I was lost as to what have for our dinner while in Montreal & being a huge lasagna fan, I was drawn to the prospect of Gino's.
I'm a homemade lasagna snob, so going to a restaurant that specializes in lasagna, I had very high expectations. I can say, Gino's made an impression on me.
To start, the vibe is very'come here if you like negronis', & the customer service was great even with us not having a reservation at the time. We got recommendations for our order & we ended up ordering the Tonno Affumicato as an app, & the Gino & Alla Norma for our mains.
The bread served is decent, & the balsamic accompanying it was very tasty. But we actually weren't a fan of the Tonno Affumicato as much, it may just be the style of dish or combination of flavours, but we do wish we tried something else.
As for the lasagnas, the quality is there. I make a good lasagna at home, so I often don't order it outside unless really craving it which I usually get disappointed. The lasagna at Gino's is something I can remember vividly eating, & hope to try it again.
The Gino had a pleasantly sweet & tangy red sauce, moist & soft ground meat, & a great overall bite. But, the Alla Norma is what I think you need to come here for. An absolutely delicious vegetarian slice of lasagna that offers a perfect combination of ingredients in an eggplant based lasagna.
If you're looking for a nice spot for a date-night dinner, & you're craving pasta in Montreal. I think you should try Gino's!
Gino's is definitely a must-visit spot in Montreal! The atmosphere is cosy, you feel right at home, & the service is spot on! The cocktails & Negronis are excellent (a special mention to Joelle, who's a ray of sunshine behind the bar). The food is fresh & original! In short everything is perfect, I can't wait to go back for the fifth times!

Le meilleur : la lasagne. Nous avons pris la'Gino' avec de l'agneau, c'était goûteux à souhait. La texture des pâtes maison était parfaite. Le dessert glacé au nougat était ok, sans plus. Tiramisu très décevant, la texture désagréable en bouche, granuleux: les biscuits ont manqué de trempage. C'était p être une mauvaise batch mais on a laissé la majorité & la serveuse n'a rien demandé à ce sujet. Le service, le gros point décevant du lieu :( A notre arrivée à la porte, on dit un beau bonjour haut & fort. La serveuse nous voit, à entendu (tourné la tête vers nous) passe devant nous, aucune réaction, pas de sourire, aucun non verbal du type'je suis a vous dans un instant. Un gars est au comptoir, il lève les yeux à notre bonjour mais ne répond ni ne réagit pas. Douche froide. On se regarde & on hésite à aller ailleurs. On se fait placer, on regarde le menu. La serveuse arrive & nous demande'alors est ce que vous allez prendre un verre pour commencer?' On lui a dit'bonjour. On va commencer par un bonjour' dit avec le sourire. Elle n'a pas sembler comprendre qu'on voulait un peu de politesse de base. Ensuite le reste du service fonctionnel, sans chaleur dans le service. Bonne lasagne, mais pas une belle expérience malheureusement.
I really love this place for the vibes, the lasagna & beverage options. Having a limited menu & know a few varieties of lasagna, you know it will be good. The Gino's lasagna is delicious! The waitress was also really nice & charged my phone for me 😬

C'est la 2e fois que je mange chez Gino's & c'est toujours une belle expérience, l'endroit est très sympa, les lasagnes sont délicieuses & le tiramisu généreux. Je recommande vivement !
I hosted a corporate dinner at Gino's last month & had a great experience! The lasagna is delicious & tastes like your grandmother's family recipe. We tried three appetizers (focaccia, beef tartare, calamari) & all were great. I had issues with getting reimbursed by my company & the management at Gino's was incredibly helpful, great customer service!
I went to Gino's Sunday with a group of 6 people & everything was outstanding - from the cocktails to the desserts! Definitely worth a try the food is absolutely delicious & the service was also exceptional. So happy to have found this gem & looking forward to going back!
Our group of 4 remember when St. Laurent was rok'n with the hottest restaurants & clubs & we haven't gone back since the city ruined it by the non stop construction. Well I kept on seeing this Gino's pop up on my feed & since I love lasagna & Negronis I made the reservation. On entering, the place was hopping with the young crowd I once was when it was my generation turn on the Main. Our female server Lean had the perfect St. Laurent vibe sweet, attentive, knowledgeable with the right amount of tattoos. First my buddy & I ordered 2 classic Negroni's my wife had the one with prosecco & one white wine & all were great but if your driving one Negroni is enough because yippee they are good. The food included entrees of salad( good for 4) that was delicious but the deep fried shrimp & zucchini was outstanding & the portion of both were nice to see in this time of shrinkflation & my buddy had the octopus another hit. So here comes the lasagna & I'm already 90% full but my brain was about to be put on hold because it was melt in your mouth great! Since it was my friends birthday & we were beyond stuffed we shared another hit with another melt in your mouth tiramisu. So in the end all I can say is St. Laurent is back & Gino's is a great night out just come in hungry.

Had an amazing night at Gino's yesterday with four friends for a birthday. The staff was freaking amazing & even surprised us with a dessert & a candle. The tartare & octopus were incredible. Can't wait to go back!
We really love coming to Gino's for an easy, vibey & relatively affordable date night spot. The quality of the lasagna is amazing, consistent & well portioned. The staff is friendly, the lighting is calm, & it doesn't feel overwhelming or loud to talk amongst people. 10/10!
Was having a lousy birthday. 62, house a mess with renovations, futile workday. Gino turned it around. Every morcel of food was perfect- outstanding lasagna, great appetizers, & the negronis were out of this world. Excellent music, atmosphere & service. Not dreading 63....thanks.
Had a fun night at Gino's. Started with a yummy salad & then enjoyed their signature lasagna & a perfectly crafted Negroni. Great food, great drinks, & a fun atmosphere.
J'ai adoré mon expérience au Gino's ! Je ne connaissais pas & j'ei pu réserver une table pour 15 personnes de la veille pour le lendemain pour fèter mon anniversaire, ce qui en soi est un exploit de la part de ce restaurant. Immense gratitude au gérant, qui a été adorable & attentionné du début à la fin. Gros bravo à léquipe en cuisine. Les entrées, surtout le thon, étaient délicieuses, mais les lasagnes sont vraiment top ! Mème les desserts tiennent la route, & tout ça pour un prix défiant toute concurrence. Seul bémol : la serveuse n'était pas vraiment sympathique & on a eu le sentiment plus d'une fois qu'elle nous faisait une faveur. En même temps, je la comprends, une table de 15 à 21h un dimanche soir, c'est rough. Mais bon, c'est la job ! Un peu d'humour a arrangé tout cela & nous avons réussi à la faire sourire. Merci à toute l'équipe ! Ah, autre PS : La musique était un peu forte & pas forcément adaptée. C'est un détail, qui a son importance quans même.
