entrée. Par contre, le service était inadéquat à certains moments & les repas principal étaient ordinaires.
J'ai dû demander à un serveur de vérifier à la cuisine car mon amie n'avait pas son assiette principale & moi oui. Elle l'a reçue environ 15 minutes après moi & nous étions deux seulement.
On nous a mentionné un rabais: deuxième drink à 5$ & il était à 6$ finalement
& arrivé au paiement par carte, le pourboire est encore après les taxes, malgré la nouvelle Loi 72 depuis mai 2025...
Juste wow j'ai eu un party surprise pour ma fête ce soir à ce restaurant & honnêtement super belle expérience côté bouffe, drink & ambiance & quoi dire du décor. Je recommande à tous cette endroit j'ai déjà hâte d'y retourner. Bravo à l'équipe qui nous as tous servi 30 personnes & pas oublier le dj ça musique elle étais parfaite pour la soirée.

To my surprise we were told this is a'tapas' style menu. At 18-30$ per item for a'tapas' menu considering the quantity we received is pretty disappointing.
20$ for 4 small shrimp or beef dumplings, 18$ for 5 (tempura-ish) wings. You'll have to order half the menu easily. The mains which were also small portions are 27-60$ each.
This tapas concept seems to be a new branding trend to overcharge & underdeliver.
The food was Ok, I did not enjoy anything in particular, just run of the mill chain restaurant quality stuff.
On another note, the drinks were really good!
There was a wide selection & they were very creative.
Service was good until we finished our last plate & we had to play find a waiter for the bill.
The concept is nice but there needs to be some solid improvements in service & value.
Went for brunch. The food was outstanding, very tasty & unique. Had the wonton soup, fried beef dumbling, croquette & general tao waffle. All very good. Drinks are amazing, had the amaretto sour, spicy margarita, cappuccino & the rice lager, once again, delicious. Had a great experience. Highly recommended
Really great spot for drinks & food! Some dishes were sadly mid, others were delicious. Stand outs were the mapo tofu, bang bang cauliflower, & shrimp dumplings. The salmon tartare left much to be desired.
Overall I'd recommend this place. Beautiful decor & atmosphere. Very unique menu, & a broad drink menu.
